My experience with people in Kentucky have been nothing but sensational. They are good people. My prayers still go to the people of Mayfield who saw their town nearly wiped off the map by the tornado in Dec 2021.
The firemen and paramedics and police deserve a lot of credit smart thinking in real life situations way to go appreciate you guys job well done even on rescue 911your show rocks thanks ! Joe
Truly a miracle from God that they ALL survived. In a wreck like that you can never be too careful with children. Even if he looked fine they still had to have him checked out. When my sis and I were in a car accident we got out of the car ourselves and the paramedics still took us to the hospital in an ambulance.
This was filmed in 1990... my kids are the exact same ages as the two boys in this episode, so that means they are now 32 and 26 [in 2016]. Hope they're having happy productive lives!
Same here. Couldn't watch E.R. though, my dad is a retired RN, he worked in the Emergency Room full time for almost 40 years- and every. single. time. ER would come on TV, he would nitpick and criticize every single little detail- Like "you dont give someone that much of _____...That would kill them! You are supoosed to give 20cc of _____ instead to stabilize the patient." "They have the EKG leads in all the wrong places", "They were supposed to stabilize his blood pressure BEFORE doing the CT scan, not after." "If someone is having trouble breathing, you don't give them ____ because it restricts the veins which carry oxygen rich blood." lol
It’s been 34 years since this happened so Brandon is 42 and Belinda is 51 now. This happened on a Friday. When I saw the accident, I was terrified. I’m sure all the survivors said “Thank you” to their rescuers because without them they wouldn’t be here today. I was living in Fountain Hills, Arizona at the time this happened and I had just turned seven years old. This happened six days after my seventh birthday.
That's why they widened the highway into where I live, b/c so many cars kept coming around it too fast and getting in terrible accidents. Even good drivers. They used to call it Suicide Hill.
allgood2000 This is one of my top five favorite 9 11 episodes. It was unbelievable that they all made it out alive and well after some healing time. Thanks!
I remember that day. I was walking w/ my sister and it was so hot that day. When I saw the cars I thought wow! It was like a movie in front of ya. Then we heard cries for help. It was a very sad day. I thought no one couldve made it out alive but Thank God they all did.
I can't believe everyone survived that, you will think they were dead, I am proud they found the way to survive , now they are with family and friends, my prayers for everyone family's and friends
A similar incident happened with me and a friend of mine. She was driving, and we were just outside of Chicago. She's driving a small Ford Echo, and we had the "boxed in" effect, except that we had a cement wall along the driver side. It was pretty freaky!
I'm guess you two are friends. What's her name? Also, I'm guessing she was very upset that they were in that car accident and that she knew about their handicaps.
My late great grandfather was a garbageman even though the garbage truck that he boarded with his crew didn't become a runaway vehicle. God rest his environmental soul. 😢
They all have to thank God that all of them survived and made a remarkable recovery. There number wasn't up. I am sure they will go to church more often and thank God for allowing them to live and enjoy life.
the 8 yr old son just had abdomadol injury and the others in the crushed car were the ones who needed more treatment, but u do have a good point of view there the 8 yr old should have been the first in the Ambulance and treated but in this situation they thought the people in the cars needed treatment first.
That's why you should tell as much information as possible, altho these days you don't need to bc a recent major surgery will be the first thing to appear on the necessary info that paramedics need to know.
Yes, that was on Episode 611, the same episode where a little girl named Jeanie got shot by a man trying to scare away a dog. Karen (the woman who crashed) didn't drown though, a jogger who saw her crash reached through the broken window and lifted her head above water, but she was trapped inside the car for a long time because she was tangled in her seatbelt and if the jogger let her go her head would be underwater again. They had to wait for someone to pass by and get help.
I guess they bought cheap cars and paid stunt drivers to crash the cars. I read that for the segment where the suicidal lady drove her car the wrong way on Interstate that they filmed most of the stuff at 35 miles per hour and sped up the the film to make it look like it was about 90 miles per hour. I don't know much about stunts, but they might have used pipe ramps for car flips.
Thank God they all survived! GOD is our savior & our miracle may we all bless the Lord in his name AMEN! Grateful they all survived that horrible crash, GOD IS GOOD!
We had a hill like that until they widened it because too many people kept getting in accidents on the way into the city. They used to call it Suicide Hill. You couldn't have had even a little to drink before going down it.
on August 13th we has a truck crash into a building in Frenchtown and burning two buildings took myself and other firefighters EMS and police on hand we are lucky nobody is hurt or killed
