My goodness those tracks at the end are so dope! I don't know how the algorithm finally got me to see your channel, but oh man am I ever so grateful! So inspirational and so talented!
Your work always makes me feel happy. I like that you present things in an approachable way, and with a touch of humor. And for some reason, this project especially made me smile because it reminded me of what my grandma, who was a music teacher, tried to teach our family: that music is something humans do, and anyone can be musical. You're talented, but generous with your skills and it's just really nice.
This is just awesome. And the music you play on them is really great. I used to turn my nose up at PVC flutes, favoring natural wood, bamboo, etc. However, over the past few years I have purchased several pvc flutes (a Doug Tipple Irish flute, a fujara, a Viking style "bone" flute, and a few others---I really love them.
Ive been waiting for this notification to finally arrive again.... I absolutely adore your videos, guy. It's the highlight of my day. If I were more musically inclined, I'd attempt some of these projects, but for now I'm happy to just watch.
I made a 65mm pseudo-Fujara using this method *Blows into a side chamber before going into the stopper and fipple and thus is played like a side-blown flute. The range of sounds it can make is astonishing. Thanks for the inspiration!
There are drums which can be made from these pipes as well. It would be really interesting to see one of these instruments and the pipe drums playing together.
I was looking for a tuner exactly like that, have been using the gStrings free app for a very long time now but I had some issues with its response time and unclear feedback. But this one seems to solve both those issues, merci beaucoup! Much clearer for microtonal stuff as well hehe
Very impressive to do the series, bass on up chromatic. Of course there there is that natural harmonics vs. that darned equal tempered stuff. A good sample set has to have both. I like what I hear. Could be set to velocity of midi note for the family of harmonics. EWI or just a Clavinet wah funk hitting all the notes.
other than Fiona and Steven from Omina - i have never heard anyone sound this interesting - (and they are not using PVC - i made some after watching yours
I have been viewing a few of your videos and enjoying the content. The largest question looming in my mind was what tuning app does he use. Thank you for addressing the app in this video. Subscribed. Aloha from Hawaii, Thomas
Awesome. The factory where I work, they had these huge water drain pipes and wondered how big a flute can a human play? I mean these were huge, like 10 or 15cm diameter. Thinking a leaf blower might be needed to blow air into it :) .
Hi, Nicolas Love your flutes; lesson and your work. I wonder if I could ask you a technical question!? Simply; if I have a flute that plays really well; and I cut the tube off the flute! So; all I know have is the sound part and about two inchs of pipe in front of where the sound is generated and comes out! If I now blow through the very shortened section (and, again, this is where the sound is generated) ... if I blow through this, will I get a sound ... !? The reason that I ask is that; I have built a 34'' Contrabas flute; the long tube is finished, but not connected to the sound part, but, for the life of me, I cannot get any sound out of the sound part! I would have thought you could create sound through the sound part with it disconnected to the tube part ... !? Hope you can help on this one, as I am now completely stuck ... ! Best wishes ... William (Hampshire UK)
Are these tracks you make available on your Spotify? If yes, how are they named? You make fire sounds in these videos and I'd love to have the few minutes tracks available for streaming! ❤
Great creativity and music. I'm just a bit concerned that the pvc may be a somewhat toxic, if you're putting your lips on it a lot. Maybe add a wooden mouthpiece, to be on the safe side?
Can you pls contakt me, i need your advice My fujara needs help. What do i need to seal the littel tube between the flute and the airtube? At the top. Please help. Axel
never letting this guy near my toilet or sink in fear of him playing my plumbing
I see this as an absolute win
LMAO ghdfhgdfhgd
That is not a problem. Just beware that he might take your plumbing home.
Your overtone playing is so fascinating. I love how many sounds you can make.

PVC pipes were originally designed for music. True facts!
I think too!

Some people walk into a hardware store and see a hardware store, this man sees a music store.
Just got Tunable via your affiliate link, this thing is amazing! So many uses.

Waouh ! Je ne verrai plus les rayons de tubes PVC dans le magasin de bricolage de la même façon. J'imaginerai un concert enchanteur !
Very inspiring! Nothing I do from now on will seem impossible!
On veut un orgue à tuyaux à PVC : multi-jeux (jeu de fonds ,jeu d'anches )
There are drums which can be made from these pipes as well. It would be really interesting to see one of these instruments and the pipe drums playing together.
I had a prototype like this, I have to rebuild one!
J'aime tout le travail sur les harmoniques, tellement fondamentales dans toute musique.
Wow man, you come up with some really cool stuff!!
Incredible. Love your composition.
That was an awesome video, Imagine a pvc khene that would be incredible 😋

So freaking cool. Just curious if you have tried making a flute or horn to go from smaller tubes to larger and vice versa?
I think it helps to maintain the same diameter

Wow ! I want to build one , any plans ?
I wrote a full ebook about my PVC instruments, they are featured with a lot of other ones, available on my Patreon lonly!
have you ever tried FUJARA ?
Of course, one of my favorite flutes!
Bonjour Nicolas. Is there anyway to buy your DIY plans for the Giant overtone flutes without becoming a Patreon member? Thanks. Kieron
For now, only available on Patreon!
There should be a requirement to have this pvc pipe music playing if you have a plumber in your home.
