- We received a request for an overhaul of a Bills brothers firebird type guitar.
It is a Firebird type guitar by Bills brothers, a sister brand of Bill Lawrence of Moridaira Gakki in Japan (Maurice of acoustic guitars is famous in Japan).
The work done was overhaul (parts, metal parts polishing, fingerboard polishing, fretboard polishing, body polishing, etc.), jack replacement, and toggle switch (pickup selector) replacement.
It was overhauled. The jack and selector looked weak, so I suggested to replace them.
I haven't touched a Firebird type guitar for a long time, but the neck looks slender compared to the size of the body, and I feel uneasy when I hold it.
It's an old guitar, so I was even more scared...
Still, the sound of the body that makes you go "Ooooh! I'm addicted to the sound of the body.
To be honest, I had some concerns about the frets and the quality of the guitar, but if I had to solve all of them, the gap between the cost and the quality that the customer wants would be huge.
However, the quality of the guitar was very good.
I don't know if the fret quality is good or bad anymore... lol

I had one of these guitars in 74 and sold it i look at the old pictures i have of it and weep stupid kid i also let go a 60 335 tdc in factory black try finding one of those at any peice ha ha AND a68 sg special with vibrola in black i hate myself some times ha ha

That was a great trick with the glue stick. But how did you clean the glue off of the tuner cap?
How would you recommend getting tarnishing out of gold hardware the saddles on my ibanez have started to look dull from my skin touching them, brilliant work by the way absolutely loving how in depth your work is
In the case of gold-plated parts, polishing will cause the plating to come off.
In my case, I use a reduction reaction to clean the gold parts.
Of course, it is not possible to clean them perfectly.
In order to keep the gold parts from tarnishing, you may want to try coating them with car wax.

自分もbill's brothersのストラトをオーバーホールしているところですが、素体の作りはなかなか良いですね。ゴトーのパーツも悪くない。ただ電装系は安い部品のせいで不具合が出てる印象ですね。ジャックは同じく交換しました。
正直言うと木工とか塗装の仕上がりとか気になり点はあったのですが、きちんと鳴ると言うところは問題なさそうな印象を受けました。
セットネックとボルトオンでクオリティが違うかもしれませんが。
電装系も問題なさそうといえば問題なかったのですが、操作した時の操作感がかなりイマイチでしたので、交換させていただきました。
ジャックとかは今まで見たことのない形のジャックでした…。

It is an electric guitar brand of Morris, a famous acoustic guitar maker in Japan.
Watched a few your videos and do all the guitars have god truss rods as the work on these, if any, is never shown in these.
