  • The inspiration for Aussie Blues/Roots artist, Claude Hay's second album Deep Fried Satisfied was born out of the guilt ridden love affair he had with fried food which was magnified when touring USA in 2008. It's choc full of p-funk style choruses and slide driven blues riffs. His particular affectation to New York style pizza is the inspiration for Get Me Some, the main single off the album, a toe-tapping, bluesy-funkified catchy tune that will make Australians want to go out and find the closest New York style pizza joint to see what all the fuss is about.

I Saw Claude and the Gentle Enemies at the Loft Gold Coast on Saturday 12th. A small venue and crowd but the best live show I have seen from 3 brilliant musos in 20 years. Unbelievable! Bought 2 CDs Lovin them. Kudos to Claude & the boys. You deserve a long and rewarding career in music. I will be talking about that show for years. It was like Urge Overkill meets John Butler. Clever riffs, great dynamics, and songs that you feel like you know hearing for the first time. I should not do this band the disservice by branding them with a genre. They transcend so much stuff, and it is so much fun you just sit there and giggle at how good they are. Just go and see them or buy their music, you won't be disappointed.

Just caught this guy live at Blues at the Briars 02/02/2013 and it was some of the maddest blues I've heard, I reckon he had everyone from 8 months to 80 years up and digging his beat. Look forward to seeing him live again real soon...
