Beach Read has a very misleading cover, you think it's fun and fluffy but it's actually quite depressing lmao. I liked the book because I think I was in the right mood for it. 🤷♀️
I just read Get a Life,Chloe brown....I wish everyone would read this. As an adult with chronic pain and who is scared to have relationships because of it, it was so refreshing and amazing to see chronic pain rep in books. Cursed by Karol Smith Silverstein is also another favorite for YA chronic pain rep
I wish I had read Cursed when I was 14...I relate to the character so much. It came out this year. The MC navigating through Chronic pain is the main plot and nice just a sub plot and that was HUGE for me!
I loved Beach Read but I totally understand why you felt middle-of-the-road about it. Between the cover & the hype, I feel like it was kinda misrepresented - it’s NOT a beach read! 😂
One of the things I also loved the most about Get A Life Chloe Brown was the representation of Red as a male survivor of DV because that isn’t a thing we see a lot and it was just such a positive portrayal of it. It was a really important inclusion I think.
I love to hear comments about books that I own that I haven’t read yet. It excites me and when I read it I remember the comments that others have made and it puts the book in a whole different light.
I love that you're skipping the Midnight Sun vlog! Love a creator who not only calls out problematic content but also decides to spend their time highlighting other books. I've heard so much about Get A Life Chloe Brown, but I think this is the first time I've desperately needed to get my hands on a copy.
Man the poet x is one of my favorite books of all time . The inverse writing just makes so easy to dive into and the characters of the story I can definitely see myself in the girl wanting to discover yourself but having parents especially a mom that won't understand that with religion and everything
I loved Beach read, but I read it in the dead of summer, I was a huge sarah dessen fan as a youth (lol) and it really reminded me of that, it was also one of my first romance books so it just hit all the right spots for me. But i totally understand why it's not for everyone. Get a life chloe brown is awesome! and poet x was absolutely amazing. loved this video!
Just discovered your channel and read (well listened) to The House by the Cerulean Sea this week because of your review. I absolutely loved it! So heartwarming.
thank you so much for acknowledging how much your mental state can impact a reading experience, I really identified with that. also LoVe your book choices queen!
I love the Winston Brother's series you mentioned! Love to hear what you think about that series. I re-read them a lot because I find them so great as a quick pick-me-up read.
IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA 😭😭😭 tbh I don’t even give the book summary justice. I literally just tell people hey what if....lmao Also I just got beach read 😅
Literally, this video inspired me to bite the bullet and order a copy of The House In The Cerulean Sea because I've been hmmm-ing and haa-ing about it, but now I'm super excited to see how I feel about it and if I think it lives up to the hype!
I accidentally saw it reccomended by other vloger, got an ebook and fell in love with this book. Definitelly one of my favourites, and now I paid millions to get handcover shipped to me to Poland 😂😂😂. I just need this in my life so badly. Hope you gonna like it as well!
Chandler love the new hair!!! You loook so pretty!!!! ALSO SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS VIDEO!! Please do another dark romance recs or enemies to lover recs!! No pressure but I loved every bit of recs in that ♥️♥️🥰 love watching your cats on your insta🥰🥰🥰
i def need to do some more rec videos! i haven't read a ton of really memorable romances this year which is why i haven't made any rec videos but i'm really hoping i can do some for the latter part of the year :)
Have you read heated rivalry by Rachel Reid? It’s the greatest enemies to lovers I’ve ever read. It’s also a m/m hockey book which I love reading. Highly recommended it!
I gotta agree that Beach Read is kinda melodramatic, as opposed to what the premise and the cover (duh, what am I saying) have promised. But I really liked to see something that's not comedy and with a number of issues and topics, and how the characters grow and solve them. I love GUS haha yes, and I agree that sometimes January seems flat and borderline whinny. For Chloe Brown, it was a refreshing read, really enjoyed it. I just loved Redford so much, how sensitive he was. But that outdoor sex scene (oops, spoiler I guess) kinda bothered me.
Anyone else watch these just to watch chandler move around her house and look at the different parts of it? Just me? *Also just adore the bookshelf room*
Ahhh all of these have gotten so much hype and putting them all in one video is such a cool idea. Def will be reading the house in the cerulean sea in September for sure for sure!!
Girl I feel so fucking euphoric every time you post cuz I just knooow u won’t disappoint. Lit rally could not care whether you liked the book, I love your 2 cents. I stay collecting them pennies.
the best book of this year has to be the ravenhood series ... you should read it just do yourself a favor but make sure to read it without any spoilers ,, the first book is good but the second book ? BOOM bookhangover i cant stop thinking about it
i'm a literary fiction and horror reader, and i LOVED beach read. i think it might be one of those romance books where non-romance readers love it, but romance readers don't.
ahh this was SO great!! You're honestly my favorite book reviewers, Chan. Your thoughts on what you read are always so well put together and eloquent. I'm so glad you enjoyed Cerulean Sea
The Poet X was the first book by Elizabeth Acevedo and it got me hooked on her work. But also I've had Get a Life Chloe Brown on my radar for a while and you just make me want to make me more.
I am with you. I didn’t love Beach Read but I gave it 3 stars, good writing but it was to sad and could not care for them as a couple but Gus was nice but I mean he was so much problems and ghost a lot lol 😂. When reading the synopsis I thought this book would be enemies to lovers, light and fluffy great to read on the beach on vacation. I took this with me on the beach on a vacation and realized I made a big mistake. Why am I mad at everyone but the amazing Aunts lol 😂 and BFF. But good book just not for me lol
I can totally relate to this. I haven’t found many books this year where I was blown away which is disappointing. I don’t know if you read this but one of the few that I have been obsessed with this year is from blood and ash and the sequel comes out next month. Also War was a good book. 🙂
Get a life Chloe is the first book i read, where i feel represent and i love it. Its what i call "fluffy love" book, because it wholesome and cute and you learn a little bit from it. Im glad you like ♥️
i didn't vlog it/don't plan to do dedicated videos, i talk about it a bit in this vid. my feelings/thoughts might change on it but for now, nothing is planned. it was a 5 star read tho clearly ;)
Get A Life, Chloe Brown is one of my favorite books ever and I am SO glad you liked it so much; I was waiting for you to get to it the whole video!! Worth all the hype, and important on so many levels.
Beach read felt very “eh” to me. Its weird cause I mostly read romance related books and I thought I would love it but the book was really predictable and I felt like it fell flat.
yep that's how i felt too! def not trying to yuck anyone's yum because the book wasn't bad at all but i really do feel like indie romance authors and some of the more underrated traditionally published romance authors tend to write more interesting stories

