Watched your entire 22LR 457 build series. I've built the same rifle with the Arken EP-5 and 21 inch Lilja barrel. This barrel puts Eley Match or Tenex in .3 groups on average. You might consider the Lilja if tighter groups are the point. First day out, I figured there'd be a lot of lot testing. Started with slowest lots I could purchase . . . immediately ordered several bricks after the first 50 rounds. Bore scoped the barrel as delivered. Couldn't believe the obvious care taken to get a chatter mark free bore and polish. Perfection.
I'm amazed on how guns in 2023 just won't shoot. I'm not judging your shooting. it just doesn't make any sense, we are shooting from a bench and simply my guess is that guns doesn't want to group. Thanks for the video, you have a new subscriber, cheers from Argentina.
Thanks for the Sub. This gun shoots pretty good. The biggest issue is the wind. I need to start running and showing a wind flag close to the muzzle. I appreciate your comment and keeping it respectful… There are few days that the wind conditions are favorable when I am off. This was an attempt to show the the effects of the wind on a .22. It goes to real time around 3:40 mark. This video also helped me pick up about 10 points in my local BR matches. The Effects Of The Wind on The .22lr ua-cam.com/video/7f2kTUWRSmw/v-deo.html. I am going to attempt to do another video on the wind and a.22lr.. CZ 457 Build: 1st Shots in the PDC Custom Chassis ua-cam.com/video/HBBfpVVUhEE/v-deo.html
Good shooting bro I don't trust some of these people who come up with these perfect scores because I have shot this and the best I could do was 19 good shooting brother thanks. Beagleman
I just bought a used Weaver T36 for a RimX being built, it will be switched back and forth with the Arken EP5. I’m planning on using one piece mounts for both. How does your scope work with the Flyswatter Challenge, I imagine it’s good at a fixed distance and small targets, hopefully so since that’s my plan. Good video
@@lutherprice2062 It works really well at a fixed distance. You will get more mirage on hot sunny days. Also will see a pulse from your heartbeat depending on how you hold the rifle.
@@BehindTheTrigger0 I like fixed power scopes, I have several SWFA, my favorites are the 16X and 20X but I’ve switched to Arken for better glass and good turrets and I’m finding out the heartbeat thing is real. Thanks for the advise, I’ve found more of your videos, good stuff
I like all the project guns guys build I get it..but I'm not sure if thay are really after accurate rifles. Why not just get a accurate rifle anschutz 40x something that always shoots.
40x are getting harder and harder to come buy. The 457 build was a fraction of the cost of an Anschutz. Honestly the 457 build shoots almost as good as my 1411 and Kimber 82G. I am always looking for something different. I am constantly battling the wind on my local range. The 5 min time limit makes it a challenge to adjust hold over on the fly.. Definitely makes things fun and interesting.
@BehindTheTrigger0 your correct my friend. I have a couple really pretty kimbers that just don't shoot like the price tag..my son bought a 457 and tells me I gotta go shoot it . I'll take him up on it..he says it will shoot bug holes..I think that's where all my good ammo went..
@@johnkizziah108 I was lucky when I got my Kimber, got it from CMP. You may need to replace the firing pin spring. The bolt was left cocked and sealed from the factory back in the 80’s. When the Gov cut the rifles open to check serial numbers before they released them to CMP around 2006 then received the last of them around 2010 ish… The 457 is probably one of the best valued rifles you can get. I have 2 my self.

I shot the challenge yesterday with my CZ ProVarmint, all stock except a trigger spring. I swatted 16 of them 😄. Fun challenge. Thanks for the video!

How has the tool less feature on the PDC chassis held up? Come loose any on its own?
I have had no issues with the tool less feature. It stays nice and snug.

Thank you
What mag on your scope do you use for this type of shooting? looks a nice rig.
Thanks. It’s an older Weaver T36 fine cross hair. The Sighttron fixed 36 SI is a nicer scope for about the same price.
