I have thick hair so I’ve always had to use 7-8 packs of hair. But it depends on how much you have because I know someone who can get by with only 3-4 packs of hair.

I think the hair is called wet n wavy or just look for the braiding hair that’s really really curly like spiral curls. For passiontwists, you can just run your fingers through it before you separate it & it will loosen up the curl pattern a bit. Personal opinion, best brand is X-Pressions. That comes with like 3 or 4 bundles so it just depends on how big or small you want your braids to be & the length. It’s already pre-stretched, has a natural looking shine to it and doesn’t make your hair itch. I still do a apple cider vinegar rinse anyway & wash it just bc I like for it to smell good lol
The bigger the twist, the more hair you need. The smaller the twist, the less hair you need. I had jumbo Senegalese twists & only used 2 packs of hair that came with 3 bundles. Actually I used 5 bundles and had some leftover. If you want curly pieces in it, 1 pack of curly hair is enough if you’re using it as accents. I think you can get away with 2 packs. Or you can get it already twisted & crotchet it in yourself.

i’m sorry for the late response😩 I used a mix of freetress water wave and another waterwave brand (i forgot the name of it) and then i used braiding hair to mix with the waterwave so I wouldn’t have to use too much of it. I have a more in depth tutorial on my page showing the hair and how many packs!

How is this supposed to be a “protective” hairstyle when you’re literally ripping your hair off with all those rubber bands? Makes no sense.

you only rip your hair out with the rubber bands if you put them in too tight and if your hair isn’t properly detangled & moisturized. I made sure my scalp was comfortable and nothing was tugging. I’ve never had a problem with breakage.
Everyone has different types of hair so It’s good to know your own hair.
