I like your tips. I also make my first contact positive. My meet the teacher nights are packed. I love talking to the parents. My parents show up and its nice. Even when I was in middle. I will say that I am a type B teacher but my room is purposeful. I put much thought into my room.

Miss May, how do you deal with the heartbreak of letting go of kids you really connected with? I've been with my class for two years on a loop and there are some kids that I really bonded with. I want to keep in contact with them and their families afterwards but I guess life eventually drifts you away from them 😢

I know it's so hard. I have some families who have my personal phone number and personal email. I also, have theirs too. They will update me with things going on and how life has been. Looping is such a fun system! You definitely, get extremely close after two years together. Love it! ((HUGS))

Is Remind real secure? Some teachers use Class Dojo and others just communicate through Branching Minds I believe.

What do you recommend for high schoolers? I have over 100 kids six class periods

I'm sure it would be hard for 100 kids. However, I believe anything is possible with the help of God. I would create 6 Remind groups for each class or maybe one BIG group for all. I would try and figure out a way once per 9 weeks sending them a positive REMIND message. I love REMIND because all communication is archived and can't be deleted. ((HUGS))
