The architecture there is stunning, a real step back in time, real nice that it is still the same today. How on earth did a man like Confucius exist over 2K years ago and what a shame you could not film in the museum, cheers Alan

Aren't these buildings amazing! They are always awesome to see in person. The museum was small, but it would have been nice to give people a taste of the really beautiful pottery they could see in person.

The Confucius shrine is so beautiful. I had no idea there was a heavy Chinese presence in Nagasaki either. The detail in the shrine is incredible and so impressive. Amazing it was built in the 1800s. Fascinating this is where the golden rule comes from. I agree, definitely a motto to get behind. So cool there are dance performances there too. Fantastic and informative video as always! :)

Always appreciate your wonderful comments! It seems as though this area in particular was a hub for other cultures. I didn't realize that they had their own "Chinatown" even back in the day. Lots of really beautiful things to see at this temple, and I was happy to see it being used in so many ways with the live music and the dancing!

The imperial palace in Ryukyu aka Okinawa was very beautiful and got its influence from Chinese ancient architecture. Sadly the fire 🔥 destroyed the building during the covid lockdown time. Ryukyu was a tributary state of China all the way until japan invaded the Ryukyu kingdom in late 19th century, and then Ryukyu was destroyed even more in the war between usa and japan in 1945. The usa heavily military presence makes the place so much worse and so polluted.

That was a really cool Chinese shrine. The architecture was really neat. I liked seeing the kids dancing also!

Seeing the kids dance was a really cool surprise. Nice seeing that this is a place that is actually used.

Didn’t expect to hear about Chinese Culture while you are in Japan. Confucius was such a fascinating individual and had great teachings. The building dedicated to him was so cool and nothing like that by our area also.

Did you know about him prior to the video? I was also surprised to learn about the Chinese here - but it seems when it came to meeting people from other places (back in the day) Nagasaki was where it's at!

So nice to see the shrine finally :) the architecture is absolutely stunning, what a place. So sad the shrine closed for so long after the bomb but im glad its back and up and running and people can see its beauty now. Interesting to hear about Confucius teaching. Definitely a good motto do unto others as you would have done unto you x
