TL;DL: Surgery isn't the only answer. Surgeries are not minor and are voluntary. Pain can be the problem more than the labral tear is. See his other videos for actual to-do advice regarding CORRECTIVE EXERCISES. Have a humble attitude because managing pain isn't just physical. He has a book to sell us that looks worthwhile, "Master the Pain-Brain."

I am a 72 year old woman who has suffered with hip pain for many years , and was recently diagnosed with a Labrum hip tear . Surgery was recommended by my Orthopedic Surgeon. The surgery went well and I am , for the first time in years , pain free in that hip ! Part of the recovery is to spend the first 6 weeks as " no weight bearing " , and I am using a wheelchair. When that 6 weeks is up , I'll start several weeks of Physical Therapy . After that , I am hoping to remain pain-free.

I went through mri and was diagnosed with labral tear due to my running. From your video, it seems More of pain management. If we overcome the pain aspect, will our cartilage wear and tear faster or more easily over time since the alignment of the joints are off? Increasing risk of total hip replacement surgery?

Hi Max, Im man 41 years old and I love running. But I feel pain in the front groin when standing and lifting my thigh and lowering it again repeatedly, the pain when the position is lifted and there is a slight click. And the pain with the movement as above will be worse after I run above 10 km. But after a few days of rest by not running, the pain decreases.
The question is whether with therapy the pain can disappear forever and how to get rid of the slight clicking sound in the quadriceps joint? Can I run again normally with just therapy. Which therapy do you think is most suitable? Please answer, thank you very much❤ 2:53 2:53

I have the exact same pain pattern you described in an Upright Health video you were featured in. Your 7 day exercise program has helped me a lot. I'm waiting for the results of an X-ray right now. I'm going to check out your e-book and see a physical therapist.

Hey Maks, thank you. Been living with chronic for many years and movement is what always helped me. Question, i want to get back to running. Is that something i can do with the labral tear? Disc golf too with twisting on left hip. If i do good exercise work and the mental stuff too. Will i cause further damage is my question and concern. Plz?

I massively regret my surgery. I'm 11 days post op. I had doubts. But if i cancelled it would have been at least 2/3 years before i could rearrange. I'm in the Uk and the wait is long. I think I've already re-torn my labrum. Or at least something i felt snapped yesterday and now it really hurts even more.

I had a surgery in the UK as well about four years ago, and it's held until now. At first I felt worst, they even had to do a cortisol shot a few months post-op because it was hurting, but eventually it got better and for four years it felt very good (and two pregnancies adding substantial weight on my hips), but now it's screwed again and I'm trying to fix it asap through exercises. I don't want another surgery. it was very invasive, especially with the traction, I almost fainted when I saw what they were doing 😅

@@laure189 you were awake when they pulled your leg? I think I've already re-torn mine at the weekend. I felt this elastic band type stretch and then a snap 🤦

@@Lucy-lp9kvYeah, I had a fantastic surgeon who was against general anesthesia for this. So they did a spinal tap, just big needle in the spine with a shit load of drugs and my entire lower half was numb. I begged for a general anesthesia but he told me I'd thank him later 😅 when the four dudes held me down while another was pulling my leg strapped to some medieval torture device and I saw the leg at some super weird angle I told the anesthesiologist I was about to pass out. He said "yep, your pressure just dropped" and he must have given me some good stuff because I was instantly awake again. The surgeon explained the entire procedure to me while he was doing it, it was very interesting. Honestly it felt like I tore it again right after, because it just felt suuuper weird, and extremely tight. But they also do other things like reshape the bone etc. the pain journey was definitely not over right away, it took a few months 😢.

There is hope for you two. Physical therapy looks like such simple meaningless movements but when you go to do them, after a period of time they take effect and it can feel like magic the night and day difference how your hip feels. Speaking through personal experience with a hip labral tear here. Find all the different exercises gradually getting into them rotating through various exercises. Several UA-cam channels are quite helpful for this.

Remember the joint when healthy is balanced and has a negative pressure inside it, like a bicycle wheel hub, is not compressed but rather expanded in the joint is suspended like in outer space. The joint does not try to squeeze the cartilage against the bone.

Bone broth with turmeric can help. You want to try to build the muscle around the joints to take the burden off. And for the autoimmune, focus on rebuilding your gut microbiome.
