- For this Baldur's Gate 3 Honour Mode Guide, I really dug deep. There are tips, tricks, and strategies for every part of Act 2. And you'll see that you don't need the most powerful build or extra worms in your brain to breeze through. Even doing a solo run won't seem so daunting after watching this detailed walkthrough. Well, Act 1 had mostly stuff I'd just picked up here and there up until that point, without a lot of personal ideas and testing. For this Act 2 video, it was the other way around, where I tried to come up with new ideas as much as I could (with some tried-and-true tips, too, of course).
My wife and I are going to start a multiplayer honor mode run and we were just saying earlier today how much we hoped that you would continue this series. Seriously, your previous two videos were some of the only "bg3 secrets" videos that contained any actually useful secrets as opposed to just stuff copy/pasted from the bg3 wiki. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into these!

I figure the farther into an honor run, I'm covering, the more important it is that I test everything very thoroughly before asking people to trust that my tricks will work consistently. @@SlimXG We're making our way cautiously through Act 3 now! Also, I don't know if you take suggestions, but one thing we found really helpful for the Cazador and House of Grief fights was to cast globe of invincibility before the fight starts and chuck a rune powder barrel (stolen from the Ironhand gnomes) right in the middle of the map. For both fights, it really softens up/sometimes completely eliminates some of the weaker enemies, and in the case of the Cazador fight it doesn't kill any of Astarion's siblings. Once in tactician my wife was able to make it so that Astarion never even got grabbed by Cazador, but we weren't able to repeat it for honor mode. We managed to get a few turns in before the scene triggered, but it did once Astarion got close to Cazador. Not sure if it's random or if you have to keep him in a certain spot to not trigger the scene.
@@ellydhasacamera Barrels?! How dare you! But fighting Cazador without triggering the conversation is one of the things on my list to test and create a consistent method for. Will probably have a heavy focus on tips for that that fight, in general.

Trying out solo and used the evard tip on the save the portal challenge. Worked beautifully. That combined with the many targets arrow was just chefs kiss. I was able to kill everyone off with time to spare!
Excellent. Very glad to know that strat worked out well, even solo. I tested it a bit solo, and it was mostly just maintaining concentration while wrangling the shadows that could turn out troublesome.

You missed an area underneath the prison in Moonrise Towers. After you clear all the guards you can exit the door where the cell door openers are. There is a large hole in the floor that you use feather fall on. Once down there if you turn left you will find a corpse with a larvae. Then go right and follow the path and you get to the back of the cells where you can break the walls and release the tieflings and Wulbren

Thank you so so much for all the effort behind this and last video!! It all has worked out flawlessly and seriously helped! That was until the Ketheric fight where, for who knows what reason, a bug spawned in a *second* Kethric at full health, and he even walked off his main platform and started attacking and so everything to hell :) After having gotten away with most fights relatively easy (as per the guide), this sure was a way to get me back up on my seat lol
Was a very very close call in the end, which was kinda nice for a change to be honest, but I'd rather not take 3 bosses at once again
Hahah ok, in all my testing on that fight, I have to admit that I never encountered a second Ketheric. The game musta figured that things were going too easily and bumped up the challenge. Now I just gotta figure out how to spawn a second Netherbrain . .