I have 4 daughters and idt I'd even think about myself if this happened, just my girls. I always think of different scenarios of accidents and how I'd get them out. Where we live we have to drive over this little part of road over the water and one side There's no guardrails so I worry about going into the water. 3 of 4 of my girls are small and can't swim so I worry if that happened how I'd get them all out and to safety... I'm so happy everyone survived this terrible accident.
this nearly as same happened in Frenchtown NJ tow truck lost a break hit the pole crashed into a building cause a big fire took myself and other emergency services to put the fire out lucky no lives were lost and it was in 2018 took me 72 hours helping out
In general, how does anyone recreate a crash? For instance, the blind lady in the traffic accident-how would they go about re-creating that?? Using a real blind lady, or an actress wearing shades to denote she is blind, and carry a seeing-eye dog? And when the accident occured she would probably ask? "It feels like we crashed. What did we run into??"
Not really. I found out a lot of trivia by reading old articles from magazines and newspapers about Rescue 911. At my old community college, we had a database that let us search for those types things, but unfortunately I don't have access to it anymore.
Wow, I can't believe they survived being hit by a garbage truck. Had a friend who drove one of the big tow trucks say he was once called to remove a vehicle that had had a garbage truck just tip over on it. The car was maybe half a foot to a foot high once the truck was removed and all four people inside were dead.
Reminds me of Super Pursuit Mode in Knight Rider where KITT gets those fins that detract from the car. and speeds up immensely! The only way KITT is speeding up is by the film being sped up rapidly!! And from playing the game "Stuntman" for Playstation, I think they show during a cut scene what makes a car flip. It is called a roll-bar11 Couple that with a blind stunt-lady, and stunt driver and you have the making of a good collison!!
I swear that garbage truck used for the reenactment is the same one from "Maximum Overdrive". In that movie the truck is a dump truck and it drives over a gas station awning with the bed up, ripping it off. www.imcdb.org/vehicle_11447-Ford-L-Series.html
See segment #5 of Episode #106 where a suicidal woman drives right into the cars this one is an example of that segment because in both of these segments the crash itself was deleted/not shown.
Yes it does- the spring breaks. When the PSI goes below acceptable limits, the spring breaks autmatically deploy bringing the vehical to a grinding hault. The vehical had defective breaks which could have been prevented by doing routine maintenance and daily circle checks by the driver which is required by law. The driver should have been charged.
I WISH I WAS A LAWYER THEN! Oh baby, the lawsuit$ I could file against the tow truck company! By the time my clients (the victims) and I were done with them, the tow truck driver would be an indentured servant! Infortunately, I was only in 8th Grade then.
is there a segment where a woman was afraid of drowning untill she actually crashes her car in the river causing her to drown somewhere in the 6th season?
It would probably cost a lot of money to film a garbage truck flying off a tow truck and crushing cars, so I'm thinking if they filmed it they would have shown it. Maybe they tried to do it and could not re-create the crash.
BTW it violates te person's HIPAA to be filming them while EMT's are loading them in the ambulance. I'm a paramedic and tell them that all the time. They have to get permission but they don't care about THAT at ALL. Ambulance-chasing attorneys are just as bad.
+Vicki Bee HIPAA was enacted in 1996, this happened in 1990 or before. That being said...it is still a horrible practice and attorneys are just as bad.
+Vicki Bee The HIPAA was implemented on October 16, 2003. This was a LONG time before that. I just love all the "kiddies" that comment on all these old shows complaining about "everyone knows to do" this or that using today's standards for a situation that happened a decade or more before those new standards were even thought about.
@jaffacake1578 A rollcage probably would have helped somewhat in this situation, unless it was one of those crazy fabricated one used by the NHRA or NASCAR with tubing and gussets just about everywhere
HOLY CRAP- at 1:58- THAT'S A CAR?! OH MY GOD!! At 2:37, I guess it was right that he should have stopped the camera, but then again, we wouldn't have this.
I was a small child when i started watching this show, and was immediately addicted to it. I miss it ALOT! Wish it would re-Air with new episodes!!
They have the old ones on Pluto TV you can get it on a smart TV or on Roku
My experience with people in Kentucky have been nothing but sensational. They are good people. My prayers still go to the people of Mayfield who saw their town nearly wiped off the map by the tornado in Dec 2021.
The firemen and paramedics and police deserve a lot of credit smart thinking in real life situations way to go appreciate you guys job well done even on rescue 911your show rocks thanks ! Joe
The paramedics and firefighters deserve alot of credit your service is deeply appreciated thanks rescue 911 your show rocks take care. Joe

