Will a trimmer damage the edging
@@jeffwolfe5116 no. Shouldn't. I have an electric one, but I used my gas echo a couple times and it seemed to hold up.
It's from the piston rings
Why wouldn't the flat edge and spikes go on the inside of the circle?
It's because the wheel of the lawnmower run on the flat part.
Good product but very expensive
Can you install that so the bottom is on the inside? I’d like to put it the opposite way and then cover the bottom part with mulch.
No, you can not. It won't bend that way. The bottom part will be in the way. It will rip down the middle where you bend it
@@rockygardens Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated. Are you still happy with it?
Not a problem. Yes I am happy with it. Still holding strong!
I’ve got these. The only downside is they’re not very lawnmower friendly when you’ve got corners as the lawnmower can’t get into the round bends Easy but they do look great but it just means you have to get the strimmer out to cut the tight corners..
I purchased this kit and sent my results back in and haven’t heard anything in 7 days. Not sure if I did something wrong. I sealed the kit and placed it in the post office drop box.
It's still $10 for 4 feet. I think it's a cheap price to pay for a quality product that lasts long.
Why not put the stakes on the bed side, so they can be covered up by mulch?
If you put the steaks on the inside, you can not bend the edgeing
Thanks for this. We're going to be putting a 12" wide border around the base of a sculpture on a plinth in our side yard. I plan to dig a 3" deep square trench around the bottom of the plinth, line with weed-proof fabric, then use this border with the nails on the inside, in a square, then fill with white rocks. Can this be done with this type of border? Could I just cut where I want each corner to be?
Yes, you definitely can do that!
The flat edge and spikes goes on the inside
No they don't But thanks
Will these work with a straight edge bed if I cut the corners at 45 degrees
Backwards, no?
Great tips there thanks a million - especially about nailing them in only half way so you can re-adjust everything!.......By the way - I'm noticing a good 'ol Irish twang there - whats the craic there? 😀
Not a problem. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe. 🙏
I would have flipped it and staked inside the bed, then cover it with mulch. Because it's ugly.
it says it only bends 70 degrees having fitted it do you think itll bend to 90
You can try. I know one of my jobs I bent it too much. And it started to tear.
I think its the seal between the engine and the coil, check this video (how to replace a leaking oil seal generator)and (how to replace a leaking oil seal)
Would this look weird on a steep hill since the lines in the segments would then be angled? Great and useful video. Thank you.
No not at all. I've seen many people do it on hill and slopes. Looks pretty good. Thank you!
you put them in backwards
No I didn't. Check the website. Thanks
What tool did you use to cut through the rubber?
You can use a Sawzall or a sharp blade and cut what you can on one side then bend it
Wow thats Smart however you have to be careful enjoy 😮😮😮😮❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤ ...
Was able to find this at Sam’s club for $7/ 4 foot section. Brick tone.
Why does everyone install the stuff backwards? The stakes should be on the inside.
Why does everyone think they know how to install this stuff? I did my research before I installed it so maybe you should do your research before you comment. Type ecoborder into Google and look at the 1st picture that pops up. Thanks for the view. Please like and share 👍
@@rockygardens Research? How about common sense aesthetics ? It looks like crap with the stakes showing.
It's not common sense if they sold millions of this product.
@@Truthwarrior-lx9ib I think it can be installed both ways. If you want a mowing edge you can install it with the stakes on the outside for the mower wheel to run along. If you are using it to edge a flower bed you can install it with the stakes on the inside. I agree with you actually, I prefer the look of it with the stakes on the inside covered up with mulch/gravel, that's how I used it and it looks very neat and tidy. I guess it's personal preference.
Outstanding. Great product demonstration.
Thank you. I tried my best 👌
I’m trying to install this product in a circle but those little thingy broke thru the border how can I make it to stay together I don’t mind if it has a little separation but I need it to stay connected help
Hi there thank you for watching the video. So something that I've done previously is I will lie down the Edging roughly and put your nails in halfway through to keep the shape then I install the connectors while I am able to move the edging up-and-down.
Breather tube from the valve cover freezes in the cold. Crankcase cant vent and as pressure builds it pushes oil out the seals. Just take the little rubber hose from the air box to the valve cover off
Have a child to hold the phone.
I would. But I don't bring kids with me to my work site. Can be dangerous
I also have a Firman 3650 I bought at Costco. It worked great here and there for 2 years and then mine started leaking oil from the same place. Did you ever figure this out?