Truly another great video. To the point and with a lot of content i havent seen before.
Though i am curious how you first found out about woundseeker in act 1. Its not the first thing in ones mind when trying to save people from a burning building😅
I first found out that sword existed at all when I was trying to get Voss's silver sword, and tried running away from the gith to get out of combat. I couldn't run far enough away to flee, so I ended up running all the way to Waukeen's Rest and got the Flaming Fist to join in the fight. The gith ended up killing Yeva, and I saw the sword on her corpse.
So my next step was to try to find a way to kill her for the sword without having to fight all the fists, which you can do by saving Florrick and then following Yeva out of Waukeen's Rest until she's split up from the other fists.
But because she doesn't always go in the same direction, it's not always as easy to get her alone, so I wasn't satisfied with that method when it comes to the video. Further research led to Command Drop, and I just kept experimenting to find all the different nuances of that method.
I need you to make an act 3 version of this, SPECIFICALLY because I’ve done almost everything in it but I’m terrified to fight ansur. This series has been amazing and has taught me so many things about the game that I had no idea were possible
I plan to make an Act 3 video, though I think it's probably gonna be more like Act 1, focusing on specific problem fights and out of the way stuff, rather than spending two straight months digging into every part of the act hahah.
He isn't too bad, but he can quickly turn a fight around if you aren't prepared in the slightest.
Cannot stress prep with Ansur is kinda your best bet to beating him unless you plan on 1-2 turning him with massive damage (possible)
Since convo starts the fight and he has a low Initiative, you can stack barrels/smoke powders at his corpse before talking to him. You can use elixirs of lightning resist to half the damage he does, and also stick near the crystals with HP if you don't have enough for your party. Once the crystals actually break, they provide a buff for your defense and help you tank some of his damage.
High enough AC helps, and after a while he has a huge AOE move he charges that hits pretty much the main area he will be around. Make sure when he does that to try and get away as far as possible, and
The biggest thing is you basically have to surround Ansur on all cardinal sides of you plan on taking him on with just these few methods and aren't using too much magic. Reason for this is because Ansur every turn will Fly and land somewhere, and cause enemies to go prone around him, so it's best to space your team out before the fight. To start the fight initially, you HAVE to start a conversation to get Ansur to notice you, so this gives you plenty of prep time. You can even sneak and grab the Baldurian Helmet before this fight and give someone a nice equipment piece beforehand. If all else fails, you can keep at least one or two scrolls of Blink, a Globe of Invulnerability, Gaseous Form Potions/Scrolls, Mirror Images. Anything to keep you evasive helps with him.
Plan:
Position Party before fight
Stay moving during
Consider preset explosives
Use elixirs/potions/scrolls
Keep the highest damage dealer healthy until either Ansurs first big AOE or make sure to have them close initially to burst him as quick as you can.
On higher difficulty he has a reaction on the first person who hits him physically with a lightning breath and it hurts, be sure to bait it out for your melees or be able to tank it.

Absolutely perfect timing, I JUST got up to Act 2 on my Honor Mode run, and was wishing you had a video like your last one for Act 2. With this now I might actually have a chance at surviving, lol.
Edit: I should mention that when I did the first method to kill the Drider, he did still cast Sanctuary on himself a couple times.
And this one's got way more detail (probably too much detail . .) I hope it ends up useful.
This is really helpful, since I died recently during act 2. Question for the future: do you have any tips on how to pickpocket merchants in the moonrise tower? Specifically the ones in the hall?

I could, but they're pretty basic builds. I intentionally keep the power of my characters low in these videos to show off techniques that can be used by a wide variety of classes.

Very true. I considered including Spirit Guardians, but with how long that section already was, and it being a Cleric-only spell (well, other than Lore Bard), I decided to trim it.

This video has helped me so much! Im currently trying to clear moonrise before the big fight and ive followed all your tips so far. I have the main room with the vendors and the room you first see ketheric and zrell left. Can i aggro those rooms separately or is it one bigger fight?
That'd be the extra clearing that I skipped in the video because it's more complex than the parts I showed. You can carefully pull each of those cultists, usually only getting one at a time, but it has to be done in a certain order and from certain positions to not aggro a larger group.
One quick tip I can give if you want to try it is to close as many doors between the rooms as you can, to cut off sight lines. Standing at the top of the stairs that lead down to the prison and pulling Adept Nola through the doorway works, allowing you to escape down the stairs to break combat. But there are also patrolling Scrying Eyes to worry about . . You can see why I didn't include it in the (already too long) video hahah.

