12:26 The actor portraying "Ghora" is actually Rao Ramesh, the actor who played MP Siddappa Naidu in "Pushpa:The Rise", and also the CBI Officer in KGF: Chapter 2. I needed to watch the movie twice to recognize him, and even then, I caught him only by his voice. Also, SS Rajamouli decided to use close up tracking shots during the horse riding sequences, especially in the desert sequences (coming up in the next part), which gave the entire chase sequence a very kinetic feel. Obviously, using vehicle tracking shots in the desert was very hard work, due to the weight sinking in, so Rajamouli's crew took a lightweight small car, stripped out all of the interior, mounted a camera jib on top of it, fitted wide tyres, and finally got a vehicle capable of doing the tracking shots in the deserts. Also, all the major artists in this movie actually learnt how to ride horses. Ram Charan Teja was already an experienced horse rider, but the villain needed a lot of training so that he can ride his horses by himself in the shots without any body doubles. All in all, this movie had catapulted Ram Charan Teja to his initial stardom. However, a series of bad movie choices and massive flops dragged him down, until he got his break again with "Rangasthalam", and now he is a great star again.
Great words but can't agree to few words in your last paragraph. Ram Charan didn't made series of bad choices. After Magadheera, he was involved in Orange which was the bold move then and today is called as a classic evergreen film. Because of its response then, he inclined towards commercial subjects like Racha, Nayak, Yevadu, Dhruva before Rangasthalam which were box office hits. So please don't rub them off with your words.
Okay wait! Ram Charan did all of his own horseback riding stunts in this movie? I was actively trying to figure out what was him and what was a double. The part where he jumps from the horse to the chariot confused me so much because I was watching it going, “That looks like they really made him stand on the horse and jump.
@@Sharpe1502 Yes, it was Ram Charan Teja and Dev Gill (the villain) who did their own sequences of horse riding. They might have used some wire-work to jump from horse to horse, but al the high speed chases were done by the artists themselves

This is when I got to know SS Rajamouli 🔥 in 2009. This film blew me away. Apart from unnecessary commerical aspect and songs in this movie, it's one of the finest Telugu movie.
When I was in 6th standard, I used to troll South Indian movies. When my Science teacher came to know about it, she asked for my pen drive and the next day, she filled the drive with this movie.... After seeing it, I had a different perspective then towards their movies....
Magadheera has been the first SSR movie I haven’t been crazy about. I was expecting to love it. I actually preferred Yamadonga to this one. Loved this villain and the action scenes though.
The opening song is a remale of the 90s hit Bangaru Kodipetta, one of the 1st songs choreographed by Prabhudeva. The actor in the original song is Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan's dad, and he is the one doing the dance battle with Ram Charan in this remake! They even included footage of him from the original song. The same is a treat for people who know that, otherwise it's just a bit weird 😄
My mom said my first movie ever was Spiderman 2 (non-theatre) and my first Telugu movie was Magadheera & 2nd was Robo (theatre) and I used to watch them on repeat on TV and sometimes even on the toilet. Masterpieces

I don't like first half of this movie. But 2nd half is very good. Now you watched Rajamouli-Ramcharan combo. You should also watch Rajamouli-NTR combo. There are 3 movies prior to RRR, Student No.1(Rajamouli's debut), Simhadri( it made NTR one of the superstars in telugu and it's Rajamouli's 2nd movie) and Yamadonga(one of the best in terms of NTR's acting and dance ). One thing you should remember while watching these movies, you should watch it with 2k indian lens

Racha was the only bad choice but a hit movie, orange was the only flop but a good movie with amazing songs
