Hay Toni these are cool the stamped pumpkin you can put a black square piece of paper behind the pumpkin face so the eyes, nose and mouth stand out more from the front .. you won't loose the face if you put a soild black behind it. ... I had done this too. With the stamping .. thanks for sharing very fun.

I'm also thinking distress stains or thinned craft paint to do a little wood stain look, or paint then 'age' them with inks. I've also used just ink pads to create an aged look on wood. I stamp with black, and then layer with lighter colors (mustard, light brown) and work to the darker colors around the edges, and when dry seal with a matte finish.

@@Craftpurge Spray Krylon clear varnish. It might not be called varnish, I have not used it in a long time. Or in the craft paint aisle there is a sealer (clear) from Ceramcoat, like the 2 oz. bottles of paint, that comes in matte or satin.

Hi Toni, Ive done a few of these and they are fun.
On the paint if you paint thick layer in a pounce motion and heat with with heat gun it bubbles and gets cool texture. The more layers you do the cooler it looks. I showed one in my shaker wand tutorial. Last video I believe.

I've been having fun recently with wooden ornaments - I can make my own because I have access to a CNC machine. I did some tree baubles and other bits. BTW, you can use nail gels too if you have any you don't normally like to wear - the advantage is fast drying!

My favorite is the one with Glossy Accents. I have always painted my wood items, but I appreciate seeing all your ideas and may try a couple. You might like to thin your black paint and add black specks to some of your items. For example try it on an orange pumpkin. It gives the look of dimension with actual dimension. You will need to practice this technique first. Don't thin the paint too much and you must have tiny specks of black paint to get a good look. I am sure you could find a video with this technique. It is a folk art and decorative artist technique.

use a thick clear embossing powder on your pieces. Your glitter pumpkin, you can put a clear embossing powder over it and any piece you did and it will hold in all the glitter. I like your pearl ghost best of all, and the painted pumpkin with words on them, you can use clear embossing powder on your versamark ink, to gloss your black words. This is something I'd like to try. TFS
