Jay is a magnificent drummer, however I personally adore the way Kevin makes the drums literally glue everything together. His best playing is done on the drums in my opinion, still a boss at literally everything he does though.

I often hear other people say the hofner is just a dull thud of a bass guitar, can't say they're.wrong but it works so well for this track and tame impala's music in general.
It says Hagstrom, its is a german brand of guitars, right now their guitars are very similar to the Gretsch ones. The one that they use is when they were with Fender look models. I have one Hagstrom from the 70's

IdoIndeedFlip when I said he drags, I meant that he just plays the songs slower than the recordings. his tempo is still steady and the groove is good, but when he plays them so much slower than the recorded ones the songs sound kind of sluggish
