I love that this podcast is briging the gap between modern entertainment and social media! There is so much that us UA-camrs can learn from shows like this
I'd not be surprised if the editors working of euphoria S2 saved it and made it actually look like something watchable because the rush they got from the director were probably a mess.
Wow their level of thinking about cuts and how it effects the overall edit is amazing. I know you're suppose to murder your darlings but being willing to stand your ground against something everyone else likes is commendable. This episode immediately brought me back to Walter Murch's "The Rule of Six" and why it's so powerful.
Hello, I am a student at Career Line Tech Center in Holland, Michigan. I'm currently taking a media communications program. Which involves a bit of editing and your podcast helps a ton. Thanks for all y'all do it. Basically a free masterclass.
I've never seen Euphoria but wow those snippets were incredibly powerful. I appreciate seeing it's not just the big murder your darlings, but finding the little moments too. So many lessons packed in I'll have to revisit! Great job guys!
I’ve said it before, ill say it again, the level of guests on this podcast is beyond enlightening. As a storytelling nerd, this talk was rich with intention on a nuanced edit by passionate artists. Every cut must be motivated, editing emotionally first, connecting with the material personally…THANK YOU!! Great team here with the boys of course asking all the great questions
Thank you for all the amazing content! Your guests are next-level, and hearing about the thought process behind each person's editing is giving me so much insight to improve not only the way I edit but the way I shoot, too. This podcast helps me recognize that editing is an underrated crafted and a true art form of sculpting story, visuals, and emotion all together. THANK YOU!! x
There was so much valuable information in this one. I always learn so much from every episode, but this one in particular was such a paradigm shift. Putting the emotion over everything relates well to Hayden's view of audience satisfaction/ experience when watching a UA-cam video. I've never watched Euphoria, but seeing the editors talk about their edits with so much passion makes me sure the show is something very special. We're so lucky to have this podcast as editors!
THE BEST PODCAS FOR EDITORS !!! always super inspired to watch, I get a lot of hope in becoming a good editor for people like you guys that put in the hard work and share all this knowledge, I can't believe all these perspectives are for free thank you so much for such valuable content.
Every episode extends the reach of the next guest - getting these guests speaks both to the power of the podcast and the collaborative mentality of the space. Awesome episode!
I can't believe we're in a period where anyone can access so much knowledge for free. I think euphoria's editing is one of the best edits ever, and indefinitely better than yt vids. There's so many large youtubers nowadays who genuinely don't know how to edit, and its honestly sad, all of them should watch this podcast
Tip from a fan, the first time I heard the 'SD card failed' ad I thought it was clever and creative. After the 4th time I feel like it's disingenuine. Food for thought. Baumgartner Restorations is a good reference for incredibly smooth ad roll transitions. Hope this comment isn't taken poorly. Love you guys
I suggest you change the thumbnail by making the editing timeline smaller, the text and face a lot bigger. If u want, i can send u a thumbnail on twitter of a remade version
Let me just say that the feeling this show gave me was so much that i couldn't finish it, not saying that it was bad, it was just so intense that the negative emotions i was sympathizing with was affecting me so much in the the real world that i could not finish it. I consider that as good eiditing, but still i can't finish it without it affecting my real world.
Ok I’ve been watching the first 15 seconds of this video on repeat cause I can’t get over how AMAZING the editing with the music here is. Does anyone know the name of the song used? I’m pretty sure it’s from epidemic sound but I neeeeed to know the name! So please if anyone knows….reply to this comment. Thanks! (PS, Hayden hire me as your assistant editor)
I'm a video editor who just graduated from college...it's been a hard start. started from dance concepts to short films to commercials and now just editing youtube channels. how do I get in contact for mentorship or possible advice! as a young Latina editor.

The way they spoke about editing was so infectious and inspiring! You can tell they really care about every detail.
24:39 I’m tearing up just watching these short bits from Euphoria and hearing the emotion and edit behind it!
There's something about Rue crying that had us tearing up in the edit, as well. Such powerful storytelling going on here!
Same! Glad I’m not the only one haha
Over the moon to see another Podcast
dang surprised to see you here!
I've been obsessed w the cinematography & editing of Euphoria. This is an absolute dream! Thank-you.
This is the best podcast ever, you should do an episode about the heroes journey

New intro person? The intro looks amazing.
It was edited by our host Hayden Hillier-Smith!
Yes🎉 so happy this is back, one of my favorite channels on UA-cam
Every episode extends the reach of the next guest - getting these guests speaks both to the power of the podcast and the collaborative mentality of the space. Awesome episode!
I'd love to see you guys breaking down "the last of us" storytelling and Editing methods
They tweeted few hours ago they've gotten in contact with the editors and they're working on it😮
Thank you for these interviews. Your content is a jewel man!

Since I've never edited something before in my life it's really cool to just get basic knowledge of editing from these episodes love it 😀
Great episode! So fascinating to hear about everything comes together through editing ✨
The Euphoria team is on another level. We're so thankful they came on the pod! 🙏🏻

Nice 😊
I'd be curious to know why this video didnt do so good even though Euphoria is so beloved and the video is actually interesting (imo)
Oh man what video. Even though i didnt watch 😅

Dailies refer to the raw, unedited footage captured during a single day of filming.
Love this but the ole guy with the big beard definitely didn’t need to be saying all those big words
