Another thing that may help with you break outs is changing your pillow cases more frequently. Both my girls have to change their several times a week when their acne is bad. A good dermatologist can be a good thing in these cases also.
I love watching your hauls. I enjoy how they are not over the top where you buy half the store(s). Idk if anyone mentioned what a sexfoil is but it’s a flower with six perianth segments. Still a weird word to call a liquid highlighter lol
Dermatica is like curology in the states. Tretinoin is prescription retinol so the highest strength you can get. Be very careful and start slowly! You might want to alternate nights with something more gentle or buffer it with your moisturizer. But it’s worth it! Good luck💕
Holy grail of anti-aging! Hope it helps w acne. And dont forget your chest and back of hands in your skincare routine. And and, careful w the retin a on your neck
Tretinoin (pronounced Treh-tih-no-in) is prescription Retin-A. So continue to be vigilant with your sunscreen for sure and go slowly at first (maybe every other night or every 2 nights). I use Curology and my Rx is almost exactly the same as your, Sam. It has done wonders for me! Hope it works!
To help my breakouts, I was told to wash my hair regularly and keep it off your face when styling (oil seeps down from scalp to face so wash 2/3 times a week). And Dermalogica (Aussie brand) are my go to, no fragrance or botanical oils.
Omg declutter fits me perfectly today!! I have decided to spend an hour a day decluttering, donating and organizing. Today’s hour was non stop and so highly productive- really makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something and working towards a more beautiful space in each area!!
I was only able to get my acne under control by going to a dermatologist. Beats spending tons of money on skincare that will likely not work, or will only work for a period of time.
Love your content, Samantha! I’ve been struggling with a resurgence of what I thought was hormonal acne for about five a six months. About 2 months ago I made a connection between my acne and my foundations containing SPF. The SPF was causing what I thought was hormonal acne. (Deep, cystic breakouts that would refill and return constantly.) Turns out that I had developed a skin sensitivity/allergy to the type of SPF in those products. As soon as I stopped using foundation with SPF, the breakouts stopped. Just wanted to mention in case it was something that you hadn’t considered. Again, love to watch your videos. You’re so much fun!
I'm obsessed with the Em Cosmetics Daydream Cushion! Before you use the replacement, you can always flip the cushion over and there is a lot more product on the other side.
Definitely take your time with adjusting to the tretinoin. I kept overdoing it then I would have to wait until my skin would recover then start again. Eventually I figured out I had to start really slow (1x a week). Also, I still can’t use vit c since I’m using the tretinoin. So I would say start with very basic skincare; wash and moisture, then your Rx. You can alway adjust the frequency and adding additional ingredients once you know how your skin reacts.
i struggled with hormonal acne too for a very long time.. it actually took me to going to esthetics school (i’m a medical esthy now) to get it under control & now i help others ! everyone’s skin is diff though. but i love tretinoin & still use it to this day. Tretinoin takes up to 12 weeks to get good results so it’s important to be consistent. spironolactone (oral medication) helped me a lot as well in the beginning. and a benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the morning every so often to help with active acne.. but now i love helping others at work achieve their skin goals! i know of people who have also used the online company Apostrophe, they will send oral & topical acne prescriptions to your doorstep. you upload photos and a dermatologist helps prescribe you stuff you need.
I recommend taping the cushion onto your skin instead of swiping motions. You’ll be better coverage at least in my experience. I love cushion foundations! Wet and wild had an awesome one but they of course discontinued it. The new skincare might be pushing all of the impurities out kind of like a detox and after a few weeks you’ll probably see a stop to new break outs. Sending oodles of love
A tip about the cushion. Once it starts to feel dry, flip the cushion over. There’s more product on the other side. Great haul! I hope that the Dermatica works out for you. Can’t wait for updates later on 😊💜
Sometimes if your skin is dehydrated, the barrier gets disturbed and the skin can break out.you were saying some places on your face were dry you may just need moisture to repair the barrier, the great barrier relief by krave is really good to get your skin back to normal.good luck!
Happy Tuesday, Samantha! I need to get the Deck of Healthy Habits...and more items from your brand. I'm excited for the restock :) Fun haul!! Thank you!
