Hey There! Thanks for your kind comment. I try to do a lot of research before making any video. It's all part of the fun process! Thanks for watching the video!
Most of these laws were made before 1957, when Malaya, Sarawak and North Borneo were still under British rule. So it was the British who made these laws. Why did they make these laws? Besides taxation, fines imposed for breaking the law were a good source of income for the Rulers. Note that a $100 (hundred Malaysian Dollars) then would be worth about RM100 000 now.
These laws might sound unusual, but many make good sense. They're about safety, good manners and making sure you don't hurt people. Thanks for watching!
China doesn't have these laws and it should . They actually SPIT in restaurants and the street . Nothing wrong with what the colonial powers past on to Malaysia.
@@heidilove9643 Actually I do agree with these law towards improving our country and people. If it does make a good sense to us, why not?? Unless if they made a law based only for their matters such taxes charged that will be give to their properties. Then it’ll surely be neglected.
Weird but they come from weird situations as well...sometime ago people used used to go exercise in the morning and hock one out anywhere and everywhere... further, people who used to chew betel leaves and areca nuts leaving red stains when they spit... People are more civilised these days..
Hey! Thanks for watching the video and commenting! Penal Code 425 comes with many examples of mischief. Anyway, not all of them are weird, they are meant to prevent unlawful acts and to prevent bad horrible habits of the local people or to prevent accidents such as no spitting and no crossing the roads within the zebra crossing proximity.
There are a lot of antiquated laws/rules that need to be reviewed and revised or rescinded. Hope this video gets the attention of the authorities to tidy up the rules to prevent unnecessary embarrassment. Thanks for highlighting bro.
I think every country has some old laws that somehow stuck around. I believe there is a law in the UK that says "It's illegal to handle a fish suspiciously". 😂

I think many countries have silly (old) laws. Check out the video Vice made about old British laws. "It's illegal to handle a fish suspiciously". Haha!
Most of the law created before the Independence Day is actually based on the British Malaya law created based on the British Penal Law during that period of time.
