    Thanks for sharing this. What happens if you need to snake the opposite direction towards the house and not just towards the city sewer side?

      I still can put a snake in the opposite direction if need it.

      this is why they make double cleanout fittings

    Great video. Thank you. What would you say a plumber plumber would charge to install the cleanout by the house?

    Should you install a Y clean-out instead of one way clean-out?

      I don't think that is the correct connection for underground. I Believe they have rubber connections for underground use, but the have a metal plate that covers the entire length instead of the two small collars.

      Dug up a fernco connection that was 20 yrs old. Rubber and clamps were in perfect condition. Clamps need 45# torque, use a nut driver.

    What is the purpose of the clean out?

    • @CreativeProcessDIY
      @CreativeProcessDIY  2 роки тому +1

      A cleanout is an easily accessible section of pipe with a removable cover that makes it easier for you or a plumber to access your pipes. This access lets you run an auger or snake into the pipes to clear clogs and provides easy access for a plumber with a camera to check your pipes for other issues.

      PVC is fine in the state where we live

    • @Waffle131
      @Waffle131 Рік тому

      The biggest difference between ABS and PVC piping is that ABS pipe contains a chemical called bisphenol A, also known as BPA, and PVC doesn’t. BPA is used in various types of plastics and resins because it creates durable pipes. Though there is some disagreement as to the potential health risks of BPA to humans and animals, it is considered safe in certain amounts by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