GREAT HAUL!!! My mom and I (because...genes) have a tendency to get pretty bad breakouts - nothing could have changed...Or so we thought. We have to use one brand of laundry detergent, (2 rinses!!) and have to use one brand of softener. Two of our newest realizations: Can't change our body lotion (hands touch the face in your sleep). And switching to a SILK pillowcase that we swap out often. My mom is way more sensitive than me and even changing her shampoo/conditioner or haircare products in the slightest - she will get huge welts on her face. Maybe pay attention to your haircare and body lotions/oils, etc in addition to your skincare. 💜
The EM Cosmetics cushion foundation is amazing! They have lots of great products. I usually tap/bounce the sponge on my face, not drag. And yes, they send a refill! I myself also just bought the Timeless vitamin C serum!! Great haul video. Hope you enjoy❣️❣️❣️
I've heard so many having issues with retinol, but I've only used one brand and I've never had any of the typical issues caused by retinol. Peter Thomas Roth has time released retinol, so it's gentle. It's in the blue bottle. It's the only one I use and it works amazing. Highly recommended.
I just said today that we need to declutter our living room and spare bedroom. The bedroom looks like a tornado hit it. Lol. We just keep throwing things in there when we don't know where else to put it. 🤣
I live in Northern Nevada, also a desert, just at higher altitude. It's a little busted but I keep my cushion foundations, or anything cushion or liquid not in a bottle, in plastic baggies to help keep them moist, or your cushions won't make it a month, even if you don't use it daily. I'm telling you.
I heard that your body is last to respond when it comes to stress (versus your brain & emotions.) So sometimes we will feel like we’ve “gotten over” the stress, when it’s just hitting our bodies fully.
Have you tried a facial steamer? I had hormonal acne, very similar to what your dealing with, and it was a game changer!! The makeup products I wore everyday consistency broke me out and clogged my pores (no matter what I used). After steaming 2-4 times a day (morning and night) my skin cleared up. My opinion - I have oily skin and very small pores, and cleaning my face alone wasn’t enough - my pores were always clogged/inflamed because of the makeup. I still ware makeup daily, but with the steamer, my skin is 100% better. Hope this helps!
Love the timeless C. Also, seeing a dermatologist will help. My daughter takes spironolactone and when taken every day, blocks androgens and clears her acne. Xoxo
Hi Samantha! I feel your pain with the hormonal acne. I'm a pharmacist, so I've tried it all, and the best thing I've ever found for serious acne is benzoyl peroxide 10%. Amazon sells one by rugby laboratories in a cream and a gel formula and is super affordable. I swear by the gel, twice a day and/or spot treat as needed. The product is strong and I saw results quickly. It can also be found in Walgreens, CVS, etc... just ask the pharmacist and they can help you find it. I hope this helps 🤩
Hey there girl how's your day going. Sam I really love seeing the real happiness in your face eyes words the way you have been. I know you still go through things which is completely natural and will go on for a while. Although I pray very soon you are able to speak of every journey you've been through and not get that frog🐸 in your throat. I hate to see it know your sad or just hurting. This is beautiful 😍 ❤ 💜 ♥ 💖 💗 😍 knowing you're becoming atleast it seems happier then I've seen your face voice and actions in a LONG WHILE. LOVE IT. You my friend are great.
I just placed my second order for em cosmetics and I can’t wait to get it! Also I highly suggest using a damp beauty sponge to apply the cushion foundation the air puff makes things pill trust me it happened a ton with different products until I used a damp beauty sponge
I decluttered about half of my lipstick collection last week because some of them were SO OLD and it launched a reorganization of my whole makeup area!
Great haul!!! I’m very curious about that derma-e product! I’ve been happy with the other products from them that I’ve tried. I’m also curious about that tinted sunscreen!
I really need to go to a derm with my hormonal acne. It sucks! Hope yours gets better Ooh excited to see what you think of em cosmetics. They're lipsticks are my favourite formula
EM cosmetics cream blush looks so pretty. I may need to pick that up. Please give us a few updates as you try to tame your acne. I breakout more around my chin than anywhere else and nothing is really working.
