  • Modifying my One Up EDC tool to work with Stan’s No-Tubes Darts and a CO2 cartridge inflator adaptor from the Park Tool MTC-20 to make an all-in-one hidden flat-tire-fix’n system! Total cost $190 for everything including the 20oz CO2 cylinder. Not having to carry a pump, spare tube, dart tool, bacon strips, fanny pack = $priceless 😁👍

Love the ingenuity, but no way I'm giving up the chain breaker for all those fiddly little bits! Most of the time when you break a chain it's a single pin failure which means you're going to need the breaker to remove the other pin before a quick-link can be used. It's not that hard to carry the Dart tool on your person or stashed on the bike for quick access. Just my thoughts! Everyone has different needs and likes. Again I can appreciate the ingenuity and the desire to tinker!

Just had to use my chain breaker twice the other day. I don't be giving it up. Also I've had horrible luck with Darts in the past, hopefully they work better for you. Going to try the dynaplug route.

Interesting idea. I actually found this when I was looking at Fuji HVLP sprayers and after watching your video, and found this. I use both the EDC threadless carrier which has the bacon strips and plug, but I also have the EDC pump which has a single co2 and the pump end has the inflater. I end up going this way because in my 23 years riding, I cannot remember the number of times I've had to help other people that weren't prepared, or end up suffering more than one flat in a ride, so a pump is a must have (or carry like 4 co2!).

I carried a tiny aluminum chain tool and quick links in my pack for 10 years, then a guy in our group broke his chain shifting. Everyone assumed he was walking 7 miles back to truck, because like you said "who carries a chain tool." 10min fix, started riding again NO REALLY BAD DAY.....

awesome man! I wonder if making the dart ready to rock vs the C02, somehow adapting the cover to work to cover it up. Would make it super quick to plug a puncture and keep all the small pieces to a minimum.

Can buy the refills and use a standard bacon strip fork to poke it in?

I tried but the pokey bit needs to be pointier to get the Stan darts to fit on it. I found the standard fork is just too wide to get the Stan's darts on. But it might work, post if you get it to work. God luck!

I've just learned that this pump has a already has a CO2 adaptor built intot he pump so you could keep the chainbreaker - see 02m25s here - ua-cam.com/video/iIe8-kXyVcg/v-deo.html , cool

Too much time spending modifying this. Believe me next time you're getting a flat, and you'll start pulling those little pieces out on a trail while trying to rush plugging a tire will be be your worst nightmare. Half of the stuff will fall out. Bacon strips work great just need to know how to use them. When you insert it you'll have to give it a twist to create a little knot on the inside of the tire. Then slowly pull out. Stan's Darts are excellent, but the holes have to be quite big otherwise the cloth material separates from the dart. I throw that one usually into my backpack.

I enjoy modifying my gear to make it just right. I guess to you it's work and to me its fun. When I set out for a ride I don't carry anything, just my wallet and some tunes. I love that feeling, no pack, no bags or spare tubes wrapped around the frame, just me and the bike and the woods. I have used this kit 2 times since making the video, once 24 miles into the woods and it worked for me, if your loosing stuff it's your own fault for being sloppy. I could see losing stuff out of a pack in the same way, and at least all this is stored securely in the steer tube nothing to forget at home. I just Stabbed it with the dart and added a little CO2 and back on the trail. It took 10 min, and then everything went back into the steerer tube. As far as the Stan's Darts, I haven't had any issues with them coming out but I am running 29ers with relatively fresh stans no tube, small punctures really just seal themselves its the gnarly side hits that need help. But I guess your milage may very.

@@postbeam8200 I have everything on my bike as well. Wolftooth Encase in the handlebars, inside the steerer tube is a tire lever, pair of nitrile gloves, chain link, valve core and spare bolts. Under the saddle are mounted two CO2 cartridges and an inflator. I actually don't loose things at all, but I know how things go sometimes when you doing trailside repairs. It's not always smooth. Pack is absolutely essential if you are riding off civilization.

Stay away from this. Totally useless. Instead of actually getting into the tire, the "fabric" falls of the small plastic arrow. Tried 6 of them, did not work.
