@@solitudeandsailing … Great job , it’s a lovely boat , I’m on the hunt for one now or maybe build one , I built a 12 ft skiff years ago so tinkering with the idea of building again but so much work , kinda leaning to buy one if I can lol.
Can you share more details on the mast tabernacle and such. I have an Ospray and there is no way I can single hand step the mast with the keel set up I have.
Typical character & integrity of a sailor...you left your rigging work 1/2 done so the powerboaters could launch their overpowered, overpriced boats & create giant wakes for you, the sailor, to bounce around in !?!?
@@FlatlandMando it’s terrible. I make an effort to not give a big wake to sailboats, kayakers, and people at anchor when on my Sportfish. Some boaters do it deliberately
@solitudeandsailing9854 I'm sure it's true in some cases. Like the motorist who purposely blasts through a street- side puddle to splash someone walking on the sidewalk!
The centerboard caught me unaware on my "new" ('69) Oday17 Daysailer. I took her out several times and thought she sailed like crap, turns out the little pivot point was so rounded the raising/lowering handle wasn't doing anything. So I was sailing around without any centerboard. Explained so much. I have it(CB) in my kitchen at the moment with fiberglass resin curing on the repair. Next time the CB fails I think I will have to buy a new one.
I like your commentary, clearly you enjoy sailing!
Thank you. Yes I enjoy sailing. I’d like to find a Daysailer or trailerable sailer meet-up in New England
Now I fully understand how you tie off the forestay! Thanks!
That looks like so much fun - congrats!
We had a blast
Great to see you out... I have a 1971 16' needs to be restored and a tabernacle is part of that update. Thanks for the video Perry
Check out this episode when I got the tabernacle installed… ua-cam.com/video/2oOgv55tNpE/v-deo.html
Great adventure my new friend keep safe.
Nice work man , nice little sailor , Now I’m gunna have to keep an eye out to find one for me , enjoy your sailing mate. She floats lol 👍
LOL, I had to repair some of the fiberglass so I was definitely happy to find her afloat. 😂

Sure. Check out episodes 11 & 12 for details on the mast tabernacle. That really helped me make this a single handed trailerable sailboat..

@@solitudeandsailing thank you so much
Have you checked out an Aussie whose channel is called Sailing Wayfinder who sails one of these boats. He's a good sailor and his clips are great
Thanks, I’ll check out his channel
Also check out: Dinghy sailing Labrador coast. A testament to the daysailer.

Definitely need that center board lowered to counter balance the boat. It makes a huge difference in steering when under sails
