From the majority comments i read on this platform which obviously are against Mr. Frank Tietie makes me to start asking question if most Nigerians on this platform are still thinking rationally or the pain and poverty has caused us to loose the sense of reasoning. If you objectively analyse Frank's arguments you will discover he is really objective and balance in his assessment of both the labour and government actions but i think the hunger in the belly of commentators has made them to be angry in their comments or rather those who are just making comments purely based on hatred and sentiments against the Government. I think we need to start thinking creatively if actually we want a better Nigeria. I read the submission of one of the commentators where he provided a creative suggestions on how to resolve the minimum wage logjam and i was very impressed. This is the type of conversation we need and not just spew abuse and curses on the opinion we think does not align with us.

When someone who has been fighting for the betterment of the Nigeria citizens made an abrupt U turn and begin to support the federal government without any factual reasons means he has soiled his hands and begin to sound like a foreigner.

Proposing 3 tenures for the prime minister of Nigeria (under Regional System of Government) is no problem so long as all regions regains it's independence and exclusive ownership and control of their resources.

Most times emotion blinds us from the truth.Wage increase will only cause inflation and retrenchment. NLC should agree to less than 60,000 naira on the following conditions
50 percent reduction of presidency and NASS expenditure
Workers earning less than 6000 naira a month should pay no taxes
Students with family income of less than 120000 a month should not pay a dime for tertiary education
Federal government should stop monthly allocation to states once they fail to pay their workers
All government agencies should buy made in Nigeria vehicles
No international trips for all government functionaries for the next one year
The Lagos- Calabar road should continue only after at least 2 dysfunctional roads in each of the 6 regions has been rehabilitated
CNG buses should be made available to all the 36 states within a month
Provide security to farmers especially those producing staple food products
Free medical and dental mobile clinics in at least 2 cities per state

My brother I think I agree with you in 100%. We should always be creative and seeking alternative ways in our efforts to solve problems. Labour has always be acting in one and traditional way without thinking out of box. I think your suggestions are very viable alternatives which may even be more beneficial than if given N250,000 minimum wage which would eventually be eaten up by inflation in few months and then back to square 0.

The present mini wage is already killing people, and it is a death trap. You have to stastically find out how many families have been thrown under because of that wage..Frank is flawed on his analysis, Tinibu govt floated the naira, did a quasi subsidy which has brought more cash flows to the FAC, according to Tinibu himself. How much is this ratio to the wage. George Akume who said he cannot pay 100k to his four drivers each as minimum, someone should help me ask why do you need four drivers..

Wow.. when did frank get to this point of being confused. What Nigeria can do to people. 😢. I get his argument but I’d say the country is tilting towards anarchy as a govt that doesn’t obey its laws cannot enforce same on those being governed. If there are laws to gate a people from protesting and the government is doing everything in its power to suppress the same people, the law will no longer matter if the people decide against their own survival. Yes the people are now in survival mode, govt needs to tread carefully. Frank asking not to shut down critical infrastructure is right, but unfortunately there comes a time when even that critical infrastructure cannot be serviced due to bad governance so what next. We have reached the crossroads and unfortunately labour only got here because they were complicit as well. The chick has come home to roost. Years of bad governance has side effects and this is what it is.

Also note that the right to go on strike is a right protected by international laws and treaties of the ILO to which Nigeria is a signatory. Making another counterintuitive local laws does not invalidate the rights of workers. To work for peanuts is not by force.

Such a case I must say here.. The guest concluded by saying of course the government has failed woefully which I think is spot on for not realising that there should be an increase in wages with regards to removal of subsidy albeit debatable for now. He went on to say that labour went too far this time over the interruption on the national grid which is also right. Essential services should have been let to stand as labour continue on their discussions with the government. Moving forward, if labour decides to go on strike again, the national grid should not be tampered with because of our hospitals and other essentials. Government on their own should be proactive whenever they bring up policies like removal of subsidy and hike on energy bills. So Nigerians, the guest was only trying to be objective because honestly we Nigerians have not managed this country well...

You people on this platform that are this disagreeing with the guest are ignorance of the laws regarding strike. Can any of you name a country where the labour union go on strike and then turn off the national grid. Nigeria is not the only country labour union go strike. I know some of us might not like the current govt, but labour union went too far with their action

They gave enough warning to the FG before they went on strike.. So Government is to blame for the actions of the NLC.. Thiefnubu does not care about Nigerians.😊😊

Where in the world where national assemblies members and judges hundreds of millions annually and workers can get 100k monthly

@@fesderi3933 please I total agree with you but that does not give them the to switch off the national grid. To be honest with most people are on labour side. But they can’t be shutting down the national grid, do you know how many people would have died in the hospital, if there is any. In most countries the essential services are disrupted but not completely shut down. Please have never like those guys in the house of senate and house of rep as far am concerned they are their for themselves. Those governors that said they cannot pay the minimum wages are thieves, let them give us the breakdown of the allocation money.

@@MOA007 Totally agree with you, but let us remember this mess was inherited from the past government and left the country at the point of bankruptcy and this government trying to clear the mess.however this government aren’t helping the matter especially our law makers buy expensive cars spending money as if there’s no tomorrow.