You mentioned the Winston Brothers series-I love those bearded men! Am married to a sometimes broody beardo myself...Have you read more than Dwayne and Jess‘ book?
do you still take recomendations, because I have a very good one: Thrown off the Ice by Taylor Fitzpatrick. it' a fairly unknown author, but if you check goodreads, the rating is like 4.6, it's that good. it has a Heated Rivalry feel to it, only funnier and absolutely heartbreaking. i've made it a mission to make more people read this book and i feel like you would like it.
Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa was the best book I’ve read this year. I discovered her after reading the book Pestilence. I saw you also enjoyed Pestilence so you should give Rhapsodic a try!

Watching your video about get a life chloe brown made me so happy and made me miss the book so much! Take a hint dani brown is soo good i hope u like it!
While I enjoyed Beach Read, it was nottt what I would consider a ‘beach read’ (aka it was not light and fluffy)
Thanks for your kind words on The House in the Cerulean Sea. I loved narrating this book so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
ah you did such a fantastic job!!! thank you
Beach Read has a very misleading cover, you think it's fun and fluffy but it's actually quite depressing lmao. I liked the book because I think I was in the right mood for it. 🤷♀️
this is exactly what I needed in my sub box today
and here i was, needing some kayla in mine!
I just read Get a Life,Chloe brown....I wish everyone would read this. As an adult with chronic pain and who is scared to have relationships because of it, it was so refreshing and amazing to see chronic pain rep in books. Cursed by Karol Smith Silverstein is also another favorite for YA chronic pain rep
oo thank you! i will def add that to my tbr
Stan
As another adult with chronic pain I am adding both of these onto my to read list!
As a 19yr old with a chronic illness I defo wanna try these out
I wish I had read Cursed when I was 14...I relate to the character so much. It came out this year. The MC navigating through Chronic pain is the main plot and nice just a sub plot and that was HUGE for me!
it’s like ur taste testing us
haha i did think of that when i edited this!!

Domestic Violence, I think.
