No region/zone was outrightly opposed to him or the idea of him. Ultimately, if an SE candidate can cross the divide to get votes in NW and SW on top of SE then he has a good chance of winning. But you cannot win elections with SE votes and one or two states in the NC. That NW is key to winning an election. But NW and NE on their own cannot also win an election. That is the beauty of it, you must build a solid coalition across the Niger, whoever you are.

Adaku, get it straight! Peter Obi will NEVER EVER be president of Nigeria. When PBAT finishes in 2031, the power goes back to the north, you know why? Easterners need to earn the trust of Nigerians before they can be allowed in the presidential seat. Modern Lagos that Tinubu built was the economic capital of Nigeria since 1900s and all the infrastructure foundation already laid. First rail line was built in 1914-1918, the new one Sanwo Olu is building now was initiated in 1983 before it was stopped. Airport, Sea Port, National Stadium, all the Highways from Berger to CMS, APapa to Oworomsoki was built by the military. Lekki Peninsula is the area rich people across the length and breath of Nigeria decided to build their house. Victoria Highland has been since the time of transatlantic trade and all it's area developed before 1999. Atlantic City is a private project designed and sponsored by Private companies, Dangote refinery is build by Dangote group and Nigeria government support with Nigeria money.