I got the peach iced tea lip sleeping mask awhile back and it's my favorite I have I would love a update on the skincare I also struggle with cystic/hormonal acne
The em cosmetic dream cushion is more of a foundation, I'd still put SPF under it..but I've had good luck with it.. & most Korean fusion foundations come with a refill.. without a refill u wouldn't get much product! But I use the puff it comes with, & tap it all over(as opposed to swiping) & I have great luck with it!😁 I wonder if its something ur eating or some product you're using recently that's causing breakouts.. that is usually my problem & def flairs up my hormonal acne! When I eat a lot of chocolate or dairy, my face hates me.. but guess what I love.. both things! But also, if I use the same powder multiple days in a row I'll start to REALLY break out.. so I always have to switch it up.. also, love me some benzyl peroxide wash but I find using it every day is too harsh(my eyes HATE ME for it, no matter what) so I use BP every other, or every third night ..bc u def wanna be careful using too much! But that product u got from wayne goss' recommendation sounds really cool! Hope that works!❤
I'm in the same boat when it comes to powder, especially the Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless finish powder always makes me break out so i have to use it on top of another powder and once every blue moon :/
Yeah...I haven't stopped using the cushion foundation since the day I tried it. I use one shade for the foundation and a lighter shade for under my eyes. Perfection.
I also bought the set foil highlighter x I got the color fetish…. I agree with you about having to build it up. I think the best application is to put it all over your face before foundation. It’s not like other liquid highlighters I’ve tried. I wish it were more concentrated.
I watched a Tati video yesterday and she had huge issues with hormonal acne, same source as me, endometriosis, she uses Differin spot treatment which is an adapalene 0.1% retinoid. I’ve looked at getting it for the odd one I do get now since I had my hysterectomy and it’s £22 here plus a small prescription fee for a 45g tube which is quite small. Not sure if it’s cheaper over there, but I’m so tempted next time I get one to order some. Obviously, it seems to be a prescription item here which is probably why your Wayne goss recommended treatment came with a prescription number if it’s shipped from U.K. x
I have the Derma-E DMAE Lifting Eye Cream & I love it. It’s very nourishing and has improved the appearance of my under eyes. The Dermatica line is supposed to be comparable to the Curology line. So many people have had such wonderful results from Curology that I hope Dermatica has the same results for you!! Please be careful with the Dermatica & Dr. Zenovia. Your skin will be sensitive after you finish using the DZ so the tretinoin will really increase sensitivity and dryness more than it already does! Good luck in your skincare journey!! 💜
I have hormonal acne as well. The Dr Z cleanser works ok for me but their pads I felt made my skin worse. Haven’t tried the moisturizer. Keep us updated!
I'm currently using the Dermatica retinol. I have the strength 0.015, I've got no idea about the strengths tho - all I can say is, it's a waiting game. It can take upto 12 months (sometimes longer) to see results with anti aging, however, I believe results for acne treatment is faster. My advice would be, do not use with any other actives, to dilute with a moisturiser (until your skin gets accustomed to it) and the use twice weekly initially - gradually building to nightly, if wanted/needed. And yes, it is a UK brand. Curology is the equal in the US.
Hopefully your prescription medication for your face will work wonders! I’m sure that’s very frustrating. I can tell you that one of the companies I tried was Curology, and I’ve been very happy with that one. It is a very similar format. Just wanted to mention that one also:)
I watch Stephanie Toms on UA-cam and she's been using the dermatica products also and says her skin is thriving since using it. It sounds like a good brand. Is it like curology that I've heard of? Anyhoo always down for a haul. Em cosmetics always look nice. I sometimes watch her channel and she always looks great using them.. Most Korean cushions come with a refill. look forward to your update on the items you got. 🌻
Hi Sam. I started my dermatica about 4 months ago. Something in there didn't agree with me, I emailed the team and they changed my treatment straightway for me and I've really noticed a huge improvement! Good luck with yours!
The Dermatica sounds a lot like Curology which is also a personalized prescription which contains Tretinoin (generic of Retin A). I know a lot of people that use Curology and love it. Great haul.
Hey lovely !!! All throughout the 1st part of this video, I was thinking 'Samantha, get to a dermatologist STAT !!! Stop wasting your $$$ on things that may or may not work for you !!!'. I was sure that they would prescribe Tretenoin for you. Not only is it AMAZING for anti-aging, but it was originally used to treat problem acne !!! Put away all those other things hun and start using the Tretenoin. Go in VERY slowly, twice a week for a week and see how it goes, if no sensitivity, build up to every night. Tretenoin is the 'Gold Standard' in skincare ingredients so I think you are going to see a massive improvement in your skin overall, keep us posted gorgeous xxx
The Em Cosmetics cream blush is better than the serum blushes. They’re super creamy and blendable and so are the bronzer sticks! Their bronzer stick is my favorite one I’ve tried. The serum blushes were just too dewy looking for me
Hi Samantha,i got benzoylperoxide from the dermatoloog to.But yes it is very drying.I whas so dry in my face red and itchy.I look for a good skincare salon special for acne. And they clean my face gentle all nature and serums like niacinamide.6 monhts gone. Now and then a pimple or more. But my face is clean.I am no docter but please be gentle for youre skin.So never a so long reaction, but all the best girl.
