Thank you for sharing your passion for musical innovations with sincerity and infectious innocence. I own your Aquatic Harp, Beatbox Flute & Nail Violin SP VSTs… Inspirational to my Sonic Universe! 🙏🏾 💗 🎶 👂🏾
I'm from Colombia, and those flutes sound like a colombian Gaita. It is an instrument from the folklore in various regions to the north of the country.
I really liked the rotative trumpet ''elephant roar'' at 4:55. Does anyone know a video where he plays more with this. (and all the other things that he didn't have time for here, basically.)
Im sorry, I guess that’s kind of neat, but it sounds terrible. None of those “instruments” actually produce any sort of musical tone. What’s the point here?
It doesn’t sound terrible. You’re not used to ear those kind of sounds that’s all. Clarinette, flute, trumpet, work on the same principle, the air vibrate into a container, and create sounds. Nicolas made some instruments that sound exactly the same that the original ones made of wood. Here, the tunning is not perfect on every instrument because he doesn’t have time to spend on stage to do it with enough precision. But the point is made. Making those modular instruments from pvc is dope.
there is infinite possibility here, and it actually is fairly hard to tell the difference from a recorder or flute. There is a reason Hans Zimmer bangs on about PVC pipe so much. he uses it all the time in his scores.
Your definition of music is different, maybe. Not all forms of music can be contained within a canvas. Music has evolved over a period of time and it goes around the circles.
Thanks again for the invitation, it was a pleasure to be a part of this evening!
I have followed your FB account and your strange instrument account for years. Very cool to see this Ted talk! Thanks

As a pipefitter, I’m about to be having a lot more fun on the job sites!
0:52 "Wind instruments don't use the container, only the air inside" Well said ! At last a musician who understands physics ! Kudos, fascinating show.
The passion he has for manifesting music out of what some would could consider non-musical is a win for the potentiality of humanity.
Brilliant as usual Nicholas
Greater and greater!
So so cool-the drone instruments are absolutely amazing!
Just awesome!!

This was amazing. As someone who recently started with Irish flute and tin whistle I loved seeing this all spread out in different ways.
You are amazing! Your passion for producing sound is contagious! This is genius on display, so inspiring!

So fascinating I was trying to listen while working but I had to keep watching
Thanks to Nicholas, I can no longer simply walk or cycle past a skip. I have to check it for PVC tubes.
I love how, every time brass playing techniques come up, he instantly dismisses them with "But we don't have time for that"
This is the guy who I want to be when I grow up !!!
This is a great brilliant Man God bless him.
Awesome
Your awesome man, Encore!!
such an underrated one😕
Amazing, what a briliant idea❤
Bravo Nicolas !
Brilliant artist!❤
What a great video
I wonder why he only has so few views, he should have millions.
At 12:00 I was so blown away by the audience too
Hmmmm….That’s pretty neat , good job Bro

Please meet him with Hermeto Pascoal 🤓
And that's how the pyramids were made 🪈 With simple alien technologies
He always has no time to play in brass (vibrating lip) fashion of instruments. Haha!
Great show, really! But IT IS painful to see this lazy audience. People hardly spend applause. Maybe some kind of dentists conference?
I would compliment him but i dont have time

This might be a bit "raw" in sound but as a source gives incredible opportunities of creating music. Nicolas is a great artist and craftsman.
Here comes the deaf participation trophy crowd right on queue 😂

Music has evolved over a period of time and it goes around the circles.
Conclusion: the more complicated it gets, the more annoying it sounds to human ear. So no thanks !!
