My parents had a 1970 Mercury Comet (4 door), with the 302 cu in engine. A great family car for 3 kids and 2 adults. It had great acceleration. It ended up becoming my older brothers first car. It was the first car i ever drove (before I could legally drive).

Before this video I never knew anything about a mercy comet gt now I know so much , but I was really impressed by the red 1990 and 1998 Eagle talons my mom had a 91 fwd when I was growing up but sadly it crashed later my dad got a 98 tsi but he sadly sold it real dream to see a eagle talon again in person 😭

your linkage is completely out of adjustment not supposed to slide back and forth like that..its needs adjusting them locking down the nuts to lock it in place
Thanks Bland Bland. I realized that later on reviewing the video. The rust too is causing binding as well. After cleaning it up I am hopeful it will be as good as new again. I appreciate the advisement and support.
Always love the mercy comet gt especially after watching gas monkey garage re-build one like the original one richard rawlings had in high school. But what an amazing video gotta see both those gorgeous red talons, a beautiful orange mercy comet gt and your cute little pupper. Addition to all the juicy information and lessons learning of course simply always happy to slip a little time with you brother!!!
Yes that Gas Monkey Garage one is gorgeous. One of the first true Sport Compacts to be made in the USA too!

I’m 12 years old but I’m so jealous of your cars before this video I never knew about mercy or any of your cars but you’re comet gt is super sick I love old school muscle cars I’m quite curious about those red cars you have and at 1:47 what’s that black car over to the right side of the screen?

I can answer you’re question so basically the first red car is a absolutely gorgeous 1GA 1990 eagle talon tsi♥️♥️♥️♥️super rare if you didn’t know, and I’m sorry I freaking love TALONS. But to the right is a 2G 1995 mitsubishi eclipse spyder I believe and the other red car is another 2G but it’s a spicy 1998 eagle talon tsi 😍

just a -skosch- of slop in that linkage. Lucky you could find any gear, let alone 3. It's begging for a T5, I can hear it screaming all the way from here. It's only money. And time. And money.
Perhaps a top loader 4 speed with 4th being an overdrive is the best/easier option. Not that it would be cheap. 😌
