    I’ve got these. The only downside is they’re not very lawnmower friendly when you’ve got corners as the lawnmower can’t get into the round bends Easy but they do look great but it just means you have to get the strimmer out to cut the tight corners..

    This seems like a quality product. However, getting the connectors in is a problem.
    1. This should be explained better in the product instructions.
    2. This and other videos about installation should mention the tip Karen C mentioned below about using Dawn dishwashing soap to make installation MUCH easier.
    3. The product manufacturer apparently didn’t drill the two holes at each end deep enough because I had issues getting the connectors to go in far enough on more than one edging strip.
    4. The connectors need to be made of a stronger material to avoid breakage while inserting them. They broke more than once during installation in my landscaping.

    • @rockygardens
      @rockygardens  3 роки тому +2

      Yes definitely the connector holes are deep enough. I just use a rubber mallet and Tap lightly and the connectors should punch through a little more.
      But yes I hear where your coming from.

    Use a few drops of liquid dish soap (like dawn or whatever kind you may use) in each pinhole before pushing in the pins it will be a big help to you on inserting the joining pins they will slide right in like a hot knife thru butter by hand with no fight at all :)

    One thing I would do different is spike the weed barrier. My weed barrier now is pulling away from the edges from freeze thaw heaving, it was only spiked with the short barrier spikes. I would like to see longer spikes as well, from what I saw of them briefly in the package. My professionally installed concrete and brick is heaving/broke and popping up also. C IL is not a harsh winter like Canada is.

I plan to dig a 3" deep square trench around the bottom of the plinth, line with weed-proof fabric, then use this border with the nails on the inside, in a square, then fill with white rocks. Can this be done with this type of border? Could I just cut where I want each corner to be?
