Thank you so much! I have a Philodendron bipinnatifidum that started to yellow and I think the roots started to rot. I will make this mix and repot it tomorrow!
These look so awesome. I know you said you’re not giving ratios bc you mix in bulk, but can you give a sense of the moss/heavy husk/orchid bark/medium husk on the anthurium mix? Do you think they’re roughly equal parts? Heavier on one than another? I’ll order a bag in a heart beat if you ship!
Loving the videos! I met your Dad at the last TPIE, very nice guy. We’re building a tropical house here at our garden center in SC and hope it looks half as good as y’all’s amazing greenhouses seen in the videos! Oh and btw I need a variegated banana!!!😝
Doesn't seem like you use soil much. I got everything you mentioned mixed it in a huge tub. The extras like the moss, and lites, I will add to specific plants. Thanks for this incredible video! Unfortunately I can't find chunky coconut husk but I did find something. Hoya 4:34 Anthurium 5:10 Variegate mix with pumice 6:06 Philodendron 6:37
How does vermiculite help with variegation? 🤔🤔 Vermiculite retains water so it’s job is similar to the sphagnum moss… that is in keeping the mix a little more moist. The pumice is similar to perlite and helps with drainage. It does not retain water. At least that’s my understanding…? Can you shed additional light on why you use that blend?
