- Life has been very busy lately so it took quite some time to get this video together but we are excited to share our highlights from our longest off shore passage so far... Phuket, Thailand to Uligan, Maldives. 1550 nautical miles and 11 days at sea! What a rush knowing you are literally in the middle of the ocean with no one (except Paul) around!!

Just started watching your channel and subscribed. Some of best sailing video production on here! Great intro on this one
Thank you so much for subscribing and your positive feedback 😍
Oh my word!!!! I cannot stop laughing. I loved it!!!! How much fun
Was it Paul’s pineapple dance? 🤣
Okay, so I have been watching your videos since the beginning and I am so stoked that you guys are in the Maldives! I was staying on Lohifushi on a surf trip and well, I wish I never had to leave. Super stoked for the two of you, Skylark is amazing! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us next.
Thanks John! We are nearby there now. We are currently in Male, but passed by there the other day on our way here!
Just found the channel, binge watched them all.......keep the adventure rolling, and looking forward to more.....
Thank you Kevin! There will be more!
Absolutely fantastic videos the best I’ve ever seen for a new sailing channel. Your Amel 54 SV Skylark is a drop dead gorgeous vessel! I can’t wait to follow your adventures all the best!!
Thank you for your nice message Tim!! All the best!
Amazing guys. So fun to see it and to see you two. I hope that you are having a blast sailing but I also hope that you'll be back in the cockpit soon enough.
Sailing vicariously on your adventures! Great job!
Awesome! I was needing a new sailing channel and there you are, right on cue. Shortest binge watch ever! Your vision is great and your sound quality is gradually improving. Keep working on these levels.
Looking forward to your travels thru the IO, especially the Maldives and Seychelles.
Hi Paul! Thank you for you binge watching us! There will be more, and we will continue to work on the sound quality!
You two remind me how much fun pilots are. I studied photography at the South East School Of Photography that is right down the street from Embry Riddle. I made so many pilot friends and I miss them all. Great people and all sorta crazy. In the the best possible way of course. Love your channel.
Excellent video! Thank you both for sharing your experiences. 👍
Thank you!!!
Lovely an aviation couple
Loved the editing skills too
I can’t imagine that magic moment when the dolphins joined you ! ❤️🇬🇧
It was amazing! ❤️ one of the highlights of the passage
@@OutsideWatch-Skylark They are all highlights to me! I am so happy that UA-cam brought me to your channel today, what a beautiful couple!
an amazing trip... awesome
omg chris definitely have that "PILOT VOICE" 😂😂😂
new subscriber btw 😊
I am just signing on. I like your Amel. They are one boat that is well designed for offshore cruising.
Thank you for subscribing! The Amel 54 is an awesome boat and we are always happy when out at sea to know we are in a safe vessel!
Hey really cool video! I'm curious as somebody who is looking to do the same one day, how rough do the seas get? Do you often find yourself in water that could potentially tip the boat? I'm just curious how you handle that.
Fabulous video! entertaining and wonderful footage, you guys take care!
Sombreros are quite nice. Great video. Keep going!!!!
I'm Happy To Make Your Acquaintance!

Thank you!!
You might work on your sound, music way to loud talking to soft , good content! Happy Anniversary
Just discovered you guys. I like what I see. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks Jim! More videos are coming!
Great start you two! I just bendged and sub'd tonight, Check! Super fan of Amel, esp. your 2009! Be sure and strip the labels off your can goods to prevent insect eggs from infesting your boat/food. Instead label the cans w/a marker. Looking forward to your future content! I'm not a pilot but a related aeronautical engineer, data scientist and fellow sailor. You guys rock!
Wow. It won't take long for this channel to grow exponentially in viewers and subscribers. I for one, am hooked. Absolutely amazing photography and commentary. Proud to say I know you both. Stay safe on them open waters. Continue to keep us entertained!
I was curious if either of you had any sailing experience before you bought Amel 54? I am enjoying your channel
Thank you! We both have sailed for several years now, and have done a couple courses and about 10 charters together now.
The pineapple dance made my day!
It made our day too when Paul first sent us that! We knew it had to go in the video🤣 Paul is so much fun haha!
Love your boat ⛵️
Hey guys, love your channel, and your Amel 54, Whats faster the Amel or the Oyster?
Thanks! Depends who’s sailing it 🤣
We believe the Oyster is overall a faster boat
@@OutsideWatch-Skylark My favorites are Oyster , Shannon, Moody, and Amel, but when I buy one it will be an Amel 54. Would you guys ever consider something else?
I'm surprised I didn't come across your vlogs easier. As a long time Delos follower seeing an Amel 54 always gets my attention. Anyway I'm glad I found you and have already subbed, and started catching up. BTW, watching the first video made me curious, last I heard, (if I even remember correctly), in the US. GA. pilots have to maintain at least 6 hours every 90 days to stay current, and 6 every month to take passengers. I would imagine for the commercial aviation industry the same type of consideration would present some real headaches. What do you anticipate you guys will be up against, as that challenge goes, in getting back to normal? Also please stay safe. Now I'm gonna go watch some more.