Though it has been a while since I did that part, isn’t there an issue with Halsin? If you go into act 2 and return to act 1 early, in the past Halsin left your camp/disappeared. So people doing exactly like you do Drider->Back to Grymforge->Harper patrol might get a bad surprise. Or has this been fixed by now?
He was still in my camp and I was able to do the Thaniel quest just fine, while making the video. The only thing I noticed is that every time you go back to Act 1, Halsin's backpack appears in your bags, but he just gets a new backpack each time.
This video made me sure my items were disappearing from my camp stash. I remember looting the cloak of elemental absorption in Ketheric's room but it disappeared from my inventory before going into the fight against him. I don't have it anywhere now and I know I've literally never sold a cape before to a vendor, and I never drop items either. The same thing just happened again with the Steelwatcher Helmet in Act 3. I right clicked it and selected "Send to Camp" and it just disappeared forever. I didn't want to reload an old save because it was insanely hard to keep all the Gondians alive before we blew up the foundry. There's no way I'm going through that again so I just don't get to have that helmet now. Fckin bugs man.

Just a consideration, if the CTR for this isn’t what you’d like, trying a TN for this that mirrors the layout of your part of the act 1 video could be something to try.
The CTR on the Act 1 video is lower hahah it just gets a lot more impressions. The issue with this video is that most people just skip to the few fights that they want help with and don't watch the rest. AVD of ~15 minutes on a 90 minute video kinda makes it seem like I should have focused more on just the big fights and not gone into so much detail (which is a shame, since I love detail).

Psh, bombs are just miniature barrels! I have one shorter video that's a bit of a follow-up to Act 2 first, then Act 3 as soon as I can. Though it'll definitely take a bit of time to make.

Do you need to win Hide and seek game with Oliver in order to progress shadow-curse questline? What if you just fight "Daddy" and "Mommy" in their house, will it mess up things? Thank you for awesome content!
You don't actually need to play Hide and Seek with Oliver unless you want the ring that he gives. And even if you fight and defeat Mummy and Daddy during the game, they will still show up again, later, during the normal fight with Oliver. Thank you for the awesome watching!

I've never heard of being marked as an enemy of the absolute for act 3. Does it change all that much or only certain encounters?
Most players end up flagged that way without knowing it and are just used to it. It affects what happens when the Steel Watcher scans you at the checkpoint going into Baldur's Gate. If no Scrying Eye has ever seen you commit any violence, the Watcher will say you're clean and let you right in.
@@SlimXG I've also gotten so used to sneaking around the Watchers to get to Gortash's coronation that I completely forgot that can even be an obstacle! Do you avoid it by destroying the Eyes before combat can start? Or is it enough if you destroy an Eye before it can call for help? As an example in my current run, I crit missed on a chromatic sphere which started combat with an Eye but did still kill it before it got a turn to do anything.
@@Avengedtenfold It's actually very picky. Going into combat with one at all will flag you as an enemy. Even if you kill them instantly by tossing them. The only way to avoid it is to one-shot them from out of combat (like with Chromatic Orb, as I showed in the video). Now, if you saved Wulbren from Moonrise, the Ironhand Gnomes will help you if you resist arrest, so it doesn't usually matter.
How is your nier misser doing only force dmg ?
That's just how it works. Its damage type on attacks is Force rather than Piercing.
you can defeat the tree boss' minions by standing at the bottom and just shooting them, then the boss won't enter combat.
Seriously, you need to clip this and your last video and make shorts. That will bring more deserved traffic to your videos.
Hmm, I've considered that, but I've also heard that mixing audiences from shorts and long form often doesn't go well.
@SlimXG you could try to test it put and see how it goes. If it works it is exposure, if it doesn't you just go back to doing what you're doing already 😊
@@SlimXGfor what it’s worth most people who make shorts don’t make good long form content or the long form content isn’t relevant to people who saw the short. People really care about their honor mode runs surviving so if they liked one tip of how to get through act 2, they’ll probably like multiple.

My fight with katheric was going amazing I was doing prep for myrkul but Aylin fucked me over by finishing Katheric in the most inconvinient turn Myrkul proceds to spawn and one shot my paladin everything went downhill after that
Maybe I shoulda included a tip to start by killing Aylin before moving on to Ketheric >.>
