Winterfest was a total screw up. 1st they messed up the launch and had to reset the count 1 hour after start. Then they messed up the compensation for that. Giving players points based on how they finished LAST year. this prevented anyone from competing for top awards that had not already won them last year. Basically guaranteeing that last years top players would end up with a nearly free totem. In addition this will unbalance the game for months to come. They can basically skip events that require hero souls, not to mention how much further ahead they will be on pet soul stones, free map moves, free eternal seeds ect. depentding on how they spent those millions of free baubles. WORST WINTERFEST EVER
I didn't even play this game last year and I logged in after the reset, but i still got 20k baubles and cookies. My guild members also 20k. Also I think because my server is not an earlier server it didnt affect the leaderbaords. But yeah that truly sucks if your on an early server where people are already maxxed like that, you got screwed.
this winterfest is a joke, we got way more baubles by upgrading the new heroes the last years: we get 232.480 baubles 2024: Holiday Every Day: 48.750 Waiting for the Holiday: 51.980 Winter Tale: 39.000 mystery map: 84.000 (the usage of explorer moves are not worth it, especially compared to a full upgrades now hero, I count 20.000) Area of Conquest: 8.750 (7900 doesen't count, because it is impossible to get them because of the inbalanced matchmaking) we got 552.380 baubles the last years: Holiday Every Day: 66.750 Waiting for the Holiday: 51.980 Winter Tale: 40.650 The Stranger from Frigid Space: 373.000 the gifts are not worth more, or got cheaper. Rewards and quests are the same, but we have one day less to fullfill them. do you know how it feels if you only get less than 50% of the gifts to christmas than the last years? Of course it gets not better when you know, that you invested 100% the same as the last years... this winter event proofs again how much nexters hate their player! 2 Guildmates quit playing because of nexters.

We are the 2nd most active guild on our server yet we couldn’t get halfway to 3rd place. Distant last again. Repeat. Furthermore, ranking rewards were distributed in error. Several reports were filed throughout the event about the guild with ONE member with the 2nd place tree rank. They ignored our reports and gave out the 2nd place reward to that single player. This game is headed for the dumpster. Charlie, pick a new game for your new channel because hero wars has become trash.
I wished for a totem fragment, titan artifact spheres and skin stones. I got 350 more chances at a totem fragment... i.e. titan artifact spheres. This winterfest was strange (beyond the resets at the start of the event). I am typically motivated to send gifts in order to get the new hero to absolute star and to get the winter skins. This wasn't the first WF where I've had all of the skins going into the event (and this year's new ones weren't available through gifts), but also having Augustus at absolute star prior to WF starting did reduce the motivation.

Happy new year Charlie, just before i leave, i tested the manholes theory if you miss one, by mistake, you dont lose it, the game will make sure you get 3 ...... Winterfest fot me, was a battle between Guild member who have deep pocket for the totem bonus.... and i wish when you do 10 missions a time and you have a POPup that allow you to pay for instand upgrad for emerald, i would have a double check because more then once, i lost alot of emerald.
Charlie, the double-dip just got a little more interesting. The Piggy Bank went live today, making it potentially lucrative to burn emeralds tonight (during the Legacy of the Old Ones/1st Titan double-dip as opposed to the dual Titan double-dip). For those who might still need to hold back some of their emeralds in the long run, the presence of the Piggy Bank can give them a bit of a reprieve. At the 20% effective rebate, it can take already rebated emeralds from x5 purchases and stretch them even further. Much as I wanted to hold my emeralds until the two titan events to double dip there, I'll probably do my emerald spending during tonight's. I saved a wad of emeralds from all of the sales expressly for this opportunity, but I'll still need emeralds after, so ... this works for me.

What is the in game drop rate for titan totem fragments? Should we wait to use The frag we got from the feast or wait until we get one from the Alter of Elements?
I have used 3500 spheres in one sitting and not gotten a totem. But emeralds - I average under 80K per totem gotten = well under 2000 sphere equivalent. And this is around the 10 total totems level.
Bad Luck Protection is emerals spends only. It's best to do the first two totems that way before opening any Artifact Spheres. Spins with Blue Balls have no bad luck protection, and the odds of a totem fragment are believed less than 1 in 5,000.
I got the golden raid ticket as asked for it, gems or baubles so was happy to get it to get those spend energy tasks done super fast while also getting items to makes heroes stronger, was not happy about what I got to say sorry for resetting the event as only got 20k trees but had spent over 45k in trees before the reset as well as over 15k in gems as I set the fireworks off and upgraded the tree to level 3 almost to level 4. Having read the posts and seen video on the issue at hand I knew I wouldn't get tons of baubles as I only started playing this game this year on 06/08/2024 and same goes for the guild I made which was not long after, but seeing the massive gap in tree levels, presents sent and received is very disappointing to say the least as it has just made strong teams even stronger and increased the gap between new guilds/mid level guilds and the top ones.
Lucky I didn't get it. I got a totem which I don't need yet until I can collect 45k emeralds to get my 2nd totem. Have to suffer through another year I guess

I must say Winter Clause was kind this year as it gave me a golden raid ticket that allows me to farm missions automatically as many times as I want without going in there. It is a handy feature. I heard from people it lasts forever..is that true?

I'm around 40 War Flag Gifts now, somewhere between 75-80% 1 Move or 50 thread and still no Frost Flag. I did get the last 4 Winter Skins I didn't have, but otherwise I consider Winterfest to have been a bust. Wasted so many coins on the War Flag gift for the worst rewards. I would have been so much better off if I had not even tried for the Flag and just asked for Ascension Gifts instead.
Congratulations Hero Wars! You have now made my team I have been working on completely worthless. Augusta received a penetration skin, so now everyone is fighting with Nebula and Issac. If you have a control team now, it is completely WORTHLESS! Hero Wars makes some really bad decisions lately! I wonder why their revenue keeps dropping?
If you haven't leveled up Isaac or Sebastian yet, I'd highly recommend it. They are probably the 2 most important heroes in the game, and easily hard counter Augustus.
Newbie Q: are there any events that reward you for promoting or evolving your heroes? Or is it better to just promote and evolve them as they come up? I've been sandbagging my heroes for the last month or so hoping something would come up [I figured Winterfest might have something, what with the longevity & many tasks.]
There are frequent rewards for hero artifact leveling - Legacy of Great Ones is one of them. There has been 1, maybe 2 events in the past year that involved hero soul stones. Every new hero/hero specific event involves promoting just that hero to Orange or Orange+1. But in general, no point sandbagging.

I have a lot of skin stones and I want to upgrade some of my hero's skins but I can't remember if there is an optimal moment, like an event that is monthly or seasonal, where I can take advantage and require me to upgrade my hero skins. The last one was Cowabunga! during the Ninja Turtles event. It's hard to say when the next one will be as hero skin stone tasks aren't included in many events. You can find previous ones on Hero Wars Guide's site. Go to the events tab and search "hero skin". (Charlie often includes the link to Hero-Wars-Guide 's page in the description of videos or lives, pretty sure my post will be deleted by YT if I include a link.) If it's holding back your main team, you should consider using them now as it could be a long wait. If it's for depth heroes, then it could be worth the wait.

If you played last years Winterfest you can see the decline in the overall value, without the reset screw up.

i felt that was always the case, no need to chase flag, just send out one daily, got it third day

are earth titans worth upgrading
I believe it's best to upgrade the titan's you have totems for, but Eden and Angus are both worth it in my opinion.