They are! They are both police officers!
@@TheNaturalibra So cool ! Some sadly end up with PTSD after such an ordeal.
If that isnt a miracle, I dont know what is! I also think it was hilarious when the little boy told the nurse not to run over his toes! hahaha
I'm impressed that they got everyone to a hospital in an hour!! That's incredible!
Man! I remeber this episode! I was 12 back then! Thats 19 years back! Thanks for posting! :-)
I would always watch this show with my family growing up
Same here. Couldn't watch E.R. though, my dad is a retired RN, he worked in the Emergency Room full time for almost 40 years- and every. single. time. Amen! We should thank the good Lord that these people survived!!!
That's amazing 👍😊
how?
Ok

Thank God they all lived :)
These Ppl Are Bless Nothing But God. God Is Always Right On Time
Angels saved them for sure.
I can't believe everyone survived that, you will think they were dead, I am proud they found the way to survive , now they are with family and friends, my prayers for everyone family's and friends
Wow, look at that baby in the front seat. Times sure have changed.
Even if times has changed no matter the time the babies or kids should never be in front like that
Well air bags were a thing at that time which is the main reason not to put babies in front.
That was my first thought, front facing newborn in the front seat
Nothing but God All Of Those Ppl Bless You All You All Are So Bless
They all lived =) That's such a relief for all involved.
A similar incident happened with me and a friend of mine. She was driving, and we were just outside of Chicago. She's driving a small Ford Echo, and we had the "boxed in" effect, except that we had a cement wall along the driver side. It was pretty freaky!
I went to school with the little girl who's parents was in the wreck. The school that it happen it front of was my school.
Bluebaby0526 omg really
I'm guess you two are friends. What's her name? Also, I'm guessing she was very upset that they were in that car accident and that she knew about their handicaps.

Are these incidents AWFUL or AWFUL? Thank GOD nobody died.
How the hell did anyone survive that? I love the cops family, they all just seem so sweet.
They all have to thank God that all of them survived and made a remarkable recovery. There number wasn't up. I am sure they will go to church more often and thank God for allowing them to live and enjoy life.
the 8 yr old son just had abdomadol injury

more treatment, but u do have a good point of view there
the 8 yr old should have been the first in the Ambulance and treated but in this situation they thought the people in the cars needed treatment first.
abdominal. and a punctured bowel almost always leads to peritonitis which is very hard to cure.
Alvin Brown they had to Triage the patients.
That's why you should tell as much information as possible, altho these days you don't need to bc a recent major surgery will be the first thing to appear on the necessary info that paramedics need to know.
28 years have passed since this happened.
I glad y'all ok

That woman is very brave.i could not deal wit that thing screwed 2 my head.all of them r brave.what a thing to come out of.Amazing.😘💯❤👈🥶

0:55 Who remembers their little sibling buckled into one of those type of car seats?
I agree specially the police officer family cause one hand he wants to be there on the other hand he has a job to do
Nothing is impossible for the Lord
this video makes me sad. The last firefighter seen in this video...is my deceased stepdad. :(
Amandakate67 omg really
From a former Ky firefighter (not too far from Frankfort) God bless you...and God bless your stepfather. Peace to you. ❤
No one died they all lived don't you watch the whole thing
We had a hill like that until they widened it because too many people kept getting in accidents on the way into the city. They used to call it Suicide Hill. You couldn't have had even a little to drink before going down it.
Perhaps it was filmed but not shown because it was too gruesome, so it was cut from the segment!
They need to install an emergency lane for the trucks to stop safely when they lose their brakes.
A runaway ramp. They have them on various roads with steep downgrades
on August 13th we has a truck crash into a building in Frenchtown and burning two buildings took myself and other firefighters EMS and police on hand we are lucky nobody is hurt or killed

