- Join me on a nostalgic journey to the iconic Powell Peralta Skate Shop (factory store) in Santa Barbara, California! Ever since my childhood in the 80s, Powell Peralta has been a name synonymous with skateboarding, and visiting their skate shop has always been a dream of mine. Although the factory isn’t open to the public, the skate shop is, and it's filled with an incredible array of skateboarding memorabilia, gear, and friendly faces.
In this video, we'll explore the shop, share some laughs with the shopkeeper and fellow skateboarding enthusiasts, and even find some cool deals on merch. From signed memorabilia, old school skateboard parts, to the latest decks and apparel, this place is a treasure trove for any skateboarding fan. As a bonus, it’s my birthday, and I’ve got some birthday cash to spend! From a Steve Caballero action figure to unique Powell Peralta Skate Shop apparel, come see what awesome finds I picked up on this special day.
Whether you're a skateboarder or just love the culture, you'll enjoy this tour packed with fun, relaxed vibes, and a hearty dose of skateboarding history. What a rad shop. Was surprised to see other brands in there. The Black Powell Street Shirt was sweet...I had a pink one in the 80s. Thanks for the tour👊🏼
Yeah, it’s cool that they have a legit shop with all sorts of brands. I was a little surprised to see such variety too ❤️
Hey Happy Birthday Matt! No better way i can think of to spend a birthday than a trip with loved ones and a visit to the Powell Peralta shop!
Thanks! It was indeed a great birthday. 🥳
I shed a tear of joy when I visited the PP shop. I could have put an exact copy my first skateboard together there. Skull and sword with Indys and Bones wheels (not Rat Bones, wide ass Bones). It's good that the pioneers of skating are not forgotten, it truly was a golden era.
💯 I hear you. That shop brings back so many cool memories!
Thanks for sharing. Definitely looks like it would be worth the trip.
Thanks! Totally worth it if you’re in the LA area!!!
Coolest skate brand ever. I’ll never forget watching Animal Chin while living in San Diego. I got to skate Del Mar a year before it closed.
Oh wow, so cool that you got to skate Del Mar 🙌🙌🙌
What a cool place to check out, especially if you were into skating back in the day! I had that Tony Hawk board and I remember the Bones Brigade stickers. Very cool experience and thanks for sharing! And Happy Belated Birthday!
Thanks Kevin! Yes,especially if you skated back in the day, but even my wife and teenage daughter thought it was cool and neither of them skate. I didn’t show it, but they had a small fridge of cold drinks and a stash of packaged snacks for visitors. My daughter was feeling a little hangry before we headed inside, so it was perfect 🤣 How thoughtful of them 👍 it’s awesome that you had a Tony Hawk board, it’s such an iconic design ❤️
Interesting visit, thanks for the share!
Right on. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Happy late birthday bro that shirt is rad. I have always wanted to check this place out.
Thanks so much!!! Yeah, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in the area.
i would love to see it soo much. such history
Totally worth it if you’re ever in the area 👍
cool that they sell other brands, even direct competitors. pretty neat!
I totally agree! Such a great skate shop. Hope to go back someday!
AWESOME! Sick SWAG bro!
🙏 Thanks bro! Definitely cool stuff in there, and glad to have been able to pick up a few rad souvenirs 👊
The grey (with neon Rat Bones) T-shirt is so rad ! Good choice 👍🏼
Thanks! Totally agree 💯👊👊👊
Super rad!
💯💯💯 Totally!
I used to live close to the Rector pads factory, was a cool place
Oh wow, I bet that would have been cool to visit. Seems like they had a monopoly on pads in the 80s and then just disappeared. I never learned what happened to them, probably didn’t have enough cash flow to make it through the 90s when vert died back in popularity 🤷
Mike Rector my former sponsor Cheers Mike ❤
Nice👍
Thanks. Yeah, that place is awesome 👊
Sick! If you're ever in AZ hit me up!
Right on! Would love to hit you up and go for a ride some day 👊
Its a little bit disappointing...should have more Ray Rodriguez, Alan Gelfand, Jay Smith and Tim Skruggs and Mike Mcgill and Scott Foss...without these pioneers PP would not exist as we know it. Big Ups George and Stacy ❤ from a pioneer too...Cheers from Lido Isle, Newport Beach, CA. 😊
Cheers 🍻 👍
