I’m 66 years old and still love working out and seeing and hearing Sam’s enthusiasm for this old school gym equipment is such a treat. Congratulations on your terrific nostalgia workouts this week !!!❤
1 like 5 pushups. torture me, guys Edit: damn guys thx for the 500 like. I think i don't wanna be too greedy, and i ll take the 2500 push-up. Thank you for the motivation, and wish me good luck.
The Mr. Olympia he’s talking about is Lee Haney, “Stimulate not Annihilate” is great for experienced lifters, but a new guy in the gym might misunderstand that statement.
But i don’t get that, my old gym buddy, we were 18-19 years old both natural and he was easy the biggest guy in our gym, he was not cheating any meal tho like really crazy disciplined and good genetics the dude but we were more like annihilating tho, I wasn’t training as hard as he was cause i was more serious into soccer that time, but i was training hard too especially legs and we were doing leg extensions killer sets like really stupid stuff with lots of reps like for example 12 reps max weight, 10 reps 3 plates less 10 reps 3 plates less just an example we were pushing really hard on that machine (he’s now in other city since +3 years), I have the biggest legs in my gym everyone says that and I still do these sets, so how is annihilate bad, this guy was going crazy on every workout and it paid out big time, we were even working out 3-4 hours mostly and that 4-5 times a week + soccer, I think you have to annihilate if you’re natural lol cause the stimulation guys look the same since 5 years
And also people say don’t workout longer than 2 hours, well we were working out 3-4 hours many times and he was natural and the biggest mf in that gym, could he have been bigger with less hard training and shorter workouts ? Maybe, idk.. but he was the biggest guy, and the hardest worker, and that with 18-19, guy looked like on steroids in that age and all that from working out 3-4 hours many times and training hard af (annihilation), and till this day I’ve never seen someone who doesn’t go hard af beeing big af (natural) all the guys who have muscles really just use more weight and train harder that’s literally it go as hard as you can but if something feels wrong you might listen to your body and go harder again next week
These videos are so great because anyone who doesn't watch Sam can just come to watch any random video and they'll probably find some good tidbits of information for helping them get in shape. And it feels like a hangout rather than a specific this is how you should work out video.
That car speech was so good I had to listen to it again so motivating to oppose the nonsense in life and keep it moving Anger toward random shit is the main thing I talk to myself about to end, living a life of peace is a hard pursuit but worth it
My old gym in the army got rid of a ton of old hammer strength machines and benches, steel plates, etc. and replaced it all with power racks bumper plates and crossfit garbage
The whole rant about old school equipment being better…. Couldn’t agree more. We have two gyms in my rink dink town. One is brand new very clean, nice atmosphere, tons of tvs, the works. Then we have this massive gym with way more equipment but it’s so ghetto. Very dirty, tons of lights missing, broken mirrors no upkeep what so ever. Restrooms never get cleaned. Nasty, and no one is ever in there at any time of day. I have that gym almost completely to myself everyday and I couldn’t be more happy. I just laugh at the dudes trying to get big in the other gyms that iv labeled as the elliptical gym. I have a membership at both and go to the nice gym for cardio and the ghetto gym to scream and yell slam weights that are from the 80s. Both gyms are less than 5 mins from home. Completely spoiled.
I turn 94 next month. I've been old school since Pearl Harbor. I bench 275, 6' .. 240lbs, 11% body fat and have never been on meds. The key for me was at 65 the protein became more accessible and when creatine powder became commercially available, I actually packed on 9 lbs of muscle per year for 4 years straight. I also do knees over toes back wards sprints up a hill for 3/4 of a mile once per day. I.F. really helps too. I think that added 20 years to my life and reveresed the aging process.
@@Dennis.10242 I'm fully bulked it's hot here in England I'm 5 9 198lb . My arms and forearms and legs and shoulders are always huge and lean and I been wearing a vest all month . If I took it off and they saw the midsection maybe I'd get different response 😂 I'm about 20lb off of abs
My gym had two leg press machines, one that moved the seat, and one that moved the plate you press on. Originally I liked the seat-moving one, but then I grew to love the plate-moving one. But then they got rid of that, and now both are seat-moving. I don't know why I prefer the plate-moving one, but I wish they had one still 😭
I have a routine I codenamed the 343 triangle. It’s 3 sets of cable push downs then superset to 3 sets of straight bar curls then superset again to 3 sets of close grip ez bar curls. Rest 4 minutes, repeat 3 times
I used to train at commercial gyms I’ve been at an old school gym for about 6-7 months now and yeah the machines arnt as nice but my sessions now are way better, I get a better pump I feel stronger and I know have a real sense of how much weight I can move because of the lack of pulleys on the machine. Old school gyms are the one
Hey Sam, I noticed that you don't internally rotate your wrist on your FDB. You should try that and see if it help activate that bicep. Love your videos. Looking massive. 💪
@@alphagaming9004watch them. A ton of times youll see them look over 8-12 times and secretly take pics and stuff without him knowing. They know who he is
Bro you used that preacher bench backwards! At least for me, it’s more comfortable/better reps when I put my arm on the angled part, you can keep your elbow down the entire time.
Yeah I never liked the tricep pushdown or dip tricep exercises. Seemed like a lot of effort for so-so effect. Also the tricep extensions from behind or the overhead triceps bars or the lying tricep extensions which might be the best. Really regular bench pressing develops triceps to a certain level for which the previous exercises are all less effective, so no real progress. Sulek uses more chest and shoulders and less triceps so the exercises seem somewhat effective for him. Plus he goes Sulek on things. I eventually found a variation that was super effective. Basically the one-arm overhead tricep extension but kneeling, there's some more details to get it right (just ask). After that never had any imbalance between tricep and bicep, and of course your arms get bigger.
i mean, i would LOVE to just workout and not have a manual job to go to every single day. After a hard days graft going to the gym is a must!! however lookin forward to it is another story. Gettin it done however u can and getting home is priority