Im Sorry for your loss
MilwaukeeSDman no body died
No one died did u even watch the video

the 80's, jeez. . . car seat in the front seat!
And facing forward!
STOP THE RUNAWAY THAT GARBAGE TRUCK
SUE!
This is why modern cars have strong roofs
Not really. I found out a lot of trivia by reading old articles from magazines and newspapers about Rescue 911. At my old community college, we had a database that let us search for those types things, but unfortunately I don't have access to it anymore.
aww, im sorry to hear that.
Wow, these people were so lucky.
30 years already
7:40 That's a big freaking 6-year-old! I thought she was more like 10 or 11.
I wanted to see the Garbage Truck fly off the toe truck. We missed the most action packed scene of maximum carnage!

I was an extra for this.
cars were built tougher back then, these tins on wheels nowadays would have been one with the road....including the passengers..
@jaffacake1578 yes a roll cage would have preserved the integrity of the passenger cabin sufficiently to prevent head and neck injuries.
Anything is possible through Christ
Yes it does- the spring breaks. When the PSI goes below acceptable limits, the spring breaks autmatically deploy bringing the vehical to a grinding hault.
The vehical had defective breaks which could have been prevented by doing routine maintenance and daily circle checks by the driver which is required by law.
The driver should have been charged.
Why would the drive be charged? It's the company's job to makes sure vehicles are managed!!
That is unless the breaks worked when he did the check and when he was going downhill they failed. Happens on occasion.
Only if properly adjusted and not in a overheated condition! Overheated brakes caused them to fail !
I live in this town and never heard about this.
Really? It was a huge thing!
That is one brake shop getting the shit sued out of them.
Back when car seats with babies still were in the front seat
+flee2321 Because there was no passeger side airbags in cars then.
They still are
Yeah, no front air bags.
Before dual front airbags
OH YEAH- I forgot about that one....
@musicalcaptain The tow truck was hauling the garbage truck.
Come on rescue 911 people put this back on
I WISH I WAS A LAWYER THEN! Oh baby, the lawsuit$ I could file against the tow truck company! By the time my clients (the victims) and I were done with them, the tow truck driver would be an indentured servant!
Infortunately, I was only in 8th Grade then.
What a mess glad there ok
is there a segment where a woman was afraid of drowning untill she actually crashes her car in the river causing her to drown somewhere in the 6th season?
They were lucky to be alive
I'm so sorry this happened years ago
HOLY CRAP!
🤣! You took the words out of the late Peter Boyle's 👄 when he played Frank Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond.
It would probably cost a lot of money to film a garbage truck flying off a tow truck and crushing cars, so I'm thinking if they filmed it they would have shown it. Maybe they tried to do it and could not re-create the crash.

I meant to say HIPAA. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
+Vicki Bee HIPAA was enacted in 1996, this happened in 1990 or before. That being said...it is still a horrible practice and attorneys are just as bad.
+Vicki Bee Really? I thought they film for training purposes all the time.

Did you not watch the video?
5:27 was he yelling at the lady to quiet down?
I think he said come on people not now. Maybe referring to the camera man
Wow.....Vicki Bee HIPAA hadn't been enacted at the time.......wow
@jaffacake1578 A rollcage probably would have helped somewhat in this situation, unless it was one of those crazy fabricated one used by the NHRA or NASCAR with tubing and gussets just about everywhere
Does anyone know the police officer name?
PROPER CAR SEATS GO IN THE ''''''BACK'''
@1f5sda i would be afraid if i was riding with my momma because she can speed and t is what that is what scares me the most
1:30 i was Looking out for someone’s job to do
HOLY CRAP- at 1:58- THAT'S A CAR?! OH MY GOD!! At 2:37, I guess it was right that he should have stopped the camera, but then again, we wouldn't have this.
why did he not pull the emergency brakes.
I agree.
that would hurt
This was made in 1990
