This will make you smile. They were promoting their second album and had an exclusive tie in with the record label on Classic Rock which I think I got the first 3 or 4 that way. Anyhow, they were asking Todd and Fitzy what does Myles do to relax and unwind after a gig, and they said that he would deny it to the bitter end but that he secretly sits in the bus looking at PUPPY PICTURES!! He's got a handful of sites that have puppy adoptions, and when they are traveling from one city to another Myles is searching the web for puppy!

It needed a better intro. Hate to say it but that intro was generic. Overall, I enjoyed the song. His voice sort of reminded me of Chris Cornell in this song.

I heard this song was written in a 3 person (or I should say animal). I heard miles and wife couldn’t get back to the house durning ands electric storm. They had a new puppy or dog that they watch in another state threw there home security camera , so Myles wrote this song as what the dog was feeling trapped with thunder n lightning , you know how most dogs react to a bad thunder storm. The hide under a coach or bed. . The hate it. But I guess the song is about what his dog was doing threw out the whole storm . When I heard this story. Myles shot to number one for his lyrical ability. He a master sound writer. And slash can make his own riff blend perfectly with the tone of the storm. Which turns out to be the tone of the song . ✌🏼

SLASH describes “Fill My World,” “Musically, I came up with it at my studio. It was just the opening riff, and then the underlying chord changes started to come out in my mind. I wasn’t sure if I was going to pursue it or not, but I had to record it and make a demo. I thought, I don't know what the guys are going to think… Because it has a certain sentimental kind of feel to it. But I sent it to Myles, and he came back with these heartfelt lyrics. I thought it was about the loss we’ve all been suffering during this dark period, and then he told me it was about his dog. [laughs] I said, ‘Well, you know, everybody has had somebody that they love affected by this, so…’” MYLES KENNEDY adds “So, I have this little Shih Tzu named Mozart - he tries to act all tough, but he's really not. And on one occasion we couldn't get home, our flight was delayed and there was a really intense storm over our house. We have one of those little camera systems to keep an eye on the dog when we can't be there, and we saw him just freaking out. It was heartbreaking to watch. It terrified the little guy. So, the narrative of the song is inspired by what I imagined he might have been thinking as it all went down. And his plea to us to come home. When you listen to it, it could apply to a relationship between humans. But I thought it was interesting, at least for me, to sing it from Mozart's perspective. And to be really honest, as I was singing the song in the studio, at one point you can hear my voice crack a little bit. It was getting to me. So, it's definitely sung from the heart. And I'm man enough to admit it!”

@@joshgates Their both about his dogs, but "The One You Loved Is Gone" was about one named Cinnamon. I think he went on tour and when he came back, the dog was gone. (its about that)

i am so so glad that Slash is still keeping old school rock music alive. I mean, this just sounds like one of those rock songs from the golden era of rock music
@Ayan Majumdar well what i mean by Golden Age is, there used to be way MORE rock bands with huge diversifications. But present rock bands are mostly stereotypes, and lacks the raw feel of pure downhearted and mechanical performance.

Today i learned that the song was written from a dog's perspective , inspired by Myles' dog .. i believe it takes not just being emotional but also having balls to write a song like this , it meant a lot to me and i know a whole lot of people think alike.. thank you Myles , the world needs more people like you

Even though this isn't one of my favorite songs by them I will say that the fact that Myles wrote this song for his dog is so sweet and pure! And I can relate because second my mom and I leave the house to go anywhere our German Shepherd starts crying and going berserk

Reason why he works so well with this band is because he’s the one in control. He tried to take control of GNR too after the illusion tour but Axl had the same plan. A clash of two egos lead to that bands demise, nothing more nothing less

So per Instagram this song is written from Myles Kennedys dogs perspective. Myles could not get home due to a storm that was raging on and they could see the dog being scared in the storm in their CCTV.

Just keeps getting better and better... been watching slash make history since appetite...was my first ever show and very few players ever held a candle to him and I've seen all the greats from Santana and Clapton to Alex lifeson and Joe satriani and Derek trucks...

@@mrbrownstone233 Because too many guitar fans/players think that all he does is play standard pentatonic licks, and though they're actually terribly wrong, he does play a rock-based style, because he purposely chooses to do such, and for some people, a guitar player must be like Steve Vai and write songs in every mode imaginable, or use "pitch axis theory" like Satriani, and/or do dive bombs and all sorts of crazy technical gimmicks and cream 300 notes per second and to be able to talk music theory like a professor to be considered great.

Hell, even Yngwie Malmsteen said Slash is "Great, the quintessential rock guitarist" and he has a long, documented history of trashing everyone about their playing at some point, LOL - including even Satch & Vai. (Not that he doesn't think they're great, or doesn't respect them, rather he's just been critical of certain songs/licks/techniques they employ). So I appreciated his words about The Slasher. If I were stranded on a desert island, Slash would be the one guy whose records I'd want. Someday I wish he'd release a full album of instrumentals.
Another great song from the best duo of contemporary rock 'n' roll.. Kudos to Mr. Kennedy on his latest solo "idles of march", but I´ll always LOVE anything he composes with Slash and the Conspirators. Please, Slash, come to Brazil again ASAP.

@@rogierguitar It is a proper studio album. It was just recorded live off the floor. Exactly how they used to do it back in the day. Bands like The Beatles and Zepp did all their stuff the same. Most everyone did. Then they go back and overdub some things. I agree the production could’ve been a little more enhanced beyond JUST the live takes, but it is still a studio album : -)
I love that this dropped on an anniversary of Scott Weiland's passing.... I'm sure it's a coincidence but I will always have this as Scott's song due to the fact he filled my world with incredible music and memories for decades. RIP Scott.
