    Pal-lo Dur-o is how it's pronounced -
love that place. My friend from my Junior High days own the rental cabins there. I lived just right outside the grounds in the 80's on road that you take to get to The Canyons. Many Long Horns & trails which lead to caves but Rattle Snakes deluxe in that area even in the town. I know those who go catch them to eat or make things like guitar straps out of the skins.
Enjoy but keep eyes & ears open

My husband and I tent camped at Palo Duro Canyon in late July 2019. It was 119 degrees in the shade. We did the big BBQ dinner and TEXAS show, which was really fun... The dinner, show and camp fee was about $100 total which I thought was a good deal. By the time the sun went down and the breeze picked up we thought we would sleep pretty good. But the wind stopped as soon as we laid down... neither of us got much sleep at all that night. It goes down in our history of one of the most miserable nights camping ever (there are 3 others). Needless to say... we didn't do any hiking or mtbing... it was just a halfway point to stay somewhere on our way back to Arkansas from Colorado. Looks like y'all enjoyed it more than we did. Next time, go for the BIG TEXAS SHOW!

Thank you very much for making these videos. I watch them and just wish I had done things different in my life. I truly enjoy watching you folks doing all those outdoor activities, it gives me incentive to try to enjoy life much more so I went and bought an old camper and am gutting it so I can get out there( can't afford new). I bought a 15 ft canoe, 12ft vhaul aluminum boat and a 4x8 little Bass raifer fishing boat. Tons of camping gear. Iv been camping 1 time this year because I work work work. I hope to one day join people who are doing the same thing you two do. Stay safe a n d keep up the great fun/work your doing.

I am a bit concerned y’all always leave your stuff alone and unsecured(ish). I think that was a collared lizard. We’ve been to Palo but never seen one there. We did see several at Colorado National Monument which is epic near Grand Junction. And if you go there also go see Grand Mesa and if you like horses go see Little Book Cliffs near there also.

And if traveling between Grand Junction and Denver you might want to stop in Rifle CO to see the state park there and pack a lunch to eat behind the water fall there. In Marble CO you will find marble that was mined to use in the bldg the Lincoln Memorial (Wash DC) was built with- and if you do go there e sure to eat the BBQ.

Hi guys, I'm sure you have mentioned it so forgive me, but what are the of your tent and cots? For two people, we have a Core 10 x 9 tent that has a 10 x 5 screen porch. So we can keep some gear, etc. in the 'porch' but are now switching to cots and I'm afraid to go too big. The tent is a straight wall, not a dome, but still want to leave space on each side of the cots (pushed together) without any chance of moisture inside or out. So... how big would you go? We'd like wide and one camper is 6'4". Right now, I'm limiting the width to 30-33" inches wide, each. 120" wide tent less 60-66" cots leave only 34-40", or 17-20" on each side. I'm being timid and anal I know, but thought I'd ask. Enjoy being a part of your travels!

What are the best months to Kayak Camp at Lake Quachita?

As long as it isn't too cold for your comfort zone, GO!!! Perhaps start in March and go through late October to middle of November. No reservations to make or cost to go. Find a spot and pitch your tent.

@@billmccullough2323 thank you. I noticed some islands were numbered. Do you have a favorite?

@@ritawilson8762 It has been awhile since I have camped on an island. The things to look for is not too far away from the shore line in case the weather gets bad or the wind gets strong. A gravel beach is nice to park kayaks on and make loading and unloading easy. Pay attention to the wind, and camp away from the wind. That way whatever trees are there will be a windbreak. That will help protect your tent, campfire and be more comfortable. Check out Buckville and Avant areas. Those are free camp areas and I believe there are some islands very close by and leave you the option of not paddling to an island if conditions become unfavorable. If you have more questions contact me on Messenger. I will be very glad to answer questions there and be considerate to Cody and Kelly and not clog up their vlog.

Great video as usual and while the shots are great I do miss Kellie talking us through each step of the recipe.
