I could not get this conditioned with sand paper. Out of frustration i rubbed it with some find brown sandstone when oit hunting. It sounds amazing now. Nice full tone and crazy loud.

for 10 bucks this call is pretty wicked.any other striker but the carbon striker works tons better and I noticed the more toward the middle I go the better it sounds.

Actually if you strike it on the other side in the grooves you get a much better sound believe it or not

Any heavier grit sand paper should get you started. I have a Primos Slick Stick and that has a stone and any aggressive sand paper on it. After the initial rough up I like to use a small piece of sharpening stone.
