A well prepared and excellent campus tour indeed! 👍This film keeps me updated of my beloved alma mater's latest developments. ❤I obtained my MBA's degree from ISU at 1981 year-end. Very proud of being an early international alumnus of the program. Lawrence Luh from Taiwan 🇹🇼
I'm ISU Class of 1969, where I earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. Enrollment was about 15,000 then, and classes fit into a 12-week quarter system - a school year being Fall, Winter and Spring quarters with a limited Summer quarter schedule also available. I had a great time at ISU, receiving a rigorous and outstanding education at a rock bottom cost. Despite the skewed male/female demographics in the 60s, we also managed to have great fun and social frivolity, both on campus and downtown - as you might expect. Of course, I hold no fond memories of crossing Little Siberia at 10 below zero F in January. When I enrolled Fall quarter 1964, not including living expenses (as I lived off campus), my in-state quarterly costs were $99 registration fee, $10 student activity pass, and maybe $50 for used textbooks, class fees, etc. In-state tuition was zero, so that's less than $500 college costs for my first full 3-quarter school year at a great university! I paid my way through college by working as an engineering co-op student at John Deere Des Moines Works for a total of three quarters. This extended my degree plan to five years, but I was graduated with money in my pocket and about eight great job offers to choose from. No student debt in those days. In fact, lots has changed since then. Anyway, I found this video by accident and enjoyed it. I haven't been back to Ames in decades. Now I'm curious to see the old stomping grounds.
And today students be leaving unis with 10s of 1000s of dollars in debt and hardly any good job offers. Can't believe you had 8 of them just to yourself....
@@singhsaravjeet6180 Yeah, east coast, west coast, midwest - all successful corporations with great futures. All good money, fantastic benefits. Sometimes I did the interviews just to explore new parts of the country. I took a job in Kansas City that guaranteed a draft deferment. Four years later I moved on when I realized the entire remainder of my life had been planned out for me. That's when my life began to become satisfying.
