I appreciate seeing this side of thrifting since so many thrift videos show people finding so much stuff when it's not always like that. Recently, I find that if I don't go in with too many expectations, I find something I really like at the thrift. So, I think it's refreshing seeing a thrift visit like this as a reminder that we don't need to always buy something and when we do, it should be something we really love!
So true! Usually when I go thrifting I'll either go home with 5+ items or with nothing. I don't know why but it's either one or the other never in the middle 😅
My single Mom was on welfare so she could raise my little sister & me & she had champagne taste on no budget lol so she taught us how to thrift beautiful quality things from when we were both kids & neither one of us has hardly paid full price or bought anything brand new in years & we are both beyond thrilled with the things we find!! My main tip is if you see yourself with something, do NOT leave it behind. You can always sell it, donate it or give it away later if you end up not rly wanting it but you can't turn time back& get the ONE THAT GOT AWAY if you left it behind!! There are a couple few things I think about with longing& regret for leaving them on the shelf! A stainless Breville espresso machine for $15. I didn't have the counter space so I just left it. Ughhhh. I went back to the same store after I couldn't stop thinking about it for a couple days but of course it was gone. Why wouldn't it be?!?! $15 for a Breville?!! Such regret lol. New subscriber, rly enjoyed this video, sick with sinus infection so bundled up on the couch, going to binge yr videos tomorrow!! Happy holidays!! ✨🌈🎄🌈✨
100 percent wool would be more around 300-500 dollars these days. I remember being at Nordstrom Rack trying to find a new wool coat a couple of years ago. Didn't see anything below $300 dollars if it was 50+ percent wool. At a slightly more curated thrift store I found a vintage Jones New York wool and alpaca coat for 80 bucks. I saw a slew of gorgeous Bill Blass 100 percent wool coats on Poshmark for 30 bucks!!! The second hand coats are cheaper and better quality if you have to buy any new coat less than 300 dollars.
I just found your channel and I read your bio and wow thats so empowering. I always had a passion for fashion and I thrifted from a young age, Macklemore only booted me up even more 😂 I am 25 and im finishing my Psychology degree. I lost my display of passion for fashion over the years battling homelessness and being such a nomad, but that voice inside still whispers. Your ambition is truly inspiring. I pray for the fire that you have inside. I believe in your ability to land security and connections. You are on such a lovely journey. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heart. You’re super cool! ❤
Love this video! Thank you for the tips on thrifting. Please do more on this topic, including some videos on thrifting men's clothing -- the quality of men's jeans and trousers is amazing!
I have loved thrifting since I was a child. I relate to so many points here. Would you know any closet tips/storage advice to post? Mine is growing up poor, I recently realized quality hangers actually do matter. Love!
The trenchcoat was a really good find and definitely worth the trip! My favorite city to live in would be a small town in Vermont or New Hampshire, some place with changing seasons and I could stand cooler weather for a bit / pinkpopmash
So when I thrift I go without expectations I just walk around and whatever catches my eye I consider it I always leave the thrift with a few items . I feel like when I go with the intent to buy a certain item I never find it so that’s just my philosophy
I really want to live in New York! It’s a really basic answer but I live in the suburbs and I want to live somewhere that has actual activities to do and good food @leanakazadi
The dream city I would like to live in one day is London. I’ve never actually been but the cold weather and the overall vibes the city gives off is a massive selling point, also most of the fashion creators I aspire to be like one day live there!! Love you lots chichi!✨@lena.rajesh
As someone who lives in London it’s is actually the trenches. Nice to visit, but so expensive and unfriendly. Grew up here and can’t wait till I leave. The weather is NOT GOOD
@ Heyy, yeah I’ve heard this before whenever I’ve mentioned I’d want to live in London. I live in Perth, Western Australia and the weather here is amazing, the heat however, I cannot fathom, but very friendly and lovely people for sure (so definitely a pro compared to London)
The dream city I would like to live in one day is San Diego. I love the weather and the vibe of the people there and it makes me so happy every time I visit! @kosi.sochi