I have found that the Laneige Lip Sleeping Masks very on how well they work for me with the scent. I tried the Sweet Candy, which was amazing, and the Mint Chocolate, which was HORRIBLE.
I would stop the benzol peroxide products, give my skin a week to 10 days to recover & try the Rx product. I was going to recommend trying Differin gel but this product is basically that plus an antibiotic plus niacinimide. I use this same combo to treat my rosacea & it is very effective. If the tretinonin is drying you can apply it over skincare & light moisturizers. I have a Rx antibiotic cream, Differin gel & OTC niacinimide serums that I use. I also found out recently that HAs irritate my skin & trigger rosacea flares. HA is in practically all skincare, sunscreen & foundations now. You could be reacting to a common ingredient in cosmetics. Probably best to consult a dermatologist & get a diagnosis before trying to self treat a skin condition. I thought I had adult acne & excema until I finally went to a good derm & found out it was actually rosacea. Enjoy your time with your family & good luck with the skincare jouney 🤞
Hi Sam I had to get a prescription for my hormonal acne but it took care of it with about the 3rd pill. And I meant to tell you in one of your other videos and I lost it but they sell the pump for the Estée Lauder foundation. God Bless
I wonder if the Clarity line from Pixi would help? It's formulated to balance acne treatment and moisturization. I haven't tried it only because I ended up trying the Milky line since my skin is pretty sensitive, and it completely changed my skin in the best way. Just a though.
Tretinoin aka retin A is amazing for acne and wrinkles! Hope it helps. There’s also differin gel at the drugstore, which is a milder version of vitamin A. Love your hauls!
Yes, I picked up the melt cosmetics foil highlighter, same shade as you. I'm on the fence about it too. I had hormonal acne also, first I used proactive that helped a little maybe not much now I just use crave cream to foam cleanser it has really improved my skin.
Hormonal acne suckssssss, I hope this product line works for you, keep us posted! Currently dealing with this month's breakout, just as I faded the scars from last month's 😒
A change in environment can affect skin big time. The weather is different, the air is different and the water is different. I think once you've had time to adjust hopefully it'll calm down.
Totally just signed up for Dermedica! Sending photos of yourself sans nada makeup is scary!! Always interested in a product to lighten my dark spots! If it’s good enough for Wayne and Samantha it’s good enough for me!!! 🤗❤️
I have been using Timeless Vitamin C daily after cleansing for years! It’s great! After that I apply their Coenzyme Q10 serum. That’s a must! Your dry eyes & skin would LOVE that! Soooo soothing to skin! It is a great serum! It has Marrixyl, Ubiquinone, Aloe, Glycerin, Hyla Acid, Vit E They have sales periodically on website
The cushion is my favorite light coverage product 😊 I have better luck using a brush or sponge rather than the little applicator it comes with. But I also love their lip liners and liquid blush. I haven't gotten the cream ones yet 😕 hopefully soon
Sounds kind of like cureology I like that. Do dermetica first with the benzoyl to dry out individuals. Trentinoin is retinol and it’s a nice low dose to help her you used to it. My skin was the clearest it’s been ever when I was consistent with my cureology script.
I'm really suffering with my skin at the moment too - I'm not sure if it's ghd products I'm using, the wearing of masks or stress but it's probably a combination of all three.
I’ve been using dermatitis for 4 + months. I think it is making a difference to my fine and deep lines (I’ve never had Botox), and I rarely get spots (only if I eat too much junk). Recommend.
I didn't know that. Thanks 😊
@@gidget_ of course 😉

Yup, doctors and aestheticians are the way to spend bucks.
I agree a good dermatologist can make a difference.
100% truth
Agreed.

Yes!! I was going to say that too (about flipping it over). Can get so much more use that way. 🙂
And then ... Squeeze the sponge into the compact and use it from there. It'll have a couple more weeks in it!

