Very good instructions imo. You tie very much like i do with hair bugs but much better. A couple of details are different from my procedures but almost the exact same. Thanks for posting. I started over 50 yr ago and had to figure it out on my own and i am surprised how close we ended up on technique. I hope many beginners find your vids. The one thing i would like to see is more detail on thread. I started with a real heavy rod wrapping thread from Herters. I may still have a little of it in my supplies. I used mostly body hair and still do. I tie mostly variations of Tappleys bugs. I sometimes leave the faces as tied and sometimes i smear on a little 6000 glue or shoe goo which firms up the face to create a different sound. The tapered body allows the rear of the bug to sit low in the water as a frog or injured minnow does

Gunnar, some people say you should never put a base of thread when spinning hair, as it prevents it from doing so. Others claim you should ALWAYS lay a base of thread, no matter what. What’s your take?
