There was admittedly a drop in quality when Dryden was replaced by Covington at the start of 1970, but they could still bring the goods on stage when they wanted to--and Slick was more outrageous and daring than ever.
@@spiritof6663 ".. Slick was more outrageous and daring than ever.", of course that was the Disco and Punk era. I have to admit i bought the "Red Octopus" album because i liked Marty Balin's "Miracles" but i lost interest after that and that was it for the Starship.
@@catholiccowboy8545 I like the first three Jefferson Starship albums "Dragonfly", "Red Octopus" and "Spitfire", but after that they mostly lose me. I basically consider the period from 1966-76 to be the Jefferson family's "golden" period, with the *really* hot phase being from 1967-70.
@@spiritof6663 I was not a big fan of them although their first album "Jefferson Airplane Takes Off" is definitively my all time J.A. favorite. I like it all, the sound, the songs, their singing, the way they play their musical instrument, the artistic picture. Personally i think it was the first great album i bought in those years (excep the Beatles). I have a secret, i can't stand G. Slick voice. On the first LP the balance between the female singer and the others ( Marty Balin and Paul Kantner) was better and more interesting. Personally, so don't tell please !
Great hard hitting band
Yes indeed! One of America's all-time best rock groups. The studio albums are classics and their live show was exponentially even more amazing.
Cret-in.

In 1970 Jeff Airplane was finished and over .... Next !