Happy Tuesday, Samantha! I need to get the Deck of Healthy Habits...and more items from your brand. I'm excited for the restock :) Fun haul!! Thank you!
thank you brooke!!
I REALLY wanna get the deck of healthy habits too

I love your hauls…you always explain the product and why you wanted it, which is so helpful.
Julia Adam's and Jamie Paige both rave about the Em Cosmetics foundation and highlighter so I can't wait to see what you think

I still think you should wear and SPF with the Em cosmetics cushion. Maybe as a refresher on no makeup/makeup days
The MidWest came out a little there! “OoohYAAA” 😄💜
The Em Cosmetics powder blushes are gorgeous and I think you'd like their eyeshadow palettes too! For future reference 😊
I loved this and appreciate you too. Can't wait for your reviews and also restock on your brand products too.
I just said today that we need to declutter our living room and spare bedroom. The bedroom looks like a tornado hit it. Lol. We just keep throwing things in there when we don't know where else to put it. 🤣
Danessa Myricks cushion liners are CRAZY GOOD! They stay in the waterline all day and night.
You are so cute ! I love your OOTD you are getting so tan. Yes drawing cards. Love it.

Ooh excited to see what you think of em cosmetics. They're lipsticks are my favourite formula
I don't need a new Laneige lip mask, but I've been eyeing that Peach Tea one a lot!
Put a thin layer of vasaline on your eyelids before you use the cleanser. It will block the cleanser from your eyelids.
LOVE Timeless! I have been using it for years! It really helped my sunspots. I use it as my first step in the morning. 😊
Excited to see what you think about Em Cosmetics, their products look beautiful!
Hi Samantha! Thanks for a great haul! I enjoyed this! 💕
The new Cle de peau foundation the radiant natural I ordered today…. So happy it’s FINALLY available in the U.S
I use my finger with the melt highlighter and I find it more impactful that way

I've used Curology in the past and they've told me that it may get worse before it gets better since the acne is trying to reach the surface.
Yes the EM cushion does come with a refill and I love the brand!
Tretenoin is the 'Gold Standard' in skincare ingredients so I think you are going to see a massive improvement in your skin overall, keep us posted gorgeous xxx
what is ur favorite laneige lip sleeping mask flavor? berry, gummi bear, or sweet iced tea?
I hope you had a great time with your mom and aunt!
God Bless
Keeping harsh products off you eye area.. put cleansing balm around that area during treatment and then cleanse off after
You found your mini love palette! 😍
Awesome haul!!
Loving the bronzer! I've been wanting to try that one!❤❤
Currently dealing with this month's breakout, just as I faded the scars from last month's 😒
oh man!!
Such a fun haul! Excited to hear your loves💜
Maybe try putting on the sexfoil with a brush? So it’s not being sheered out by the sponge
It is just the formula. U can use your fingers and it still shears out.
Hi hon use pure aloe Vera gel before your moisturiser xx
I love Penn’s channel and follow her from your recommendation.
Dermetica at night and your other during the day.. I use Tretinoin and it’s a night skincare.. I also use Timeless and that’s for day 😁
A change in environment can affect skin big time.
Really enjoyed watching this haul Samantha! Good luck with the prescribed skincare, sounds amazing!!!💕
The cushion is my favorite light coverage product 😊 I have better luck using a brush or sponge rather than the little applicator it comes with. But I also love their lip liners and liquid blush. I haven't gotten the cream ones yet 😕 hopefully soon
walgreens also sells derma e online but the serum you wanted is also out of stock there too. must be super sought after
I have loved your purchases at Sephora .. Curious to try the EM Cream Blush and Lipstick 💖💖💖
Sounds kind of like cureology I like that. Do dermetica first with the benzoyl to dry out individuals. Trentinoin is retinol and it’s a nice low dose to help her you used to it. My skin was the clearest it’s been ever when I was consistent with my cureology script.
I love your beach look..Vegas is suiting you!! xx
thanks!
I think that em cosmetics product is pretty much a cushion foundation or cushion bb cream. Still very huge in Korea and Japan.
Curology is good, too.
Recommend.
I have this same issue with acne all over my jaw and chin 🥲 please update if any of the products work for you!
That Laneige peach iced tea smells soooo good! I was glad I was able to pick one up, since it’s supposed to be limited edition.
