In the meantime, not sure why many are so negative about France, everyone says they're the most fun team to be around, and they seem to have pretty good chemistry. (yes yes, Ngapeth has a history of being a bit controversial, but still)
This is a very young Italian Team yet very good . Lavia,Romano, Michilleto and Recine are all under 25 years old. Bright future and many more achievements awaits this young team.
I still can't believe it, what a match. I'm so proud of Italy, they deserved it. Everyone did a great job. Giannelli and Balaso were so much better than Brizard and Grebennikov yesterday. Romanò finally found his service in the last, most important set. An incredible victory, I'm so happy.

Against Japan i already realised that France was not in his best shape, this match confirmed my feelings. Italy played cleverly with Romano shining.Very balanced match with tense final.The other teams really good are Brasil and Poland . Italy is a young team able to stay calm under great tension .Great players rarely commit mistakes when tension rises.And Italy showed great control .No silly mistakes , everythink mentally under control. One of the most exciting matches I saw, although I'm not really into the officiating done in this game, Romano really stepped up big time, congrats Italy!
The back quick set which was hit by Ngapeth was sooooo smoooothhhh. An outside hitter hitting opposite and that too almost a B quick is seriously amazing.
It's ok France, it's not always rainbows and unicorns in sport but atleast you already bagged 2 golds in just a year, the Olympic and VNL tournament imagine not a lot of team achieved that so nothing to be ashamed of still proud of you boys. you just have to comeback stronger next time coz that's what champs do. And just want to congratulate Italy they did great, these young Italians are very promising. Congrats!
I think it is a highlight of volleyball that there are at this moment and in the last years easily 6 nations that can claim vinning major tournaments. Within these 6: Poland; Brazil, France, Italy, USA; Russia (yeswhen the thing is hopefully over); maybe Argentina as well, good luck to pick a favorite.
Terrific win for Italy - Romano stood out but owed plenty to Giannelli, who gave him lots of swings against a single block or fading middle. Lavia has become a really, really good outside hitter too. Big fan of France too, shame one of them had to go out at this stage!

I thought France vs Japan was the best game of the tournament, and then France and Italy played most definitely as good if not a better game. A great deal of courage and fantastic action from both teams. I thought at the end that France's experience will prevail, however BRAVO to Italia as they were Magnificent. So many big points were won on shear guts and tenacity.
@@mowiszimasz3506 Poland vs USA was a great game, and Poland has the best advantage in the Tournament due to their FANTASTIC fans on top of their great talent. Their fans LIFTED them after dropping sets 3 & 4 and they would not stop until magnificent Lefty "Sliwka" put away the last point for 15-12 in the fifth set. However, the France vs Italy was a Back and Forth affair, and Italy had to raise their game to overcome this phenomenal France team which was riding high since winning the 2021 Summer Olympics and 2022 VNL championship. Let's compromise and say they were both great games along with France vs Japan.
It's unfair that the hosts were paired with more accessible teams and the strongest ones have to eliminate each other, because hosts were seeded 1 and 2 despite of their performance in the first round. I hope the tournament format changes.
You mean Poland vs USA, yup, easy match for Poland, great adventage for host :D. In 1/4 there is no possibility that some of top teams meet each other.
Poland won all the matches in the group round. So obviously they would not be on the bottom. And they play against USA tomorrow one of the best teams in the competition. So what you’re on about. It’s unfair for everyone. Although I have to say I don’t like this format too. I prefer it to be again another group round. But it’s FIVB making the rules 🙈

USA us not the strongest team prior comoetition, remember tgey were eliminate in first roubd in the Olympics, they are not as strong as four or guve years ago, no more than France or Brazil. Poland was 3rd in the combined ranking after first round, but was seeded 1st and had ti face Tunusua instead of Cuba. Slovenia had the oath even clearer, being ranked 7th was seeded 2nd. Meanwhile Italy and France, both first in their group and not losing any match had to eliminate each other. That's what I am about, the format is clearly favouring hosts.

I think it is a highlight of volleyball that there are at this moment and in the last years easily 6 nations that can claim vinning major tournaments. Within these 6: Poland; Brazil, France, Italy, USA; Russia (yeswhen the thing is hopefully over); maybe Argentina as well, good luck to pick a favorite.

Terrific win for Italy - Romano stood out but owed plenty to Giannelli, who gave him lots of swings against a single block or fading middle. Lavia has become a really, really good outside hitter too. Big fan of France too, shame one of them had to go out at this stage!

I thought France vs Japan was the best game of the tournament, and then France and Italy played most definitely as good if not a better game. A great deal of courage and fantastic action from both teams. I thought at the end that France's experience will prevail, however BRAVO to Italia as they were Magnificent. So many big points were won on shear guts and tenacity.
The best match was played by Poland and the USA in the quarter-finals

Their fans LIFTED them after dropping sets 3 & 4 and they would not stop until magnificent Lefty "Sliwka" put away the last point for 15-12 in the fifth set. However, the France vs Italy was a Back and Forth affair, and Italy had to raise their game to overcome this phenomenal France team which was riding high since winning the 2021 Summer Olympics and 2022 VNL championship. Let's compromise and say they were both great games along with France vs Japan.

It's unfair that the hosts were paired with more accessible teams and the strongest ones have to eliminate each other, because hosts were seeded 1 and 2 despite of their performance in the first round. I hope the tournament format changes.
You mean Poland vs USA, yup, easy match for Poland, great adventage for host :D. In 1/4 there is no possibility that some of top teams meet each other.
Poland won all the matches in the group round. So obviously they would not be on the bottom. And they play against USA tomorrow one of the best teams in the competition. So what you’re on about. It’s unfair for everyone. Although I have to say I don’t like this format too. I prefer it to be again another group round. But it’s FIVB making the rules 🙈
@@jupiterk-z1m Poland is a great team, but the path has been cleared. USA was his opponent in the group stage and beat them already 3-1. USA us not the strongest team prior comoetition, remember tgey were eliminate in first roubd in the Olympics, they are not as strong as four or guve years ago, no more than France or Brazil. Poland was 3rd in the combined ranking after first round, but was seeded 1st and had ti face Tunusua instead of Cuba. Slovenia had the oath even clearer, being ranked 7th was seeded 2nd. Meanwhile Italy and France, both first in their group and not losing any match had to eliminate each other. That's what I am about, the format is clearly favouring hosts.

Maybe a bit for Slovenia, but both Poland and Slovenia had tough groups respectively against USA and France. On the contrary, Italy e.g. had a group with more accessible match like Canada, China and Turkey. So, not that unfair at all, IMHO
