Helpful video! Some additional pointers: It's impprtant to note that WhatsApp shouls not yet be installed in the new phone or not yet opened/setup. You can clear your cache and data in the new phone prior to opening Whatsapp if you already have it. Otherwise, it wouldn't work.

It hasn't worked for me cuz it the option for "restore" in my new phone does not appear, but I liked this video a lot and loved the way you explain and give instructions very clearly. You seem very patient heh. Thanks again! Will def try it again tmr.

Hello Amlaan, I found your video really to the point , simple and easy to follow.
However my case is a bit tricky and that's why this question.
My iPhone died suddenly, it's all blank, dead and cant be accessed.
So I moved my sim to a new phone and installed Whatsapp. Sadly i have just a few day's old, random chats on my new phone.
Please tell me how to get all the old chats on my new phone. I used to backup regularly on my old phone so I am wondering in spite of backing up why I have just a tiny fraction of the chats on my phone.
Shall really appreciate your help. Thanks.
It happened to me and I struggle for many days trying to get all my messages and data restored, then I chanced upon on the solution!
it's very simple, on the new phone you first have to delete WhatsApp and and all the data, then re-download and install WhatsApp using your old number before changing the sim, it will then automatically ask you if you want to restore or your data and in doing so it will restore your latest backup....

Please can you back up or restore your chat on different phone with entirely two different numbers registered on eqch phone or before you restore your chat your numbers shd be the same.

yes, everything gets backed up ...but be sure to check the box for including media when you take a instant backup......

Hi, thanks for the video but I am confused. You took a local backup (the most up to date backup since you didn't want to wait for Google Drive to backup later) on your old phone but you restored whatsapp on your new phone from Google Drive (most likely an older backup) and not the most up to date local backup taken on your old phone.
Correct me if im wrong.
Because I'm unable to complete a Google Drive backup of 35+ GB for whatever reasons and I am looking to transfer a local backup from my old phone to the new phone (without restoring from Google Drive)
Unless this is what you did and I missed something?

hi brother i have a question you set google backup to never right behind local so my question is that when you start backup your chat where it was backuped ??in drive or or local storage ??where it was actually stored when you backup your data cause your google drive setting was on never but it is not possible for a mobile phone to shift data from other phone internal storage

Now after restoring , can I just put my old sim in my new mobile.
