I genuinely thought something like this wasn't going to be feasible until quantum computation was more mainstream. The fact that they can run these algorithms now on current tech just makes me salivate for what's coming, and soon... for real, people aren't ready for what's coming and how much things with change, even in the next 5 years. What a time to be alive

BOINC also has these projects for folding proteins: Rosetta and GPU Grid. AI and distributed computing are really the technologies that will bring the next steps in science. That's why we (Cnergy) as a young start-up are building databoilers, that will bring distributed computing and AI to your home in an environmentally and cheap way.

AI is so inspiring. It's funny to think it exists as early as it does, in some part because of gamers, which have created a demand for higher and higher computing power.
To get AIs, we needed the best tech, the best softwares, inspiration from nature and how your brain work, the emulation made possible by internet, linking so many minds together, and the context allowing a research that for a long time didn't produce much results.
Now, we're breaking milestones every year or multiple times a year, and it seems to be getting exponentially faster.