Generally it’s only 3 takes off and landings every 90 days to stay current rather than a set number of hours. I think when things bounce back all the pilots sitting at home(or out sailing) will need to go through some sort of simulator re-qualification training and Checkride. There are only so many simulators in the world and there are A LOT of grounded pilots.. so I think the back log in sim time is going to be a problem.
What a time to quote Capt. Ron. LOL
He’s a wise skipper!🤣
Yeah great job! It's not a Utube video, it's a documentary a movie! Enjoy the Amel 54 one of the best SV!
Thank you Alex!!
Well done guys😎
Great quality 👍🏼🇦🇺
Thank you!
Dumbstruck by the beauty of your boat.
Nice ♥️👍
Hi guys, Just found your channel. It's great and i can't wait for your future vlogs. Chris(Melb Aus).ps Stay safe and be careful.Covid 19 is still around
Thanks! More are coming soon!
Amazing video guys keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Jen, Maldives 2008 👀
Such a fun time!! Can’t believe we were there nearly 13 years ago flying!
Enjoying your videos, thx, Adam, Tofino.CA
Thank you Adam!
Hola consulta a veo un velero con la obra en naranja puede ser el que aparecio en italia sin ocupantes x sufrir un mal TIEMPO
That was just a great video. Keep up the great work and we really look forward to the next vlog😎🌬⛵⚓😎🦘🐾
Congratulations nice videos 👍
walk us to how to become boat captain how to read sea map! does are small course that you can do.
Nice video -seeing Uligan brings back many fond memories. Would have been great to give some stats at the end summarising the passage, but you did a great job capturing the boredom/peace/annoyingness of ocean passages.
The least said about Paul's Ja Makin' Time speech the better, though :-)
The pineapple dance was my favorite part😂😂😂
GREAT video.
Wath ship have Paul ?
Paul has an Oyster 53
One suggestion, Your show title, the first thing displayed should be the episode number. That way if UA-cam shortens your title next to your shows picture. People will always know what the episode # it is and they can follow from one to the next. That will be important later when you have a lot of episodes and people join later and want to go back and follow you from the start in order.
Great idea!
Questions: what are the regulatory requirements crossing from Thailand up to Maldives? And can one stay in Maldive indefinitely in the yacht?
Hi Andy, there are various regulations. We believe it’s possible to stay up to 6 months for the boat in the Maldives, and the crew can stay up to 3 months. Things are always changing so it’s good to stay up to date on noonsite or with an agent.
Check Noonsite web, like googling "noonsite Maldives"
AIS Data Located - so good brah
Are we going to find you here in Kenya some day soon?
Perhaps!!
Hi guys... good to see you.... its me from the 5.8 Restaurant.... how can I reach you? ... :-)
Hey!! Thanks for the message! What an amazing evening at the underwater restaurant!! You can reach us on Instagram @chrislikins or by email at contact@outsidewatch.com
Tedious at best
Thank you for your comment. Ocean passages do have their tedious moments but also lots of beauty and excitement 🤣
Tyrells are the best crisps/chips ever
We learned during our sea salt and vinegar chip tasting at sea, Not if they are compared to the kettle brand directly. 🤣 on their own they are irrisitable. When there is a Tyrells in a minibar I can never resist!
Love your beautiful footage! Yuka and I started a UA-cam channel too! :)
Hello couple, you have 4 videos only? I liked so much!
Hey Jose! Thank you so much! We have 5 videos now, and a 6th will be out shortly! The next video will be Maldives cruising 😍
@@OutsideWatch-Skylark your videos have a beatyfull seascape.
1080p a no-go!
Faster internet maybe? 😉
The maracas make it
Welcome to K4. Look me up if you want to talk sailing.
That is not tuna,,, you ganot that fish
Any kind of vinegar combination on crisps is just plain disgusting. I see by the look on your face you feel the same way. LOL
Can do without the loud music.Otherwise looking good.
Hi Alex! Sorry you did not enjoy the music volume, but we are glad you liked the rest!
Grow your hair long Jen
Thanks Andre, that’s the plan! Couldn’t agree more. The short hair was a salon tragedy where a treatment fried nearly all of it, so my hair is limping through life for the next bit until it all grows out! Haha. It’s been nearly a year and it will take probably another year to get through this! Haha!
need to improve some sound
Hi Edward, thank you, we will continue to work on that!
🥱 Click
Hi James, thank you for clicking on us!:)
Jens pegnant lmao
Thankfully our news to Paul was really only being at the half way point 🤣🤞🏻👍
Always the stupid music that ruins an otherwise good video.
