    You are SO RIGHT about stretching hair. If more people stretched and kept it that way throughout the week with one product, they would notice a complete change in texture/feel. It is work every night, but you gave a great easy to do tutorial. My daughter has exactly your hair type and we love curlformers to stretch her hair. Great video.

    Love the video! I subscribed. I'm a type 4 natural that keeps my hair stretched also. No sense in letting it get tangled and the trying to figure out how to get it detangled. I never do a wash and go. Tried it once but hair was tangled. Now on wash day I set my hair on jumbo magnetic rollers to stretch it. I wear sleek styles to work like buns and ponytails. I rarely wear it down. I'm looking forward to more videos from you on hairstyles that I can wear when I want to wear it down and stretched. Keep the videos coming. You are an inspiration!

    this is why is sub to you. I love seeing 4c natural hair vloggers that have similar hair to mine. my question is, how do you maintain it at night ? i love doing twist outs, braidouts or curls on my hair but i never know how to sleep with. I tried doing the pineapple method and my hair stayed in the pineapple , it didnt want to come down, sigh
    Also, do you have fine hair ?

    • @NappQueen
      @NappQueen  7 років тому +40

      Christel Folaj 😩😂😂😂 lol at the pineapple not coming down, I realized early on the don't work well for me, chunky braids are my go to for overnight though

    • @Kiyonce.Kartier
      @Kiyonce.Kartier 7 років тому +28

      Christel Folaj I don't have 4c hair, but my hair was stuck in the pineapple too. Instead, i do a low "pineapple" aka put my hair in a hair band without twirling it. It's great & my hair isn't stuck in night preservation mode

    This! I did a flexi rod set for the first time last weekend, now if I had seen this trick, it would have been so much quicker. I plan to do roller set in the near future (haven't done so since post relaxer) and I will definitely be using this method, braids/plaits as we say in UK are my best friends in keeping my hair stretched too, but never thought of this combo and the results are beautiful, will be so much quicker and fuller. Also, I see you use one form of liquid on your hair and then seal it, I layer up my hair and of course it takes longer to dry but I thought it needed it, I'm gonna try this too.
    Love it, really useful info, thanks for sharing.

    ok, you deserve an award, you Napp Queen have it down pat. You figured out your 4C crown. Freakin awesome, your hair is absolutely beautiful and I love how you keep your maintenance of it simple and cheap. I don't have 4C hair, I'm not even a loose natural, I have locs, but I love watching youtubers with 4C hair. I think 4C hair and locs have something in common (just a personal opinion) I just love the texture and the versatility, the texture has a rawness to it, like something in nature. Just like when people compare the texture of locs to tree bark or something like that. In my humble opinion to really see the beauty of 4C hair, the best thing to do is keep your routine simple with low manipulation. Moisturize, protective style and just leave it alone. Your 4C hair will grow and flourish, just like locs. No need for expensive products. Respect due sis, you deserve mad respect for this. This video to me shows just how versatile 4C hair really is. It also shuts down a lot of the negatives about 4C hair. To be truthful, I was side eyeing you while watching the video. I was like, oh please, that's not 4C, even though I've seen some of your previous videos, lol....when you showed the comparison pic close to the end....I was like ookkkk Queen, I see you.... I'm a Yaadi btw, Clarendon mi come from.

    How often do you wash your hair? What is your nigh time routine? How often do you restyle? How do you combat humidity? What do you do when it rains? How often do you trim? Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions.

    • @NappQueen
      @NappQueen  7 років тому +60

      Sherifa Star lol no need to apologize I understand your curiosity but I truly am a lazy natural. I wear my hair loose 90% of the time, mainly stretched. I wash my hair when I feel like it needs to be washed and can vary between 1/2, 1, 2, and 3 weeks (if I'm protective styling) I don't believe in trimming and if I want to preserve a style overnight my go to is to do 6-8 loose chunky braids, if not, my hair is long enough now to where I can go to sleep and shape the next day and look fine. I plan to make a video in the near future about trimming 👌🏾 and I embrace humidity, all it is is moisturizer lol, yes it makes my hair shrink but I find that my hair is much happier and healthier in the summer here or when I'm in Jamaica and I'm sure it's do to the humidity, I just accept the frizz and keep it moving lol

    Omg so beautiful. I can't wait to try this. I wonder how it will look if I do twist instead of braids with this technique?

    Gorgeous hair and you're beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I tried the roller set once on my 4b hair and it was a disaster. Your technique seems much easier and I can't wait to try it. New sub!

    Well you just inspired me. I want to wear my hair out sometimes (I wear an Afro wig), but I am hesitant to flat iron it. This is a much healthier method. I will definitely try it. Subscriber 1860! Adding you to my 4C Pinterest Page.

      The One Where I Say Yay! Embrace that hair lol! There's nothing wrong with wigs, I actually make them sometimes for friends and family, but it's just something about wearing your own hair which to me contributes to your personal essence in a way no other accessory can. Just my opinion though 😊

    i tried this and thank you for the inspiration. I tried it on stretched 3c4a hair but it only lasted a day which is a no go for me and I used a little cream mixed with gel. it came out so cute too but imma have to do it on wet hair. I wish products on dry hair had the same holding power as wet. Thanks aga8n imma make it work

    I am crying! It worked beautifully on my tight 4C low porosity hair! After using Brazilian keratin shampoo and conditioner which helps to really stretch my hair, had to use pink oil with olive oil Eco styler and a blow dryer to get my curls to pop like hers!
