Doug, new to your channel so catching up! Great mod job - again! You are really good. Curious as to why the need for a 2" receiver? My 2021 Expedtion SE 900 Turbo came with the smaller receiver already attached. Spec sheet also shows the SE comes with a heavy bumper. Any insight on this? Thanks!

The 2" receiver has a much higher towing capability. I forget the difference but it goes from 500lb to 1500lb or something. The types of things we do with our SWT expeditions, we need that additional capability. Check out my logging sleigh videos and you will see what I mean.
The other advantage of the 2" receiver is there are more accessories available for it than the smaller receiver. Things like tow shackles, high offset, low offset hitches, anything the Jeep community has come up with, etc, all typically use the 2" receiver.
While I can understand a normal rider thinking these reasons are nuts, we do use the 2" capability with the riding we do.
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment.

@@DougsMessyGarage Wow, that's way above my pay grade, Doug! I just tow a couple of Clam or Otter sleds for ice fishing! Thanks. I'll check out those other videos you mentioned.

@@5199John I doubt you will have trouble with the smaller receiver towing your target loads. Hope you get a good winter season.
