I always put my silks in Floss Away bags, but I also use the bags for DMC. I never use floss drops as the time it takes to wind the thread and cut them specific lengths takes away from stitching time. Also, with using the bags I can cut my floss the length for a specific project; i.e., whether I want a double length for a loop start or regular length if I’m stitching with 1 strand. The bags also are able to hold smaller thread lengths and keep everything nice and neat. I don’t label the bag so I can reuse them.
Thanks so much for the amazing Kit and WIP parades... I loved them both! I have been following your Flosstube for the past 5 months, and now I need to go back and start at #1. I really enjoy your laid back personality and that we have a lot in common with our choice of patterns. I also look forward to seeing what cool earrings you are wearing on each episode 😊 I'm so sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your co-worker. It sounds like you have a great group of people at your workplace, to help each other through this sad time. It made my heart so happy to hear the wonderful news about your Mom and the positive outcome after her surgery! I was diagnosed at 48 with breast cancer in 2012, and then my daughter at 37, in 2021. Early detection was key for us also, so I'm always stressing the importance of those monthly self exams. I hope you and your lovely family have an amazing 2024 and get back to feeling 100% healthy, soon!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments. And I'm happy to hear your journey with breast cancer went well. Early detection truly is the key. Thank you so much for watching my videos, I love sharing my stitching.
Happy New Year from another upstate NYer. I’m just outside of Saratoga Springs and enjoy your channel. Please do not beat yourself up about your kitted projects, you just have different spur of the moment possibilities. I did smile when you declared that you were going to start a few of them “today”. If recently ffo-d Snow Magical in a Dollar General clock and I love it, I can’t wait to see yours. I am really excited to see your Queen of Freedom. She is a unicorn of mine and I’ll enjoy seeing the way she stitches up.
Oh my goodness, another fellow New Yorker! I know Saratoga well as I've lived in Albany/ Latham/Guilderland for about 14 years. Do you know of any cross stitching shops that are local? I only know of Hobby House Needleworks, which I've never been to.
We all have way to many charts and kitted projects! That’s a lot of the fun of this hobby! Also don’t feel the need to apologize for anything on YOUR flosstube!!! If you want to sandwich bags that’s your business and we all have wrinkled fabric (nobody has time for that) ! We all come here to see you and what you have on your hoop and you do a great job!!!!!
How wonderful that your mom is on the mend and had positive results from the tests. I am with you on the white thread that needs to show. I found that Sulky white (#1001) is a great floss for white stitching. It covers beautifully on 36 and 32 count and I am really happy with it on 28 count as well.
@lookwhatsinmyhoop I've had that problem for the last couple of years! 2024 for me is about using and loving what I already have. And since it's January I'm still full of determination lol. 🪡👠
Great kit parade. You have so many lovely choices. Whatever you choose to do, it won't be wrong for you. I love your comment that Kreinik is devil's thread. So true. I never put silk on floss drops. I keep them in Floss-away bags. Annoying or not, it keeps the silk from getting fuzzy. You've invested a lot of money in your silks, take care of them. I don't mean to be bossy, I guess it just comes naturally to me. Happy stitching. Best, K
That was my exact worry with silks, which is why I bought the floss seat bags. But after seeing so many other people put them on floss drops, I thought maybe it was ok. But, my threads usually end up a mess by the end of the project. Why take the chance?!
Great news on your Mom's health. I like the linen color you've chosen for her Lavendar and Lace stitch, the floss looks wonderful against it. Decision overload! I saw half a dozen patterns I'd want to start immediately. Hoping your rocky start to the new year smooths the way for the rest of the year.
Blue swede. I did leave a comment but not sure it showed. So sorry about your co worker and so thankful for your mother’s good results I totally know that anxiety. Great video, awesome patterns and the fabrics oh yes!
Just found your channel and love it. I grew up in long island and my husband grew up in Westchester county…miss NY so much. Felt like I was sitting with a friend, thanks for sharing your projects
Lovely patterns! I like the blue suede better than the jean. Birds are probably my favorite thing to stitch! I want to try a sampler or Quaker though too because they are pretty.
Praise God for your Mom's wonderful ooutcome! It's amazing how many things you have kitted that I am either working on or completed! Currently stitching "Winter Comes" the pictorial pattern & do not like to stitch on super dark fabric either. Therefore, I am stitching my project 1 over 2 on 32 count Brea by Needle & Flax. Using all called floss except substituted Sulky 1071 for Grits because it didn't show up well enough for my taste.
What a joy to watch your floss tube! Your taste match mine perfectly so my list is long from all the wonderful kits you have ◡̈. That lime green fabric is perfect for that black cat chart! Go for it - such a fun stitch for Halloween!!! Where do you find all your fabrics. I don’t have a brick and mortar shop anywhere near me so the hardest thing for me is to find linens. You have such a wonderful array for your kits! Thanks for taking the time to share with us and yes, here’s to a healthy new year!!
I usually end up ordering my fabrics online from etsy, Hobby House Needleworks, 123stitch.com, and the Kitten Stitcher. I usually see something I like on a flosstube and then take a shot ordering online as I don't have a local needlework shop either.
Don't know if this will help keep track of your threads but I use Xstitch plus app. When I purchase floss I record it in this app and you can make a note if it is in a project. Quick to use. Also has charts and Linen.
You and I share much the same taste in charts and colors. You talk of starting too many things. Someone in another video questioned the difference between having a fully kitted item and WIP. That gave me permission to stitch on whatever I want, even if it’s another start. Who cares if the linen is plain or has stitches?

Very good praise report on your mother. Love all your kitted projects.

Lol, I love big chunky earrings! Almost as much as I love stitching!😂

Aww, thank you so much. I appreciate your sweet comments. I love sharing my stitching.
I stayed to the end!! 🎉 I loved every bit of it. Happy Stitching this year. Hope everyone gets to feeling better.
Thank you! Happy New Year's to you!
Saw a few Brenda Gervais that I have not seen before!! So enjoyed our time together on this floss tube

I've heard so many people comment on sulky and it's coverage. I really need to just get some and try it out.
I'm glad to hear the news about your Mom. I enjoy any sort of parade video; there's always so much inspiration in them! 🪡👠
Usually, when I watch WIP parades, they get me and my wallet in trouble!

@@stitchinginhighheels9529 lolol! You are off to a great start!

Thank you! It's already better but I am so grateful to have stitching to make the rough times better!

I just found you today and just have to say: Holy Cow ❤ the lime green! Go For It!

I live upstate but NY really is so beautiful! Thank you for watching.
What a great video. I would stitch everything you showed. You have a great eye for the fabric choices. Enjoyed every minute. Thanks
Thank you! I just wish I could start and finish all of them right now! Lol.

I really need to get some sulky thread to try, I have a couple of projects I think it would be better to use.

Watching this makes me want to go shopping real bad 😂 so many beautiful patterns and fabric.
Also, such great news for your mom 🩷
That's the trouble with WIP parades! Your wallet gets a workout 😬

That's a very good point.. what is the difference?! I've never thought of it that way.
Why is there a problem with "crinkling" or opening zippers? I don't understand, it is part of a flosstube.
What is in your hoop 😍😀🧵🪡✨🙏✨👋
Lol,, currently Heart and Hand by Brenda Gervais is in my hoop!
