Protect ya neck boi! Haha love it.
I love Baji but there's no master near me. I was advised to try to learn it by myself. I've a black sash in Ng Ga Kuen Kung Fu and Tang Soo Do, and training in several other styles.
When working the bag I was trying to practice Baji strikes and came up with left jab->Left elbow->Right horizontal elbow smash and bob and weave out of the way.
I'm glad to see Laoshi recommends a similar combination!

There is also a one-inch punch version using the elbow. That you don't want to absorb hehe.

Trying to figure out how he gets so much power into that elbow after already taking a step for the feinted punch. Crazy stuff.

One part is the specific stepping method of Bajiquan and also there is a rotational component, but it’s hard to see. More pronounced when practicing the basic moves.

    • @WH3
      @WH3 Рік тому

You have to practice the basics over and over again (and these are in the Xiao Jia and Danda) then eventually you can glide and stomp into the position with power

because the first punch is not powerful but just for follow the elbow, instead of a punch i would like finger jab

It Is what i do in Snake style ( XingYiQuan) Finger jab ( even Palm strike when i am not that far) then elbow strike

Do they have bajiquan schools all over China? I was wondering if they have any in Chengdu?

Youre just applying baji style in a kickboxing like stance. It would throw the opponent off. Just like doing the baji stance but your form is actually boxing. Youre just getting into your opponents head

    whyyyyyyy kungfu whyyy?
    i ask chat cpt
it say actually kungfu have many forms that really strong and dangerous(remind user also plays a part) but technique wise many kungfu form is very practicall
    less acrobatic of dance
its just less people teaches real kungfu
they mainly focus on forms or kata rather real fight
    ancient china no joke
the amount of brutality is what many kungfu style birthed from
so saying kungfu is useless and just flash is wrong
but yes there are many kungfu especially in opera house just for flashy movement and not fight
kungfu even have something similar to BJJ and Muaythai
