I just finished printing my very first helmet (Hanta Sero) and about ready to start post processing and hooking up electronics, so these videos really help prepare me for what to expect in the future!
Man i love your content, i found it from a random yt short back in oct of 22. I didnt realize how much ground 3d printers have advanced and what you could do with them. Im a big surperhero fan and everything you build is right up my alley. Love your content. Only recommendation i could make is maybe do a video showing off your helmets 😂

Biggest take away from this is Frank had no idea how this was all going to be when he got to work. Sometimes I let it stop when I dont have a complete plan. Plans change and thats ok. Getting started is the key.
Love all the content. Just set up my second printer and it dawned on me of the power consumption. How much do you spend on electricity for all your printing?

So much work and engineering goes into making these suits. 😅 I’m still yet to even finish a helmet let alone the whole suit. I will get it at some point. I made the mistake of letting it be known at work that I 3d print so coworkers keep asking for stuff. Lol So far I have custom 3d modeled 3 parts and working on a forth. Your videos inspire me. Just had to skip forward to this one just to see how it's all gone. love the way you owned up to missing loads out. we have done the same with our bus build so now going back and filling in the gaps :D

Great insight again frank. As you know your build has been my go to for inspiration and guidance. I would however like a closer look at how you’ve done the buckles/Velcro on the chest back and neck. I think that is a great way to attach and put on/take off. Even the elastic in the jaw, great idea

Are the suits and masks for sale on the internet
Frank, I noticed that a lot of pictures the back of the biceps on the mark 39 are white, and the front with the horizontal lines is gray. You can keep yours just how it is without fixing it, or you can fix it if you want. I will be fixing my mistake, I think if you look on your Starboost Hot Toys figure it shows the white on the back.

I spy parts of the new suit on the ground in the background and some of the pieces look familiar to the ones I’m printing 🙂 can’t wait for the new build videos it will be awesome to have some video guidance on the same suit I’m attempting to print.

Love your videos! I use many of your tips for printing my own Halo MK IV suit!
For my white and gold mk 85 suit im working on, I came across the same lighting cover as you. Instead of using tape however, I cut out pieces of plastic from the flat sides of a milk jug, and then sanded them a bit. This way, when a light was shone behind it, the light appeared more translucent or whatever the word is, I forgot what that term is called at the moment lol

Hi there, I'm thinking of starting to print one, but I'd like to try to motorize all the features I can. What do you say to using a raspberryPi? I wanted to put in voice control too and it seems to be the “simplest”, I'm a computer scientist so programming in python is very easy for me.

Um Mr.Builts, I’m trying to make my own iron man helmet and my main issue is that I’m trying to hide the sections that come together with wood filler. You see my printer is to small to print the helmet in one shot, so I printed them in pieces. After gluing the helmet together, I tried using would filler to hide the gaps. The issues is that I don’t know how much to sand away the wood filler and how much to apply. When I sand to much you can see the lines where the parts are connected and the filler primer can’t hide that. To little and you just get big glob of wood filler that has a lot of texture when primers is set over it. The wood filler I’m using is the Elmer’s durable wood fillers, the one Uncle Jessy used on his channel. Finally, does bondo have this similar issue, If not I might switch over. Help please 🥲

How do I clear coat metallic paint without ruining the color or making it more glossy then metallic? So basically clear coat it without changing color or anything at all.

How do you scale an adult helmet? Im about 22in round I think but I put that in and it changes everything
For the version 1 chest piece you could print an extra head, shoulders, a stand, and make a life sized bust statute . You could use the cracked shoulder and back piece for the bust and print yourself new parts for your suit. Would make an awesome giveaway prize . Let me know if you do because I would like to enter.

Once again you never fail to make an amazing and informative video I can't wait to see your next video. However I would like to see something like a winter soldier arm or maybe even a Starlord helmet since Gaurdians of the Galaxy volume 3 came out recently.

As you know that pla after a while it gets brittle and breaks easily. That's what's happening to your suit. To avoid any breaking in the future add a layer of epoxy and fiberglass netting on the inside of the suit which gives the suit strength. It will be a little heavier but it will protect your investment and time you put in. Make a piece and add the epoxy then try breaking it. It will be really hard to break. Also the parts that rub together scratching the paint I put on 3m clear laminate vinyl it is invisible. Cars get this put on in areas avoid chipping from rocks and debris from the roads.
You brush the epoxy on to the fiberglass cloth and it dries very fast. Use cheap brushes they will be useless after using .

Question to anyone that has experience. I've been printing props for a few years now. This is a finishing question. What is your go to clear coat or protective layer to prevent minor scratches or scrapes? Right now I just use a gloss or matte clear rustoleum enamel depending on the finish I want. Any suggestions welcome.

I do have a question on paint I have a set of the old mighty morphing Power Ranger coins from 1993 that came with the chrome version of the flip heads, and I am having a hard time with painting them. I have watched video after video, but I got that chrome gold paint by wrist oleum and I have tried three different bases from white silver and metallic silver but as soon as I put that gold on, it is nothing like the cap of that paint bottle I would like the retro 1993 coin gold that came with the morpher but I have not been able to achieve that color yet so any help would be awesome
