806 Cub attacked by 821 at Brooks Falls - Katmai National Park

- This is raw 4k/120 footage of Bear 821 attacking a coy of 806, who rushes into action to defend her cub. This was taken July 22, 2023 from the main viewing platform at Brooks Falls. More videos and photos from my trips to Katmai can be seen at my instagram page @mikereevesphotography
Wow, this is much clearer than when i saw on the live cams. I didn't realize how close 806J came to disaster.
It was pretty wild to see it through the camera considering these types of events usually happen away from the webcams.

821 was one of the last male bears that I thought would turn into a potential cub killer. He was always quite soft and lower ranked when playing with other young male bears. Will he turn into the next Lurch?

It’s 7/27/24 and 821 Pepper still hasn’t shown up. Hoping he will be at the Falls and is ok. 806 & 806jr. are doing great❤❤
