- Over the years had some of the Jolly best Korean instant noodles, and even done an instant ramen Jolly world cup.
But today, we delve into the dark world of British instant-noodles… How bad can they be???

I tried it once when I'm studying abroad in the UK, to be honest, POT NOODLE is probably the only brand where the cups themselves taste better than the noodle.

So true. I have this East Asian ship just 10mins away from me, and they sell great noodles, Korean, Singaporean, Malaysian, and Japanese. I'd eat those any day opposed to Pot Noodles.

😂😂😂 i remember trying all the pot noodles when i was visiting family in the uk like 2 years ago and omg i couldn't stop laughing at how bad they all tasted. Made me miss the unlimited amount of Korean noodles i have at home
I was like "where's the pot? Those are cup noodles" but then I remembered "oh british"
Cup Noodle is also available in the U.K.
I think they went looking for noodles from a British food company as that sounds like a local company. There may have been other brand names that were part of food companies outside of Britain like Maruchan or Nissin which in the US have a pretty mediocre domestically made product too. If you want good instant noodles in the US you pretty much pay a lot more for imported Korean or Japanese noodles at a more upscale grocer with a good Asian food section or visit a specialty Asian grocer.

It's no wonder they are hard, you are supposed to cover the lid over while they steam.
I left them to steam for 10 minutes the second time I had them and they were still hard unfortunately. Any tips on ensuring the noodles are fully hydrated?

I'm Korean and if i go to england or my parents go there, i always buy or ask for pot noodles. It isn't "that" delicious but it's not as bad as Josh and Olly shows us. I really love pot noodles. But it really does taste very instanty(?)

Nah, its cheap insta-noodles, you add water and let it drown, then you have something that is passably edible.

I can relate the taste, I still remember when I eat Australia instant noodle, before the Indomie taking over asian section on our supermarket, thanks god now we have so many good instant noodle .
All noodles we have in Australia are from Asia or maybe India we don’t have our own Australian made ones .

Go to asian supermarket and get any instant noodle. Indomie mie goreng is a safe and addictive choice. You can even buy dried noodle and cook it your own. It'll come off better than that disaster. Garlic oil, etc.

For brit students, rather than limiting yourself to kinda bad instanoodle. Just go to your local asian supermarket and get some like Indomie, Mama, Shin Ramyun, Nissin, etc.

if you go to amazon indomie cost £16 for a box of 40 packs. It last me for at least two weeks, but it is extreme unhealthy XD.

Yep pretty much my reaction to the pot and mug noodles. I sometimes happen to buy the other ones if I really really crave noodles at like 10pm and there's only one tesco express close to my house, so you know only for emergencies 😂
As a loyal fan of asian cup noodles, I genuinely couldn’t get through even 1/3 of a pot noodle the first (and last) time I tried it...absolutely cannot compare to the asian ones

-Don’t tear the lid fully off, use it to cover while it’s “cooking”
-Tap the pot so the “seasoning” isn’t on top

@@bihajinha1082 pretty much, it's like eating cardboard that has really crappy flavouring. And sometimes the flavouring doesn't all mix in so you get these horrible clumps of powder... It's not good.

You’re supposed to mix the sauces in, they’re concentrated so if you just put it on top it’s gonna be wayyy overpowering
