@@TheBrownIslandOh, come the hell on. White people have had a monopoly on country music for far too damn long, which is ridiculous because they're not the only people who contributed to creating it. And not all of these famous country singers were from the South themselves, either. A number of pop singers have been on and off the country charts with hit singles. This tired-ass, bullshit, outdated as hell racist notion that country music is only for white people has got to go.

It is even more important that culture and how it has changed over time, is passed down to subsequent generations. Today many young generations talk as if the decline of Black communities, and so us as a people, began with the crack epidemic. We have become more fractured over time. KRS-0ne said a few years ago at least, that Hip-Hop should be considered an ethnicity within itself. Hip-Hop thinks of itself as a culture, so why have we not seen widespread and long ongoing discussions and debates over this comment, like the non-sensible issues (from my perspective) of who we are as a people and what we should be called, and our use of the n-word? How could a comment like this, not be dealt with during their celebration of the 50TH anniversary last year? How will future generations know about how things like this transpired, and impacted the world they live in?

Michelle moved to Country Music FIRST* and Collaborated with Justin Champagne on "Country Love Song". *She NEVER Received this Backlash because she was Authentic* when she made the *announcement back in 2020 which prompted Beyonce to put out an Album* now. K. Michelle worked on it, talked about her Inspiration, was Relatable, Released the Music and _Did Not call herself a Cowboy._ *K Michelle was Real about it. My mom’s cousin was a Black cowboy in Texas back in the 1940’s and 1950’s. From what I understand he was a big deal in the rodeos. He passed away before I was born, so I never met him. Mom spoke of him often, and shared pictures of him.
Also my dad, a Tennessee native, only listened to Jazz, and country music. I grew up in a diverse musical family listening to country music is nothing new to us. My son- in law who is a Mississippi native blasts country music in his truck, he is country to the bone :). Our people have forgotten our past, the history of our people has been halted, hidden, and suppressed not only by white people, but by us. When people like Beyoncé, and K Michelle, etc come out with hidden areas of music the country is in shock, some MAD! WE have to do better with passing OUR HISTORY ON TO OUR PEOPLE before things like this occurs! NO ONE SHOULD BE UP IN ARMS ABOUT BLACKS SINGING COUNTRY MUSIC.

My grandmother had to get out of Texas for a KO slapping the wrong white woman when she was young 🤷🏽‍♀️👍🏽 . Them folks was looking to lynch her. She got away hiding in the fields for 3 days & someone helped to get her out the state. She definitely passed on those rural values & history from Texas. The rodeo was one of her favorite family event. The whole family was there.

She's constantly pushing the boundaries constantly educating in her images lyrics and sound. I just love the way she's showcasing Black rodeo history black 🖤 Cow girls/boys it's very deliberate with intent. I cannot but respect her for that. She's reach the stage in her career where she's unapologetic and she will say whatever she wants that's what I love about her she's pours her true feeling into her music. I hear the third part of her trilogy is going to be rock n roll. If this is true Boy watch how White folks will be spitting hairs. We all know who invented rock n roll. It was not Elvis nor Jim Haley!!

For those out there who criticize Beyonce for adding country to her genre, nothing is more insulting to our creativity than to not put our faces on album covers and have white artist perform the songs that black artist created and display them and the songs that were our creation. This is not the same, because many of us reside in the South and are influenced by what we heard in those spaces for all to appreciate.

I believe the flag issue is more complex than solely Black Americans having a claim to the US. It's crucial to recognize that this country's history extends beyond domestic affairs. The United States has inflicted harm on many people internationally, and the flag symbolizes that for some. It's not an indictment against Black Americans, but rather a recognition of broader historical and global implications. However, the criticism about her involvement is country music is racist.

The ladies and Roland are absolutely correct. The white men were known as Cattlemen but the brothers brought the swag and made Cowboys cool so the tag Cowboy was taken over via the media/Hollywood and most of the country think Cowboys were only white. I lived in Houston for 4 years and like these ladies and Roland state, the black rodeos are real and has always been so because 25% or more of the Cowboys were black.

From the part of the south I am from, we rarely saw black people with cowboy hats and cowboy boots. We didn't have any horses either, but we did have a couple of mules. I think that is the reason Beyonce was getting a lot of negative feedback from black people because they are not used to the black cowboy culture. It's good that we are now getting exposed to it.