Mine was running on a level cement floor, it wasn’t leaning. I cleaned up the oil and it seems fine now but I don’t trust it…
Hey. Yes mine seems to be running fine now. As it's level now. But I have not had a problem since. I worked at Costco for 9 years. Trust me the return policy is amazing. You can return it anytime. Just tell them it's not working and you can get a new one.
I like how the tutorials back 4 years ago or more were low quality, most people don't lie about it,it doesn't waste peoples time, made by a phone, and poor edit skills Wish I could turn back times to the good old days
Facts people back then didn't click bait just got to the point
So true
Where did you get it?
Costco
Thank you for the video.
We live this , we use your method when we go camping! Thank you soo much, it lights our place really good.🙏
I'm glad you like it!
These do not work on my soil. I must have some clay or something under the ground, because my spikes just bend and warp as I put them in the ground. I've tried drilling holes in the ground, and that doesn't even work as I don't have a long enough drill bit for it to work with.
Get galvanized 12" spikes from home depot
I have a firman 10,000 watt generator and leaking oil not sure from where. Only ran it twice so far break in period had no issues with load noticed oil dripped i thought maybe start with washer to oil plug
Hey. Yes I looked everywhere and it took a while to find. But so far so good. Once it got delivered to my house and I unboxed it. I had to tighten some bolts for the delivery I guess shook some lose
Why are the nails on the “outside?
I'm not too sure I do not make the product I just installed it and that's where they went. Once they're nailed in flush you can't see them
It’s backwards and not lifetime
So it is installed correctly. But thanks Also Recycle tires can last a lifetime it's rubber
I decided to give your method a try since I didn't have the necessary pole to bounce my tire against. VIOLA! It worked. Thank you for this simple method of clearing water out of a tire, and I have a really bad back. I still managed.
Happy to help!
Can I not just use the shop vac? 😬
Thank you!!!
When bending do u have to cut it a little without cutting it completely off?
For me I just left it in the sun for a little and it got it pretty soft and it bent pretty easy. But if you're doing any sharp corner you could always add a little Slice on the outside to get the angle
The pre-stamped Holes for the Plastic Spikes are Filled In with the Thick Rubber too so I took a Perry Knife amd pushed thru each hole to make a + Plus sign and the Spikes went right thru no problem it also made a + sign in the Layer of Weed Lining fabric underneath so it went right thru that as well and straight into the ground in one ez step. I used a Rubber Mallet instead of a Hammer. Sorry about the Terminology this is all new to me lol..
I bought this yeateerday and was'nt sure how to Install it so Thank you for this. Being a single female I can do this myself now and don't even have to weed whack it. Win Win !! Thank God. I am learning so much info from these Video's. What a Blessing. Happy Fall Everyone ❤🙏 🍂
That part. Good to hear, where do you buy it.
Same here, just lost my hubby. I want to eliminate weed whacking completely.
You can purchase at Costco
What is the best brand?
The brand is called ecoborder
Good stuff, I liked the idea of mowing around it with no issues. I need to use on my garden bed so the mulch doesn’t run off with rain. Looks nice around the trees the way you designed it.
That part, I want to be able to mow around it or over it
Frost heave EVERY SPRING...NAILS POP...(will definitely give you something to look FORWARD to EVERY YEAR)
This product sucks! The side pegs are near too impossible to get all the way in to connect and bring two pieces together. Good luck with any angle 110 degrees or less.
I didn't have no issues. You must not know how to install it. But that's alright thanks for the comment please subscribe
They should tell you to use dawn dish soap, this makes the joining easy. The product is very tough, flexible and durable.
Great video and looks like the comments are great too!!
Use a few drops of liquid dish soap (like dawn or whatever kind you may use) in each pinhole before pushing in the pins it will be a big help to you on inserting the joining pins they will slide right in like a hot knife thru butter by hand with no fight at all :)
Thank you so much!
@@dastony1969 My pleasure my Friend. Glad that I was able to be of some help :)
From GB, great tip should be pinned. I used the dish soap today and the pins went straight in and connected no problem. I also liked the tip in the video only putting the pegs half way in to be able to get the weed barrier tarp underneath
putting mulch on top of weed fabric will turn into compost/soil and new seeds will take root on top of the fabric.
It'll take several years before mulch breaks down into compost.. if you put soil on top of the weed tarp and under the mulch will have weeds Galore. So the smartest and quickest way is to put the mulch directly on top of the weed tarp
Moves way to much with camera/cell phone got dizzy
When you're the only one doing the job oh, you do what you can
Hi Qhat was the name of the garden edging that you used and what is it called
Ecoborder
looks backwards
No it's definitely installed correctly. But I see what you mean
