HP has made minor updates compared to the older Gen 5 devices for the ProBook 450 G6, an entry-level business laptop from HP aimed at small and medium businesses. The G6 systems are now powered by Intel’s 8th Gen Whisky Lake processors. While the dimensions have been shaved off a little. Let’s take a closer look at the ProBook G6 and see if it is worth purchasing one of these business workhorses.

I've been using this model for 2 years, both for work and for fun. It has never let me down. Even the great design is enough for me to use it.

i have the 440g6 and the screen is somehow similar to g6. it comes with a hazy/cloudy layer which is very painful for the eyes to see. what is the purpose of this and is there a ways to get rid of it?

Great value, I use this laptop everyday and it just manages to manage video editing with 1080p footage.
That was my summary too. Good value business laptop.

What's your gut feeling on the 470 G7?. They appear to have addressed the screen issues with an IPS 300nits screen
Reviewing the 470 G7 as I type for the past two weeks. IPS display is superior compared to the G6 panel, 300 nits brightness and excellent viewing angles. Video out next week! 😃
Is there any over heating issue or fan noise from this laptop??? I have to stay online for 10 to 12 hours of a day. Will this good for me???

I want to ask How I could enable or disable touchpad in this model. In others there is a hot point on the upper left corner but in this model there aren't. I faced much troubles while I'm printing. waiting your help.
On this review model, there is no option to enable/disable the touchpad.

I do like mine that I just got, but I can't find out what headsets would be compatible with the single combo audio/mic jack. I'm not even sure whether it's 3.5mm or what. If anyone has any suggestions for headsets, I'd be very grateful. And would a wireless/bluetooth headset work... do those things still have to take up a USB slot? MUCH THANKS.
Go for a Bluetooth headphone. My suggestion microlab t1. Great value for money. No need to connect any wire.

I have this Laptop model and it often happens that the touchpad disables itself. In Settings everything is on. Could someone help me fix this problem?
Hie, did you end up fixing this problem? its the touch drivers. Go to settings - mouse settings - additional options - properties - hardware - update hardware - then click the synaptic option amd restart your laptop

It is an optional feature. F9 key if you have it enabled.
would you advise this for an architect using archicad , revit plus rendering softwares
Not really, the ProBook is more of a general business laptop. Archicad requires a OpenGL graphics card with 2GB. Looking at the HP ZBook range instead.

How do you replace the keyboard? Looks built into the chassis.
It is replaceable as replacement keyboards are available.

You can't. No backlight option on the keyboard with the UK models.

Does the chassis material is different in Europe countries, because I’ve seen some reviews in russian which I don’t understand and they seem to say plastic about the bottom part.
I’m interested to buy it (it’s price is 589 euro in my country) but it’s very important to me to be all aluminum (except the 2 parts that you mentioned)

UK models, the bottom cover is made of plastic, aluminium is found in the chassis surrounded by plastic. ProBooks around the world tend to be more plastic than metal due to cost. Only the more expensive EliteBooks and ZBooks have aluminium chassis'.
Thank you very much for your reply. So could you recommend me a laptop with similar specs but all-aluminum with no huge difference in price? Also does the aluminium bottom makes a big difference or not, do you recommend buying this laptop with this price?
Is there a reason why it has to be aluminium? Are you after a lightweight laptop and/or a durable one? It will be difficult to find something in that price range new. Nearest recommendation is the HP Envy x360 13 (2020) IMO

No. A little warm but usable on your lap.

Is this laptop good enough for video editing? For programs like Sony Vegas and Adobe?
Absolutely no problem running video editing tools. Stick to 16GB RAM min.

Edited a 1080p 8 minute video in Premiere Pro with no problems. Encoded took 12 minutes.
Is this available in backlit system in all key?
Yes, some of the European and USA models have backlit keyboards. UK models don't have this option.

I was quite surprised. I connected a 1080p display and went to youtube played 8K 60 FPS video thinking it would struggle. But played like butter. It didn't even use full power of intel intel UHD graphics and didn't even turn on the geforce mx130

We've deployed thousands of ProBook's and they are very durable. Similar story with the ThinkPad's.
I bought HP ProBook 450 G6 and I don't feel like it can be used 8 hours without charging, impression is that I can't watch the entire movie(2 hours) from the start to the end? Is it normal ? I would appreciate a lot if you could help me !
If you start with 100% battery and you cant watch the whole movie,then something is not good with the notebook bro

@@stefanstankovic3046 Try to check battery properties in BIOS at first. Ther may be an issue with the battery (caused by quite a long discharged state during transportation). If the battery is ok, then try to adjust brightness of your display, close unneccessary background services and apps. The other issue that may have caused that - is your wifi/bluetotth connection, amount of opened tabs in your browser or something else.

yes, it does.
The one I've seen advertised is stated as having a full hd, IPS screen(?).

What about display, brightness and colour saturation? Is it a good solution for editing photos ?
No. Only for general office usage.

when browsing throgh chrome,it seems so slow.why?
windows sometimes lags with chrome is what I've noticed. On my workstation pc it lags from time to time. after a restart its usually normal again. On my elite book 1030 it does the exact same thing seldomly.

@@mb7945 AMD and Intel processors run all Windows applications. If you want an Intel i5 version, look at the HP 250 G7 range. The 250 and 255 are budget level laptops.

The Ryzen 7 3700U is a good value CPU. We'll be getting our hands on the 445 next month for review.

Can I use autocad on this laptop?
No. Only if you will be viewing drawings on PDFs. ProBook's are aimed as business laptops. Look at the HP ZBook range. 👍
its a great laptop i have the 16gb i7 version the worst thing about it its prob heating bcs the bottom can get so hot that your legs can have burns not like rlly bad but still

Can you charge it via USB C?
Good question, it does have Power Delivery on the USB-C port however I would not recommend charging the laptop using this method. Stick to the official HP 45W power adapter.

EliteBook range usually have better materials aka aluminum rather than plastic chassis and better security features. Display panels tend to be better too on the EliteBooks.

No, the UHD 620 Graphics is not made for gaming. Go for a model with dedicated graphics instead.

ProBook models in the UK, tend not to have backlit keyboards. (So the Fn key to turn the backlight on/off is disabled) Although in Europe some ProBook models do have backlit keyboards.

Compared to the G5, the G6 is mainly all metal build (aluminium) apart from the plastic display frame.

The ProBook's are tested to MIL STD 810G. We've deployed thousands of ProBook's and they are very durable. All metal design is exclusive to the EliteBook range but you are paying for this.

after 2 years of heavy use the battery is completely dead. it has to be plugged in to run. I mostly use to edit photos and stream content.

Old games like CS:Go no problem. Struggles with newer titles as the UHD 620 GPU is not designed for gaming.

After 1 year of using this laptop, I have to replace the keyboard. Two keycaps have just come loose, although I've always been very careful. To my surprise, I can only replace top cover + keyboard, which costs me 25% of the original price of the whole laptop. Not a good deal for me.
